    As a young woman I have a trauma belief about doctors but it happens to be true in my case. It took 11 years to get a diagnosis for a neurological disease and they still treat me like shit. Neglegence, prejudice, laugh at me, anger when I speak my mind. How can one accept trauma when its still going on and will forever ? This is not some random thing. My life, health and financial situation are in the hands of those horrible people.

    Very helpful, thank you! It's like you're reading my mind today. This explains so much of a family member's behavior & apparent thought process. His abusive alcoholic father did more damage than I ever knew (never gave specifics). In my psych studies (& experiences in adulthood) I became more aware of the dysfunctional elements of his personality but was never able to describe it as well as you've explained. It overlaps with many traits I've learned from the research available on NPD, yet he is a good person at heart. Thanks again!

    Hey doc snipes, I'm wondering if it's similar to generational trauma info. For example: a family says, "For years x group of people are only out to get us. It's an us vs them." I'm wondering if there's a way to undo that mentality of automatic labels from generational trauma?

    For example having the thought: “I am unlovable”
    I think the movie inside out 2 does an amazing job at showing how core beliefs thoughts and feelings can all be mixed together in our psyche. Would love for you to expound on this

      I am very sorry to hear that. If you are in the US, I would encourage you to seek out therapists and treatment programs that state they are trauma informed. Unfortunately, doctors do not often have a lot of info about trauma. You can search for MDs that address trauma related issues on Psychology Today's find a therapist website. www.psychologytoday.com/us/psychiatrists/tennessee?category=trauma-and-ptsd Obviously that search was for Tennessee. I do not know your location. YOu can also educate them about complex posttraumatic stress disorder if you think that fits. Here is the link to the description in the ICD-11 (International Classification of Diagnoses) icd.who.int/browse11/l-m/en#/id.who.int/icd/entity/585833559

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Identifying trauma-related beliefs often involves recognizing thought patterns and beliefs that have developed as a result of traumatic experiences. These beliefs might include feelings of worthlessness, guilt, or fear. Pay attention to negative self-talk, triggers, and emotional reactions.
