This is must be one of the nicest dudes on earth. Very respectful and sincere about our culture and lifestyle. Pretty much summed eveything up. We need more people like him in this world 👍🏼🇵🇷
This guy's cool. Respectful and seemed to get most of it. I wish people that come to PR were as thougtful and aware as you are Keep coming back. My family will cook for you all your favorite things. You're part of la familia now
the way some puertorricans pronounce the r diferent is because the colonialists came from the frontier between spain and portugal. if you hear someone speaking Portuguese , you going to see why
One of the best thing in our puertorrican culture is related at the time to eat....when you are sitting in a table to eat you tell everybody "buen provecho " is like Bonna Appetite in frech. I don't know how said in English I thinking the most close could be enjoy your food I guess
I feel so bad for him for that “mugging joke” experience. Being puerto rican myself and being subject to stupid humour like that from family members, i know how he feels. We are a very interesting humor people. Lol.
The "Ahí bendito" is the way we feel sorry for someone , is like we are saying "oh im so sorry"="Ahí bendito". 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 Brutal is like "awsome" and can relate as "brutal" like something huge even though "brutal" is not like a good word.
Pretty accurate brother! Thanks for the respect and you'll be welcome here anytime!!! One thing! The drink Coquito is not named after the Coqui(Little Frog that sings) it is in fact named after its main ingredient which is Coconut or Coco in spanish! But Pretty Accurate video! In general but in the center of the island that "dialect" you say is actually Andalusian which is a Spanish variation from the Castillian! The official Spain Language!
He had me laughing when he talked about how we dont pronounce our R's and how we shorten our words.. He's not lying 🤣🤣🤣... We Puerto Ricans have Big Big hearts...
Surprisingly accurate, very observant. Cheers. Only thing that surprised me is you did not notice the "tren urbano." To be fair, your grasp of transportation on the island is spot on. Cars are the norm indeed. But that train is surprisingly pretty popular. A lot of students and young professionals use it.
Pastelon is done with yellow plantain that are fried. Pasteles are mind os like tamales and they are done using green bananas , potatoes, pumpkin, green plantain sofrito and people used different combinations.of this ingredients, etc.
We do have the Puerto Rican Boa Snake which is endemic, the "Crock" you mentioned are really Caribbean Endemic "Caymans" which were introduced here during the 50's and spread in swamp areas ☝🏾We have a spider here "Guabá" which grows much larger than a tarántula ☝🏾We also have our own eagle "Guaraguao" There is wildlife here, go to San Lorenzo and you might see deers (introduced)! Driving, good heavens, you should see how they drive in Gainesville Florida lmaoooo 😂🤣☝🏾
9:21 Yes! A LOT of people have dogs or well more like abandon dogs that the community has more or less kinda of collectively taken care of. But the thing is, it's better if you learn to walk with a walking stick. Something wooden and strong, lots of people will tell you, they walk with large sticks for the sake of the dogs. Now I'm not saying to go beat every dog you see in sight but if one gets too aggressive and/or close use the stick to ward them off.
The r sound was copied from a colony of French people who lived on the island. They pronounce the r with the back of the tongue instead of the front and a Puerto Rican decided to copy them and the rest in the countryside followed them. Just listen to a french person talking in his/her language and you will know where the r comes from.
Can’t wait to move there. Visited many times and have fallen in love with Puerto Rico. Meeting my real estate agent there this winter to start property shopping. So excited to call PR home ❤️
The snake you saw is the “Puerto Rican boa” which is a native species. Their numbers are down because of indescriminate use of insecticides and exfoliant which poison the snake. They are useful as rodent catchers and they used to keep the iguana population down.
I love how much puerto rico loves its flag xd --------------------------------------------------------- Me encanta cuanto puerto rico ama su bandera xd

The dogs that he mentioned are called "Perros Satos" (Muts) or Perros Sadnoso( Mainged dogs).. they will chase and bark but 99 percent of them will not bite they just want you to go away. 🤣🤣🤣
Very observative! Everything you said is spot on. The balcony part to rest we call it Balcon. " Hay me voy al balcon tengo calor." Something that is from Campo is , before most houses you had to go up a hill now is just flat from your Balcony to yor house living room but we still say "ya voy a subir" "im going up" even if the house is not high up. 😂😂 As a kid I would get so confused when my grandmother said that
Coquito is no named after the little frog (Coquí). Coquito is named after the main ingredient which is coconut. It literally means little coconut.
This is must be one of the nicest dudes on earth. Very respectful and sincere about our culture and lifestyle. Pretty much summed eveything up. We need more people like him in this world 👍🏼🇵🇷
Where are my Puerto Rico gang?!!!!
Mentioning arroz con gandules “I don’t feel like it’s anything special”
Me: screams and cries in puertorrican
When he mentioned almost everyone had a garden I started laughing because it's true
Thank you for being so respectful of our culture. Loved the way you spoke about your experience. Your Spanish is so good.
My son is having a baby with his Puerto Rican girlfriend! She is sooooo beautiful! My grandbaby will be so cute.
Actually ‘coquito’ means ‘little coconut’ because it is the main ingredient of the drink 🥥
Thank you for being honest about the good things and bad things about our island.
I went to Puerto Rico numerous times. I enjoy their culture.

My abuela when she serves me food :Is this enough food?

Thank you for your respect for my beautiful island and my people, my culture.
It looks like this guy was a missionary, thanks for being in PR.
He really has the Coqui song imitated perfectly!
Puerto Rican Spanish is very influenced by the spanish of the Canary Islands.

Pretty respecfull and accurate for a foreigner, and good pronunciation.
Thank you very much for your respectfull way of talking when you describe our culture.Allways Wellcome to my land!
You've been very graceful in your comments. Thank you for your help.
Coquito is made of coconut (coco) and not named by the little coqui frog, the beverage made of coconut and pineapple is called piña colada.
About the horses, few people do it as their main way of transportation, most have them because they love horses.
He really knows what he's talking 🇵🇷 💙
Lmaoooo Puerto Ricans Talk a lot 😂
I'm Puerto Rican and I hate Morcilla 🤷 and very good Spanish👍
Is funny how people that come to the island always notices the sound of the coquí and we are so used to it that we barely give attention to it.
Honestly the most accurate description I have heard from a foreigner ever.
Love my island and thank you💖
Thank you for the respect. And yes, we love our food 🤣
I LOVED PASTELON TOO!!

Thanks for letting the people know the good things about us, people tend just to say just the bad things about the bad apples that we have.

Thank you for the nice comments ❤
Lol man, I understand you cuz not everybody like "morcilla".
So happy you're talking good bout our culture
As a Puerto Rican citizen, I hate cabalgatas. They only bring traffic and get in the way, it’s worst at night when you can’t see them
Pretty accurate. Except for the train detail. It exist but it's a really short route on the metro area
That's us in a nutshell. Thanks for your honest review. 🧐
Your imitation of the Coqui was on point 👌🏼
Correction. Not every house is made out of concrete. It may seem that way in some areas though. 😊
Pastelon is done with yellow plantain that are fried. Pasteles are mind os like tamales and they are done using green bananas , potatoes, pumpkin, green plantain sofrito and people used different combinations.of this ingredients, etc.
Sorry for the typos
This is so accurate for me and my family though wow.
Much respect, pretty accurate 👍

Hi
Don't feel bad, I'm 100% Boricua and I don't like Morcillas either. By bicycle was also stolen lol. Everything else I love it!
There is a target on puertorico its just on the southern part of the island
Correction hahaha coquito means small coconut, coquito is the name of the beverage
Very observative! Everything you said is spot on.
