I got copper- nickel ore very clean found on surface. From sudbury where can i get it checked for precious metals. Who can i go to that would be educated on high grade sulphide ores.

Hate to break it to you buddy, but that area has been claimed, it is illegal to pan for gold there. You are claim jumping. First of all, there are no gold mines around that area. Placer gold comes from a mother lode, from vanes of quarts that have washed out over thousands of years and found its way into rivers and streams. If I were to go gold panning in Northern Ontario, I would go where there are known gold mines, like Kirkland Lake, Timmins, and other areas that have old, and possibly abandoned mines where you can go through some of the tailings. In Sudbury, I would take a trip down Portelace Road and look for small streams and water flows coming off the hill sides. Look for quarts vanes, and white rocks. There is placer gold in Sudbury, because there is gold in several areas around Sudbury. However, Sudbury rock is some of the oldest and hardest rock in the world. It takes a very long time for weathering to occur on such hard rock. Again, gold is not found everywhere in Sudbury, it is only found in certain areas. You wont find big flakes of gold, just flower, or powder gold in the streams and banks. Pretty much every square inch in Sudbury has been claimed by Vale, Xstrata and other big international companies. It is illegal to grab a pan and start panning and prospecting anywhere you like. To find out what areas have been claimed or owns the rights to that area, you have to go to the Land Registry. Unless you know what you are doing, good luck, it cost a lot of money to start looking at a bunch of claims. Thanks for the vid and showing what illegal claim jumping looks like.

Ontario has numerous laws, lots of the land have many claims, lots of laws particularly regarding environmental regulations near bodies of water. You can't even conduct ground testing without permits and a license.

That's a pretty popular spot at Minette. You can make a days pay for a days work here. My friends and I used to stand in the river and wash gravel using a 48 inch pan, and 2 people shovelling. Check the Placer Gold Book at Sudbury regional geologists office open file reposts

That's the Caswell Mine near Shining Tree Ontario. The original shaft is on other side if river. The Evelyn downstream is far cooler. Yes I've been there digging lol. Best tsiling in the area are at the Rhonda mine shaft 1.
