This is a 1999 Yamaha 25 horse two-stroke outboard boat motor on a G3 aluminum johnboat. This particular boat motor does not have that oil pump which mixes is the gas and oil automatically. I love this 2 stroke boat motor. A 2 cycle motor may be louder than a 4 stroke, but a 2 cycle may be more durable and have more pep. A 4 cycle can get good on gas though, and you don't have to mix oil and fuel together. Here you get to see how to mix 2 stroke fuel. If you want to keep running that motor you better mix it 50 to 1...!
Been running 2 strokes for decades. Every thing gets 50/1 and works well. Evinrude used to push 100/1 a long time ago. In tuff applications were failing, they went back to 50/1. I think you motor would last longer at 50/1.
Oil is cheap, motors do not. My opinion.
An easier and more cost effective way is to say I have 20L tank, all you need for 50/1 ratio is double it and add a zero. So, 20x2 =40 then add a zero is 400ml of oil. For 100/1 it’s simply add a zero to the size of tank. So, 20L will be 200ml of oil for 100/1. This is a great way and will work in any situation. :)

50:1 is what your mixture is supposed to be. 1964 to current 50:1 mix 1955-1963 24:1 mix 1954 and older 16:1 mix.

more oil you mix the more often you change spark plugs, some help every 3 4 times on the water with a 2 stroke, change your plugs.
A little extra will make your motor run too rich and you will foul your spark plugs, mix it 80 to 1 for best results.

That really isn't inmportant, as long as it is TCW-3 oil (environmentally harmless oil for watercooled two stroke marine engines)
Non ethanol gas and quicksilver two stroke oil. I have ran it in 30hp Johnson with no problems. I mainly run Evinrude / Johnson two stroke oil.

What about a 1998 Yahama XL 760, I have an 11 gallon tank, just bought two stroke oil, how much do I mix with the gas? And do I use the same oil in the actual oil tank also?
