I was in a very unhealthy, abusive relationship just recently. I knew it was very harmful but yet decided to stay in it. Why then? Why did you decide to continue though? Because of the safe, and comfort I felt, but at the same time, I was terrified he might do something to me if I left. I remember one Sunday night when he continued to play with my feelings and I finally had the boldness to say no more. And this very song started playing in the background. I felt very strong, it felt like the right thing to do, and honestly, all I can say from the experience is that we love a person so much we don't care if it's killing us. And it doesn't matter how "corny," you think this might sound right now, but you deserve so much. You don't deserve being ignored or taken advantage of.
