I personally like this transformation theme more than the original Japanese one. It feels both heroic and hopeful. Like the music is saying "Don't worry, Sailor Moon is here now. Everything will be okay."
It certainly feels much more Americanized, like taking away most of the flavor of the original music. And all your left with is a hot dog and some ketchup I guess

Oh gosh, I remember I'd always try to copy this scene when I was like 6 years old. Pretty hard when you don't have special effects, but that's okay. I loved Sailor Moon so much when it was the anime of animes. :)
I don’t think I can’t put into words how much of an impact this one transformation scene had on my childhood. I was probably 7 years old and the first time I ever saw Sailor Moon transform, I was completely mesmerized and knew right away that I had just discovered my new favorite show in the universe. And it’s stuck with me for my entire life. I get goosebumps just hearing the music!
And it was this moment right here that ALWAYS had me thinking I was a sailor scout. I wanted to be like sailor moon. God…the music alone brings back so many early morning memories of getting up to watch this before school…and crying on the mornings that I overslept and missed it.
I haven’t been up to date with all the drama behind Sailor Moon it’s Sub and Dubs but what I DO KNOW is, THIS is my childhood. The voice actors/actress, the theme song, the transformation song, the sounds of the magic, the yelling of “Mooooon prismmm POW-ER!”, ALL of THAT. That’s my childhood. That is what 4-6yr old me use to sit infront of the tv waiting for. Anticipating for😭😭 I turned on Hulu to reminisce those memories only to have thought my memories were incorrect. No. My memories were not. Thank you for making this video for those of us who have NOT forgotten what magic the TRUE OG dub brought to our childhood✨💕♥️😭
The music in the original 90s was amazing and I do miss it terribly as well as some of the original voice acting but I love that the new dubbed fixed a lot of issues ❤
The English dubbing by DIC Entertainment is THE ONLY VERSION of Sailor Moon worth watching. The Cloverway English dubbing is good but not great; however, both the DIC and Cloverway English dubbings are better than the English dubbing by Viz Media. The DIC dubbing wisely excised the filth in the Japanese anime.
I think one of the reasons the transformation sequence is amazing is despite her clumsy, silly, extroverted personality she is elegant , heroic and diligent. The music is so comforting

This was really great. This is way better than the viz dub version of sailor moon where they would add ,"make up" at the end every time they transformed. I still love the dic dub version of sailor moon too and the music was also great too.
I prefer the dub music and the dub voices, myself. But I like the Japanese voices as well. I think the music is good in some places in the sub, but sometimes it's too girly in others. I think we can all have our preferences, and the bond we have in common is that we love a magical girl in a red, white and blue sailor suit who fights for love and justice! ^^
DiC might have produced a pretty mediocre version of Sailor Moon, all things together, but it absolutely *nailed* this theme. It is forever burned into my consciousness. The sound of a hero.

And Jupiter has the lightning ⚡crackling and THUNDER ⛈ BOLT at her POWER POSE!!!!! Remind me if I'm wrong, but here's a little theory: Most people don't like the English dub because they are more accustomed to liking Japanese media immediately more than an English version of it. Therefore, some may not have even looked at the dub heavily and still dislikes it the minute some video crops up about English Sailor Moon.

I started watching the japanese version so I can compare, but I honestly don't like how the music is I think the dic music suits the transformations better. Either way Sailor Moon will always be my favourite show, english dub or not.

I think the voice acting did very well and to be honest I like Sailor Moon's and Sailor Mercury's English dubs better than Japanese. The only thing that IS better than the English dub is the Japanese doesn't cut stuff out, which really isn't all that important anyways unless yer a pervert. |I prefer english dub cuz I speak english, if I were Japanese id probably like Japanese dub.
