  • In this video, I assay two different rock samples from two different gold mines. One sample had gold running in chalcopyrite and the other had gold running in arsenopyrite. The results were very surprising!

    Professor, your work is excellent and I am proud to be a member of your group. Why didn't you use borax? I usually put an iron rod in the molten crucible to remove the sulfates from the molten solution. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences in Fire Ace or other gold mining methods with us.     Wondering what safety precautions you took while working with arsenopyrite in regards to its dust when crushed and arsenic vapors released when roasting and smelting. Have some samples of my own ive been thinking of running and i know arsenopyrite can be quite hazardous

      same issue here.
      I don’t consider this to be very responsible. A respirator won‘t adequately protect one, especially not with a forge inside and using Pb instead of Os.
      And roasting it inside.. I mean - hey, do whatever you want in your house but maybe it‘ll have to be condemned.

    That's a lot of Lead. 😬 Do you have the safe means to collect the vapor of Lead, so you can reuse the leftovers of Lead?

      I would use nitric acid to remove the silver and other sulfides from the gold. Or smelt the ore using a lead collector metal and then cupel it.

    Nice work. Just getting into hardrock mining. Would a shaker table be a good investment to separate the sulphides after crushing??

      @@u2ooberboober I prefer to avoid the sulphides and find free gold through gravity systems.

      Nitric acid bath to dissolve the silver into solution and the gold is left as residue. Thanks for the question.

    I can hear your kiln make a puffing sound which could mean your air source from your air blower is not providing enough oxygen and needs a better flow rate. Maybe you can connect the blower by a hose to the back of your injector and see if the puffing stops. I watch Jason from Mount Baker Mining as well. He uses a shop vacuum to provide his air source with a diverter and ball check valve to adjust the air flow. His diverter can connect to a second injector when he uses his larger furnace that has two fire injectors. It is just my opinion that your wonderful furnace is being starved of oxygen and thus not working efficiently and reaching higher temperatures. I apologize in advance if I'm in error.

      Yes, that is easy! Find some quartz and grind it up into fine powder.

    Did you just evaporate a gold? But how? Why your heat box looks clean? There must be a lot of red-hot dust that has evaporated from the vessels

      The gold does not evaporate. The lead evaporates and is absorbed by the cupels, leaving the gold and silver.

    Are you serious ?!! You can work just on that arsenopyrite getting at least 5 grams of gold daily/ 1 kg !! Get a furnace, crucible 4 .. crusher .. roast and smelt .. I cant believe you didnt do that !!

      For this amount, I would not use a lead flux. I would rely on the gold and silver content to be my collector metal. You would have to experiment with how much carbon, silica, and borax to use depending on the type of ore you are using.

      @@karimrazak3798 As a rough estimate, I would say you need to add 50% to 100% carbonate to ore ratio. So, 500kg to 1000kg of carbonate. The amount depends on the PH of your matt. You can start with 500kg and if it boils violently you can add more to neutralize the PH. As for borax, I would use 250kg -350kg. Too much borax and the flux gets too thick. Don't forget to roast your ore first.
