Hey I would like to say that o think the reason that first aid kits are blue is because on earth the Red Cross is a dim le that if you are not threatening someone it is a war crime to attack them like a medic or a field hospital. So it might be blue do that Disney isn’t breaking the international laws of war. But again that is just my thoughts
Honestly I feel the most costly upgrade would be the continuous partical beam emitter. I'm assuming the fwr Lazer cannons & Lazer cannon turret come stock.. the fondor droid ai is definitely costly but most likely a pricy fondor accessories admittedly luthens is most likely been give different programming than the stock model. Assuming you could make it around the same speed as the falcon with using kyber to power the ship so I believe for around the same price dash rendar spent moving his yt-2400 you could have a fondor with speed on par with it fwr Lazer cannons and Lazer cannon turret as well as a watered down version of the integrated fondor ai... I don't like the partical emmiters anyways I'd would want to sub them out for a ion cannon or varible missel launcher
i LOVE the idea that Luthen's countermeasures weren't "flachette-style weapons" like it may first seem (which would probably have limited usage in space combat), but were actually just standard chaff designed to throw off missile and other targeting systems. Luthen boosted the engines to trick the imps into raising the tractor beam strength, so that when he launched chaff it was sucked into the tractor beam projectors at such a high velocity that just those tiny pieces of metal effectively shredded the projector dishes. TL;DR it's not a custom, niche usage weapon that launches metal projectiles backward, it's just standard defensive chaff utilized in an incredibly creative way. GOD i love this show lol
@@IronWarhorsesFun That *may* work, but as StealthPants1 said, the reason it worked so well was because the chaff was pulled in by the tractor beam causing it to rapidly accelerate.
Has anyone else noticed how many callbacks to Darth Maul that Luthan made over the course of the series? 1, He exists in the shadows, plotting and killing in secret until it is time to reveal himself in the open. 2, In the last episode he does the same thing that Maul does when he is hunting the Jedi on Tatooine, he leaves his ship, raises his dark hood and zooms away on a personal speeder, exactly as Maul did. 3, The ship even has a double-sided lightsaber, for crying out loud. This in no way can be all coincidence.
Maybe he was a spy who infiltrated the Mandalorian Maul faction during the Clone War. That would explain his skills in working in the shadows and the maulish mannerisms
@@dogloversrule8476 There’s many hints in the show he’s a Mandalorian including his choice of personal weapon, and deep knowledge of extinct races fighting styles. I think all the Disney Star Wars TV shows are heading towards a Mandalorian merger and Thrawn will be the ultimate big bad Avengers style in a few years.
I personally loved Andor but absolutely hated the Haulcraft escape. It was unnecessary complicated and more than anything illogically dumb. Laserblades on a starship make no sense. One would need to fly so very close to a ship that the risk of collision for a non jedi is massive. Luthen is no jedi (despite being very interesting and a great character). Moreover the distances in space are relatively long. The opponent has very very many shots before the other ship being in slicing range. A system that relies on the opponents not being able to aim is dumb as heck. Honestly there is nothing to justify the laserblades on the ship other than the rule of cool. Similarly the tractor beam part. Tractor beams have existed in the SW universe much before and during clone wars. Luthen "happens" to be so lucky to get caught up by the few that are using massive dishes to work. The counter tractor beam technology has never been on display before (fair enough Luthen is an atypically well off man with access to Coruscants finest wares). Still if the countermeasure isn't completely brand new then ships would have counter measures for them in place. Larger militaries for sure have access to technologies that Luthen does as well. They run multi quadrillion budgets in SW universe. Luthen siphons what little he can from the resistance funds.
I agree with the first part about the lasers, but I don’t see the issue with the “countermeasures”. Just because we haven’t seen anyone in SW use such a method to disable a tractor beam projector before doesn’t mean it’s impractical, or that everybody should be using it. For all we know, it’s luthen’s own unique design. And there are presumably other uses for it besides for escaping from one very particular type of imperial patrol cruiser.
Shoutout to the ol’ video sponsor. Audible is how I was finally able to finish the Bane trilogy after buying the first book. They need to give Drew Karpyshyn whatever he wants and make Bane AS DREW WROTE HIM canon and let Drew explore other stories
I am looking forward to more background stories on Luthen. Might be in novels or comics, but he is too good of a new character to not further develop and explore. I suppose we will learn more in Andor, but the Luthen character is a great character to build more stories on the shadowy underworld of society. I agree, his story could link into some past like with Berch Teller and the Antar Atrocity, etc.
I personally think that Luthen is a Jedi Survivor. there are several key pieces of evidence that I find most compelling. the first is his extensible cane, which attention was directly drawn to during the season finale, which looks suspicously like a 2 handed lightsaber hilt with the cane retracted. the large kyber crystal he hands to Andor is abnormally large for a lightsaber, but not so much if it were placed into a longer hilt. he also went out of his way to point out that it was "blue Kyber" and that it was a symbol of defiance against the Rakata (which btw, I am super happy about being added to canon). the fact that he is in possession of all the ingredients for a lightsaber, and apparent knowledge of a jedi suggests that he could be a jedi survivor. another telling piece of info is during his conversation with Lonni, where he states that he hates having to use the tools of his enemy and that he had sacrificed everything in the name of rebellion, meaning he once was a man of openness and honesty, two traits that would describe a Jedi well. lastly is his beam weapon on the Fondor. two red beams of energy on a rotating axis is not so disimilar to the hilt of an inquisitor's lightsaber so it is possible that Luthen had encountered and defeated an inquisitor and repurposed their kyber crystals for a ship to ship weapon.add to this the precision in which he would have to execute the roll necessary to take out two ships at different ranges on different sides of his ship, this would undoubtedly require force sensitivity of a high degree. just my personal opinion but then again I like thinking that there were more survivors than the 5 we know about.
Becoming a prominent antiquities dealer who specializes in high-end Coruscanti clientelle (like senators) might actually be the worst hiding place for a Jedi.
We’ve seen multiple non force sensitive pilots perform those moves in fighters and freighters. Luthen is a type of guy to prepare for any situation. When the situation arrives, he doesn’t panic and goes into what he’s been planning for. Andor shows without the Jedi, it’s falls to the regular people to save the Galaxy. It wouldn’t make sense story wise to make him a force user. It’s a reach to think he is even with all the antiques and exotic items he has.
Add to that his power of persuasion. He was able to recruit Andor for the heist, convinced Vel to let Andor join the team, got Lonni to not quit as a spy, and convinced Saw to stay put and let Kreegyr and his men die. Luthen somehow was always successful in manipulating people to get what he wanted, not unlike Palpatine.
> it is possible that Luthen had encountered and defeated an inquisitor and repurposed their kyber crystals for a ship to ship weapon LMAO, in those shitty cartoons - why not, they even using them as helicopters, surely wouldn't be a problem to just superglue their sabers to ship and voila. Gladly, Andor is much more sane and mature than this cringe stuff.
I like that. I hope he was one of the Temple Guards that was out on patrol and couldn't run in until it was too late. That Temple Guard Mask is his shop is his. It helps then that the Jedi artifacts in his shop are not Cultural Appropriation, they belong to him and his people.
The Hound's Tooth Bossk's ship is the most expensive ship in canon costing 480,000 credits, I wouldn't be surprised if Luthen's ship cost 600-800k credits or even 1 million credits.

Think of the lasers on the Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry... they were likely these... their position would likely indicate they were for "strafing" runs. Flying beside larger hulled ships and slicing them open... or parking by a ship and slowly cutting through it.
hmm the more i think about it... they would/could pass for "scrapping lasers." For cutting large hulks up into smaller pices for towing... and justifying having such powerful beams by them being fixed. a pilot would have to align with the hulk, turn the laser on, start their cut flying a set course, then turning off the beam. the empire would be less worried about it as an offensive weapon and instead view it as a tool.
@@MetaNerdzLore I think we see something like that in the venater graveyard in bad batch. but could see ships like this working in pairs, one "fixes" say, a venator tower with a tractor beam, the 2nd cuts it free to be moved to a part for melting down and such. because these kind of high power beams would be needed on scrap and salvage ships the empire might overlook it since its not a forward facing, or a turreted weapon.

Not Starkiller's suit, it's just the helmet. There is a second one of these suits on display in the back of the shop as well. Both suits can be seen in episode 4. There is also an incomplete helmet sitting beside the Indiana Jones' carbonite blocks in episode 8. This single helmet is missing the 'feather' details and the side flaps that the other two have. This means there are three Starkiller helmets in Luthen's shop. This leads me to believe these suits are from a warrior group and Starkiller simply took one of these helmets.

He has a kyber crystal. Wanna bet those are industrial sized light sabers? That's no composite beam. It only goes so far before stopping but remains active until it's turned off. Those are ship mounted light lances.
Yeah the composite aspect is usually to amplify, so if not as strong as the B6 maybe it doesn't need the composite. But I think the lightsaber tech does make more sense than how silly some people make it seem.
I have a feeling that he was indeed a former Intel officer for the Republic. Even one that worked in special operations given the amount of knowledge he has and how he utilizes it. Remember his speech, he wrote the equation 15 years ago that had one logical conclusion. I don't think he was referring to the situation he believed himself to be in, but knowing that the war was manipulated and the rise of palpatine and the Empire only certified his suspicions.
Just out of my own headcanon I've always thought the targeting computer was something rarely used in Star Wars because of the ability for your enemy to employ electronic warfare which would make using an 'aim bot' really dangerous. It opens you up to countermeasures, not the least of which was your predictability. This is why the Republic used clones which could think for themselves and was shown in the Clone Wars series as a weakness of the separatists with their overreliance on droids. How many command droids did Anakin destroy, he even commented on how they'd just become so predictable even after upgrades. The rebels at Yavin probably only used targeting computers out of sheer desperation. This would make Luthen a risk taker. He's putting himself in jeopardy using a targeting computer and leaving the aiming to an AI. He only has a few shots before his aim becomes predictable.
unlike the cheap mass produced CIS droids tho, his targeting computer hit its shots. pretty sure countermeasures like the ones you're thinking of dont exist in starwars (or in real life too) how do you jam an internal targeting computer?) And even if they do exist, luthen is anything but predictable; he uses 3 different weapons in that fight and a host of other side systems
Luthen is clearly not a Jedi: *his second name is Rael (from Rael Avaross) *he sales Jedi relics *have a cool stick that resembles a light saber *his ship literally have light sabers *carries a deeply personal feelings about kyber cristals
I think those beams were Rakatan tech, because Luthen mentions Rakata in this quote: "It's a Kuati Signet. Blue kyber. Sky stone. The ancient world. Celebrates the uprising against the Rakatan invaders." The force hounds and flesh raiders invading worlds for the Infinite Empire used similar weapons in 35,000 BBY, long before the republic even existed.
What really struck me about this scene with the interdictor was the calmness of the imperials. They weren't excited, or yelling, or running around. They were calm, well trained, and competent. This was routine, and they had lots of practice. And they still failed.
That Imperial Arrestor scene’s real-world equivalent would be a modern Navy destroyer pulling up with air support to a tugboat, only for the tugboat to take off into the air, pepper the ship with some fireworks, taking out a couple helis and F-18s with a Gatling cannon, and then escaping by submarining into the ocean.
Another Ship that has stealth technology is the Ghost. I had mentioned in a comments section before that it would not surprise me that he helped get the Ghost up and running.
Without a doubt those lasers are powered by kiber . This crystal was so central in the andor series and it isn't a coincidence there's huge red laser beams coming out of his ship
I like the ship how it's equipped with Lightsabers, used to slice up those tie-fighters. When andor asked what is powering the ship, and never got an answer, it must be powered by a kyber crystal.
Just one quick behind the scenes point- blue is the colour of healing because the red cross that we associate with medicine is a protected symbol of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Colouring it blue allows the audience to quickly recognize it as a shorthand for a medic without getting too close
Just add something here there are 2 cannons that are placed on the inner edges of both wings forward . Not sure if they are autoblasters laser cannons or ion cannons. My choice would be auto blasters which are good for short range
OT, It must be really inconvenient to have a battered YT-1300 with the identical configuration to the Millennium Falcon. Always getting stopped by Imperial patrols, having your engines shot out by ISD turbolasers without warning. At least Fondor Hullcraft all have the same external layout.

This is compelling writing. A comparable book I read had a transformative effect on me. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
@@MetaNerdzLore I really liked how you drew some deeper critical analysis of what seems like "just a cool ship" and compared it to Luthen's personality and even his role in the wider rebellion, and the themes and ideas the ship represents. Through your video i now see the ship as a vehicle for enhancing the storytelling, not just some piece of eye-candy.
If tractoring and manipulating space were done at speed, I would expect it to create a form of drag on the ship, much like how a supermassive black hole will lose a bit of spin every time it ejects a stellar body, eventually causing it to collide with a binary pair partner.
To me with the way it's been modified its only role is recon and espionage so it's very limited in what it can do outside of that. Clearly good at getting away though. I'd imagine this isn't his only modified ship, hope he has a whole small fleet of oddballs like this.
All those redoubts. Probably has a hanger. He can stash the ship , some some new baller craft, he's rich and that's excuse enough. Than once the ISB gets bored and forgets about it, it can make a glorious return.
I don't think luthen is a jedi but i think his lover was. Something about his big speech points to that somewhat possibility. He is not sentimental about himself since every part of him is a weapon to be used for the cause. That crystal might be the last bit of his better half.
Luthen's ship was very cool, but the lightsaber wings was straight up cheesy and unnecessary. All the other details and characteristics was well thought out and well implemented into the show.

He only has a few shots before his aim becomes predictable.
unlike the cheap mass produced CIS droids tho, his targeting computer hit its shots.
pretty sure countermeasures like the ones you're thinking of dont exist in starwars (or in real life too) how do you jam an internal targeting computer?)
And even if they do exist, luthen is anything but predictable; he uses 3 different weapons in that fight and a host of other side systems
Been waiting for this, thank you
First too
Love how many of the instruments are hidden in small compartments, not out in the open.
It reminds me more of the rogue shadow than any other ship
Luthen is clearly not a Jedi:
*his second name is Rael (from Rael Avaross)
*he sales Jedi relics
*have a cool stick that resembles a light saber
*his ship literally have light sabers
*carries a deeply personal feelings about kyber cristals
u should watch a short I made on this, I don't think the Avaross thing makes sense
green is also sometimes used for first aid kits and medical signs.
I think Luthen is a former Jedi who left the order long before the Clone Wars.
"I share my dreams with ghosts."
This line says a lot to me.
the spinny move with the laser beams convinced me the theory he was a jedi must be true....thats some precision and intuition combined with skill
I think those beams were Rakatan tech, because Luthen mentions Rakata in this quote: "It's a Kuati Signet. Blue kyber. Sky stone. The ancient world. Celebrates the uprising against the Rakatan invaders." The force hounds and flesh raiders invading worlds for the Infinite Empire used similar weapons in 35,000 BBY, long before the republic even existed.
what a wonderful ship inside and out
I was just thinking. It would be cool if mando were to find this ship or buy it in the future, it’s perfect!
Definitely one of my favorite SW ships
I had to go watch some videos of that drag racing farm truck, but now I'm back to finish this. xD
Alright, you talked me into it. Let me go check out this show.
Considering how stylish the Chevlex looks, I hope we see more Fondor Shipyards products in the future.
Another Ship that has stealth technology is the Ghost. I had mentioned in a comments section before that it would not surprise me that he helped get the Ghost up and running.
Yeah that is really interesting and got me hype for season 2
It would be a good tie in with Rebels if they went that route.
Without a doubt those lasers are powered by kiber . This crystal was so central in the andor series and it isn't a coincidence there's huge red laser beams coming out of his ship
The Emperor spared no expense in the creation of this ship for his top agent.
😂 Farm truck kicks ass!!
This is for sure now my new favourite ship and is the one id choose if I could have one - it used to be twe Millennium Falcon 😮...
Sweet ride.
The acceleration of Luthen's haulcraft is even more impressive knowing the cantwell is actually around 1,363 meters
The Man with the Golden Haulcraft 😂.
I like the ship how it's equipped with Lightsabers, used to slice up those tie-fighters. When andor asked what is powering the ship, and never got an answer, it must be powered by a kyber crystal.
One of the best Star Wars ships from Disney
One of the coolest and most powerful custom ships. It's up there with Xizor's Virago and the Falcon
I think the Fondor bears a very strong resemblance to the Rogue Shadow from Force Unleashed
Dope ride
Great Video. Awesome Channel. Just Suscribed. Thanks for the great work!
This is one of my favorite ships in star wars
Hey MetaNerdz, when will The COMPLETE Life Story (Canon & Legends) video of Count Dooku be out? I’m anxious to see it.
@4:44 "this woman" yeesh
Gosh you’re smart … love your analysis
Lol I'll take it
Just one quick behind the scenes point- blue is the colour of healing because the red cross that we associate with medicine is a protected symbol of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Colouring it blue allows the audience to quickly recognize it as a shorthand for a medic without getting too close
Hey man I can't find your videos from over 3 years ago. Are they member exclusive or deleted. Please make them available again
I address it all in a community post and in that membership video intro thing. Basically the older vids are hurting the channel in the algorithm
@@MetaNerdzLore alright
they took plot armor up a whole level
Just add something here there are 2 cannons that are placed on the inner edges of both wings forward . Not sure if they are autoblasters laser cannons or ion cannons. My choice would be auto blasters which are good for short range
OT, It must be really inconvenient to have a battered YT-1300 with the identical configuration to the Millennium Falcon.
Always getting stopped by Imperial patrols, having your engines shot out by ISD turbolasers without warning.
At least Fondor Hullcraft all have the same external layout.
Something always interesting about ships in Star Wars is that none of the buttons seem labeled.
Dude you are a SERIOUS star wars nerdz!
Hey its likely u won't see this but many of your older videos don't work something about its not available,
The videos i found ate the belator, mc 85 and mc 90 theres likely to be many more
Basically the older vids are hurting the channel, I was going to set them to private, but membership is how I can make them "private" to the TH-cam algorithm, but still let people who want to see them have access, and will put out other more casual vids and different content there.
It's a neat ship. It sure is a ship worthy to learn more about
The batmobile of star wars
☑️ SUBSCRIBED!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Very good
I'm not convinced that Scarif was a shipyard. It only had a shield gate to protect the highly classified research base on the surface.
You forgot about Rendili. They built ships and vehicles for the GAR and they continued to manufacture ships and vehicles for the Empire.
Love your content and his ship is really cool
Wow
This is compelling writing. A comparable book I read had a transformative effect on me. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
I think this ship will be Luthen Rael's undoing. This ship has a lot of mods and that cost a lot of money. Money that can be tracked.
Yeah that would be interesting
This was an amazing video wtf
Thanks I'll keep em coming
@@MetaNerdzLore I really liked how you drew some deeper critical analysis of what seems like "just a cool ship" and compared it to Luthen's personality and even his role in the wider rebellion, and the themes and ideas the ship represents. Through your video i now see the ship as a vehicle for enhancing the storytelling, not just some piece of eye-candy.
Btw the Ghost was the first ship we saw with “stealth” tech.
You should watch the legal eagle video on established titles and rethink your sponsorship if you havent already
in 3 mins and it became one of the most iconic starwars ships ever introduced in starwars movies/tv series
I’m adding this up there with one of my favorite ships
Stellar work here. A book I read with like themes was a moment of epiphany. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
I gotta start using clips more in Audible lol. Cool vid I was hoping for this one ;)
Wow videos are coming quickly. This is good
I thought it was Fondor, Kuat and Corellia that were the main producers of starships....
If tractoring and manipulating space were done at speed, I would expect it to create a form of drag on the ship, much like how a supermassive black hole will lose a bit of spin every time it ejects a stellar body, eventually causing it to collide with a binary pair partner.
I really hope this ship becomes a Lego set
the end of the URL of this video 🤣
To me with the way it's been modified its only role is recon and espionage so it's very limited in what it can do outside of that. Clearly good at getting away though. I'd imagine this isn't his only modified ship, hope he has a whole small fleet of oddballs like this.
All those redoubts. Probably has a hanger. He can stash the ship , some some new baller craft, he's rich and that's excuse enough.
Than once the ISB gets bored and forgets about it, it can make a glorious return.
I would like to see it winding up in the hands of the Mandalorian as a replacement for the Razor-Crest!! 🤠👍
I don't think luthen is a jedi but i think his lover was. Something about his big speech points to that somewhat possibility. He is not sentimental about himself since every part of him is a weapon to be used for the cause. That crystal might be the last bit of his better half.
That ship remind me of the old republic fury class interceptor. Anyone else think that?
Haha nice start to the video.
Luthen's ship was very cool, but the lightsaber wings was straight up cheesy and unnecessary. All the other details and characteristics was well thought out and well implemented into the show.
I wonder if LEGO will create other Ferrix related sets besides the tack pod 🤔
