    The gold seems to be on the south end of the Great Lakes. I assume the same would apply to Lake Huron.

      Actually, north of lake Huron has a lot more gold, but in hard rock mines not placer.

      @@exploringnorthernontario9627 interesting. Lake Superior and Lake Michigan are richest in gold at the south ends. Maybe it just hasn’t migrated as far with Lake Huron.

    Sudbury Ontario, our home town! There's another gold mine right before this one, there's quite the large waste rock pile from the old shaft. That old fireplace was the managers house!

      I would use nitric acid to remove the silver and other sulfides from the gold. Or smelt the ore using a lead collector metal and then cupel it.

    Did you try your metal detector first. do you have alot of large stones like you do not know where they came fro I do not know what the Canadian shield look like But I have watch trappers video it looks like all spruce trees

      The gold is too small for the metal detector to detect.

      Try where the hard wood foresters cut their hard wood trees and load them on their truck you will find things in the ROCK that has to be tested any ways in the adirondacks@@exploringnorthernontario9627

      Sorry I got to bother you again my note in the bag said conservation rd beaver dam 3 time being 80 I only thought 2 time any ways when deriving down that rd near molone n.y..? sort of my son and I came to a beaver dam so t tried the falkon metal detector on the beaver dam that the beaver put stones on the falkon rang and look down and red showen back we got 3 or more rocks every time we wet their How ever this year the state hired some one to get the beaver last time I went their had to be before and got rocks 11/2021

      Watching my wolf movie that I had wolf glands as high could reach or so I watch2diferent bears in two different places when they were done and shook there body that their drooling look like snd flying out of their mouth I got 2 bottles of bear spray in case a woman smells different in the mimiddle of the month OR is hungery because it killed off all deer fawns. I have seen on my cameras a loot of1.5 year old out hunting on their own and when you see what look like cow pie that is a bear scat one had a fawn hoof in it. did know you were hunting spring bear or not

    What I also use is a Falkon metal detector finds gold this size ].] 1.2 inches in ground or any metal does nor ring on fools gold pyrite and rings going backwards on black sand magatight

    I am just a 80 year old greenhorn when looking for gold BUT because of my forestry I found 3 Rhyolite volcanos. in the adirondack mountans[If you have time this winter start at the 3rd from the last video to where mother nature volcano plugged up plum brook rhyolite is an acidy rock it blue sand all over so a 80 year-old said it was to acidy.one year of forstry school said red pine and schoch pine are not native to the U.S. and said the Adirondack rises 12 inches in a 100 years.[you will see what you call river rock is made from what I call hot lava sand CCC camp planted pine trees in the Adirondack mountains you tube Chanell [ century new technologies company inc ] AS of 10/30/23 no employees and no income [ our rail road ties have a metal ridge on that is where I put my stone [ do you have any any place that they can get gravel for logging roads some of that gravel is rounded as that river rock

    That's a pretty popular spot at Minette. You can make a days pay for a days work here. My friends and I used to stand in the river and wash gravel using a 48 inch pan, and 2 people shovelling. Check the Placer Gold Book at Sudbury regional geologists office open file reposts

    First time seeing your channel, keep up the good work. Very good video and sharing your location, others do not disclose location at all, won't make them rich hogging info like that, especially if there's not too much gold or silver to be found.... (loved your " I'm an impatient panner "- funny - LOL - last week I did the same as you at a lake, this time in Wilberforce, Ontario, dumb of me panning at a lake! ; ) I think I found specks of pyrite and garnets only.

    That's the Caswell Mine near Shining Tree Ontario. The original shaft is on other side if river. The Evelyn downstream is far cooler. Yes I've been there digging lol. Best tsiling in the area are at the Rhonda mine shaft 1.

    Kevin, couple times you mentioned - 'claim line'. Does it mean that you had to get an approval from authorities for prospecting? If yes can you say how to do it?

      Its all crown/public lands. There is no problem with access. As long as you stay off existing mining claims.

      Southern Ontario is all sedimentary rock. No gold. You find the gold in the Canadian Shield country….in the greenstone belt regions.

      I would say get north of Hwy 17 at least and research abandoned gold mines in the area. Take care!

    I know where I live I have 2 huge rock hills like 50+ feet high and idk how deep but I’m going to dig and search for veins this summer also check the creek with a metal detector. As well as panning the stream or find the river or lake it comes from. But I’m in Muskoka so I’m not sure I’ll find gold maybe silver maybe lead . Maybe even nothing . But I’m going to start mining the rocks even to make a shelter for fun 😂

    Js buddy you’d have better luck on the edge of the river bank on a curve . Not on the bank they stuff would wash deep . You’d have to dig like 10 ft that high to get enough to even try and sell

    I'm from kapuskasing Ontario 6h from you. I actually found a crazy spot down here. Big Placer deposit and I found the source. 😊 4 to 5mm pieces of gold everywhere

    Professor, your work is excellent and I am proud to be a member of your group. Why didn't you use borax? I usually put an iron rod in the molten crucible to remove the sulfates from the molten solution. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences in Fire Ace or other gold mining methods with us.       Hello. Unfortunately, the beep mat is only good for finding massive deposits.

    Wondering what safety precautions you took while working with arsenopyrite in regards to its dust when crushed and arsenic vapors released when roasting and smelting. Have some samples of my own ive been thinking of running and i know arsenopyrite can be quite hazardous

      same issue here. I don’t consider this to be very responsible. A respirator won‘t adequately protect one, especially not with a forge inside and using Pb instead of Os. And roasting it inside.. I mean - hey, do whatever you want in your house but maybe it‘ll have to be condemned.

    What is "lead flux?" is it litharge, or some other flux mixture?

      Hello, Yes litharge is a lead flux with other chemicals mixed together.
