"What is a Passamaquoddy?" by Michael W. Cook (c) 2023.
The target audience is Maine K-12 students. The objectives are five historical facts about the Passamaquoddy Native American Tribe. Presented to pique curiosity about the Passamaquoddy Tribal culture and history. A secondary audience is the K-12 educators tasked to comply with the Maine law and will be a valuable resource for learners and educators. Linguistic quarriers are directed to the Passamaquoddy-Maliseet Dictionary.
The method used to engage the learner is opening & closing with a movie clip from Disney's 1977 "Pete's Dragon" set in early 20th-century Maine. The antagonist, Doc Terminus, is attempting to sell his magical tonic to the Passamaquoddy townspeople. However, he cannot pronounce it correctly. This Disney musical may not be recognizable to today's children, but they will recognize the formulaic musical style. Without knowing about "Pete's Dragon", a learner will grasp that this must be from an older Disney movie. Music tends to connect better with younger audiences and should facilitate receiving information in a more positive light. In addition, the historical photos are displayed like a Ken Burns documentary where they are not static and fill up the entire 16:9 aspect ratio screen

Yes but you would not have known about it unless I made the shorts. I posted this six months ago and the shorts have increased interest. 👍😀
