Drummers that go on this show always listen to the track at least once before they try it. Chad just jumped right into it after 15 seconds. Absolutely nuts.
Literally! It’s so close to the original too, his personality is funny af too haha
Its also probably the easiest song on this channel
Actually 30 seconds before to show he a drumstars🤟
@@JFTB-i8ylike you can do this 😀👍🏻💀
@@JFTB-i8y love to see you try this...🤔
16th reaction video I've watched of this and it's still entertaining and impressive!
Thanks so much for watching! Chad is a god
5:16 5:21 he anticipates a drum fill, and then revises it twice on the fly. At the end of the drumeo he gets to hear the original and its much different 10:37 , but still similar 7:12 hes all out 7:29 he realizes hes in the outro and switches lol
Also its super frowned on but you can see him ghost toeing the kick because ges leaning in on the drum where he feels it works. Crazy.
Anyone who says he knew the song doesn't realize how far his drumming was from Shannon's.
Chad smith is literally a god 🔥
A experiência conta muito ❤👍🇵🇹👋👋👋👋👌🥰
Chad Smith is a national treasure. His work in the film 'Elf' was heavenly. This joke never gets old.
He is a legend tbf haha
Larnell Lewis was amazing on Enter Sandman. I really believed Larnell hadn’t heard it before because he’s a jazz fusion drummer but more so he was raised in church with gospel/church music. Dude even turned down a tour offer from Drake after reading the material and disagreeing with the lyrics.
You could see how completely different of a process he has vs say Chad Smith.
And Jonathan “Sugarfoot” Moffett who drummed live for MJ from 83 til his death. Michael, the ever perfectionist, said “everyone makes mistakes live.. I make mistakes, the guitar makes mistakes, but not Sugarfoot!”… he’s more accurate than a goddamn metronome 😂. Madonna postponed her tour at the height of her fame for an entire year to get him to drum for her tour. Elton John had him too. He’s incredibly on point and adds small flourishes that never takes away from the lead but when your working with MJ you can’t just be there to play. You have to perform.
Edit: To elaborate on the differences between Larnell vs Chad, Chad pulls slightly back and though we don’t hear it he is following the bass line to anticipate… but he pulls slightly back at each section then just goes in 1000%. Larnell was trying to be technical about it til about halfway through and then he loosened up and had fun with it. But this is the same dude who learned an entire groups catalog on the plane ride when they called last minute and had no drummer. Then Sugarfoot has said he can’t read music, he’s from New Orleans and learned to play through improv.
Just to say there’s more than one way to skin a cat.
Had to watch this just because of the emo line from chad😂
First things first, Chad Smith is the GOAT of all things percussive. This video proves it.
I saw 30STM in Montréal on their last tour and Shannon plays the fuck out of that song. I think his skills are overshadowed by Jared’s over-the-top stage presence.
I have also thought Shannon was an immense drummer, so underrated for sure! Chad is a machine also! So good!
I subbed just because of all your stuffed animals in the background 😂 I also love thirty seconds to Mars. I danced on stage with Jared and Shannon in 2018. I kissed Jared too. Best day of my life. 😂
What a day for you! 😭 always wanted to see them myself!:) my wife’s plushy obsession has earned me a sub, yes!! 🤣 thanks for watching, subbing and commenting, it is much appreciated:)
I think you should also check out the one with the current drummer of Megadeth hearing "Mr. Brightside" for the first time.
It shows different methods on how drummers opt to learn/play their parts on drums :)
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks again for watching:)
Just uploaded the Mr Brightside reaction :) let me know what you think
You're the latest of many reactions I've watched if this. May I request you react to one of my all time favorite songs? Static X The Only 😊 also hi Ryan! Nice to meet you! I'm Ryan 😂
EITHERWAY THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SONG
It is indeed 😎
nice reaction bro.
How ever, this might be off the topic.
But seeing those stuffed animal in your room make me realize something. I'm a musician in Thailand and I have a lot of friend who play in a rock/metal band... like heavy stuff you know. And in contrast of what they do in the band and on the stage, most of them have a mellow/cute personality and most fun to hangout with. and judging from what i see, I think you are too... I find this is interesting.
That’s interesting! Thanks so much for watching :) much appreciated! People that are in metal bands tend to be super super down to earth :)
Loved your commentary. Pls do me a favor: Whenever you pause, rewind a little afterwards, so we can follow and catch up.
Thanks for the feedback! :) thanks so much!
FYI Jared and Shannon are on Instagram listening to Chad Smith play this. Hilarious 😂
Megadeath mr brightside next
Literally just uploaded it :) let me know what you think
Heyyy Ryan! ngl i would rather watch you react to technical stuff like this rather than songs , its more entertaining! but you only did a few reactions and you alredy more entertaining! go dude! good luck!
Thanks so much! Drumeo is one of my favourite channels so I will be reacting to more of this for sure :)
Who’s EMO????
And what’s the name of the tv game show?
I’ve never had appreciation for drummers until now. I didn’t even know that drummers had notes to follow, I thought it was by ear. So cool!!
Great Reaction! I’m subscribing!

You can find more of this content (that I reacted to) on the drumeo youtube channel :) thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and for subbing :) have a great day!
Your description says you are an emo singer. How can I listen to your stuff?
I have music on Spotify as well as music videos on my channel, I would recommend listening to “Ryan Soanes - Under Your Skin” :) if you search it on TH-cam it will come up, thanks so much
Bro what’s with all the stuffed animals behind you? 😂
@@jgreco7562 blame my wife for them lol
I`m usually the biggest sceptic when it comes to these kind of videos, but I can believe that Chad did not know this song. Yes, he`s a drum nerd, but he has 40+ years of musical experience. This is not the kind of song he would listen to for inspiration. Nothing against the song, I added it to my playlist. Just trying to explain how it`s plausible that a musician of his caliber might not have taken an interest in this particular song. No hate.

I probably should tbf haha
@2:10 Heres a point - if he hasnt heard the music how would he know/not know that its 30 seconds to mars?
How did Dirk never heard of Mrs Brightside?
