They really need to bring this attraction back some how. I’d like universal to bring back all those classic attractions. Jaws, Back to the Future, ghost busters etc. But use today’s technology.
@@StorybookAmusement I'll always remember the queue line as the location of the "Dungeon of Terror" and other terrorfying houses from halloween horror nights
I vividly remember riding the JAWS ride in Florida in '97 I was 6 years old and my older brother was sat on the end of the row right next to where JAWS comes up out the water on the left side of the boat. I still remember that ride fondly and being so close to the 'shark' to this day.
If you were there in late April - early May ‘97 we might have been there on the same day! I was 9 turning 10 on my holiday of a lifetime there. I loved it! Oddly I wasn’t scared like I was of some of the other stuff like the Terminator experience. I remember the smell as well. I thought it was gasoline but it was probably bromine?
I just stood while watching this entire video you’ve created! I appreciate it. It took me back to the 90s and early 2000s when I had the absolute pleasure to ride this legendary attraction a myriad of times. Too bad my wife won’t be able to ride this as she was sad that it got closed permanently. This was memory lane for me. Jaws was the reason why up until my age 34 I am still terrified of the deep ocean😊
I had no idea the original version had the skippers controlling the boat's movement (or speed at least?)...no wonder they had issues. I worked at the Jaws boardwalk games in 1995, fond memories of the area and the skippers.
Yep! Just the speed from my understanding. I've read that the 1.0 boats were "free floating" and followed a tight trough instead of a proper track. I personally don't see how that would've been possible with the turntable section plus a few controlled bumps (like in the final scene). But some people who worked on the engineering side mentioned how the human error element (speed) made the turntable tricky. I wish there were more videos; I'd love to see it misaligned. But those must've been good times! Good soundtrack in that area.
Does anyone know where I can find the "Hey there Amity!" ride film? Just seeing the small bits of film just unlocked some core memories. I'm a huge fan of Jaws and I would love to watch it again
I rode Jaws in 1995 and I went on a school trip to Universal Studios Florida and it was a month after my birthday so my mom paid for me to go and she told me that was my birthday gift and I was so happy
Amazing job. Here’s hopping Dark Universe becomes the ‘indie’ hit of the new park and we get the Creature from the Lagoon expansion, with boats and skippers and scares!
This is probably my most missed defunct attraction that I never got to do. It looked like such a fun and iconic ride. I always forget that there were two versions though! It was very cool doing the Studio Tour in Hollywood, but I really gotta get over to Japan one day to experience the full thing over there. Oh, and this video was amazing and beautifully crafted, as always.
Well made video. I expected hundreds of thousands of views when I double checked after watching. I think if you keep up this approach you’ll grow a ton, good stuff and keep going!
I remember going to universal in 2010 and I was lucky enough to sit on the side and exact sport were jaws attacked and I can tell you that I absolutely pooped my self, I felt true fear as a 12 year old
I always wonder the same thing when Disney do their water show with fire about the poor ducks..smh. the ducks and especially baby ducks they r all over park.
When I was a kid I hated this ride (I was a scared cat) but then as a teen I saw the movie for the first time and my dad showed me the making of jaws and I was hooked. I loved the ride all the way to it's closing. I remember after me and my dad would ride we'd get some ice cream and watch the boat come into port at the end seeing the cheers of "surviving" the ride. It's some of my best memories their. I love harry potter don't get me wrong but Jaws will always have a special place in my heart.
I remember this ride, I was enthralled with it. Great video! I need to dig out my old 90s home movies from our time at Universal. We have video of riding through all the classics like Jaws, Kong, Earthquake.
Excelent video man! I love to watch those YT documentaries about theme park attractions and your channel always delivers quality content. About Jaws itself, I'm a simple brazilian who has traveled to Florida only once in 2011, most specifically December... I had no single clue that attraction was less than 1 month from closing forever, which makes me even more grateful for having been able to ride it. I remember seeing all the effects working and the skipper was awesome in his perfomance. I'll be forever grateful for that opportunity and the memories I have of that single 5-minute ride that scared the hell outta me 13 years ago 😂 Btw I swear I could feel the flames' heat from here while you were talking about them on the video lol Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you! Wow, you're lucky you got to ride it when you did! Those flames really do feel like they're coming through the screen. 😅 I hid some fire sound effects to make it hotter!
I rode rhe Jaws ride at Universal Studios Japan a few months ago and even though I couldn't quite understand my skipper I still enjoyed their enthusiasm and had a great time.😂
Anytime I see these run throughs I keep thinking WHY ? Couldnt The Boat Just Simply Aim and Drive Over right To The Shore ? It Doesnt Seem That Far At all Especially When The Shark Isnt Present ?
