@@OlviMasta77 My kids play Fortnite, Apex, Warzone along with other titles. Yes they run at or over 60. Apex on 1080p medium is at around 85-90. My daughter records videos with her cousins and it doesn't seem to stutter. I don't know the impact on FPS in that scenario.

@@sodatcat5379 I believe it is pretty legit. The 1650 is not a powerhouse GPU but it plays todays games at 60 FPS which is the refresh rate of the monitor. When ETA put this video out, I believe the price was $600. For this price and the performance you get, yes, it's worth every penny. My only issue is they needed extra storage space. You could use external storage or open the back up and add either a traditional SSD or an NVME drive (or both) without having to worry about cloning the original drive.

I have an Asus TUF With the same case (Ryzen 4800h) with the GTX 2060, it's a marvel, the only problem was that it came with 8Gb of RAM and took them to 24 (then I'll switch to 32)

It is true that while boosted up to the 4.3ghz max cpu clock it does throttle back, but when under Power options / processor power management/ (unlocked: processor performance boost mode) is disabled; the cpu never clocks aboves 2.9ghz and doesn't go above 65 degrees C under full load on all 8 cores for hours.

2:02 sounds like the cstates not working properly. It will only turbo to 4.5 on a single core - but c states can mess with things especially when the other cores are slightly utilised by background tasks (which is always the case in reality).
Also Intel chips don't throttle at 98, they go full speed and power until they hit 100. Seems like the laptop itself is potentially set to throttle otherwise you would have seen it hit 100 then drop. I suppose it could have been power throttling instead, and just happened to reach 98.

Oh yeah, this machine is absolutely being throttled back by that RAM. Not that it's not a high enough capacity as much as it's simply running in single channel mode, which has proven to gimp any CPU super hardcore. Getting a second memory module is very much needed. Even going with 2x4GB is preferable to a single 8GB stick.

The Nitro and TUF lines of laptops are infamously know for overheating, throttling and underperformance. Even though Acer has been working on solving their overheating issues over time, it's still better to save your money and go for anything on the ROG or the Predator lines, even if they're more expensive.

crazy how the intel core2quad and the i5 are technically very old CPUs the core2quad being the oldest yet both are still very respectable processors today!
We have reached a point that you could have a old desktop from all the way back in 2006 that with some research, and a little upgrading here and there, still
be an excellent computing experience in 2020. impressive.
My core i5 desktop was free all because it upgraded to windows10 and it pissed the previous owner off and they didn't want it anymore. A whole 3+ghz worth of quad core processing with 8gb of ram! This must of been my best and most favorite pick find of all time! I am typing on it right now! I still can't believe it. Epic! I use it for internet, making music, playing emulators, and so much more! Had it running for almost a year and it only broke down once it was just the psu.
