Light shows in Shenzhen are epic. The one at the Futian Civic Center is obviously great, the one in Shenzhen Bay Talent Park is awesome too, together with the skyline, bridge, water, greenery ... Sometimes there's a drone show mixed in as well.

A few years ago, I went to Shenzhen. There are endless shopping malls, 1200 parks, and delicious food everywhere. Shenzhen may be one of the best cities in the world.
I wok and lived in Shenzhen for 22 years, strongly recommend you to go to Shenzhen Bay Park or Rencai Park in the afternoon if you like hiking or riding bike. there is a Led show and drone show at night, it's amazing, then have a dinner at Sea world, it's closed to Shenzhen Bay park, the Sea world is good place for citywalk just like Dongmen road. there is a aircraft carrier from the Soviet Union, but now was changed as a restaurant.

it's from the west of the city to middle, not very east. it 's about 30 km, there are further 50 km to the east of the city, i.e. Baisha Bay, with beatiful little beach and a long and plain greenway. I like to ride bike there.
For now Shenzhen is the most tech advanced city in China, but China is currently building a brand new smart city from scratch called Xiongan, when it's completed it will be amazing and truly futuristic.
In order to avoid crowding, Shenzhen has set up four city centers from east to west, Luohu, Futian, Nanshan, and Baoan. This is to prevent everyone from crowding into one place. My home is next to the Ferris wheel. 20 years ago, this place was a swamp, and every night you could only hear frogs croaking.

There's no need. To understand the concept of "developed country", the only measurement is "GDP per capita". First of all, gdp is a valuation of dollar based. Tung Mun is the place I go when I go to Shenzhen. And fun fact, the McDonald in Tung Mun is the first McDonald ever opened in China back in Oct 1990.
