Thanks for sharing your video, Simon.
I am curious about the concept of letting your Sageo hang like that: other styles tie their Sageo to their Himo strings etc.
Why is it that your Ryuha do not tie the Sageo, but instead leaving it hanging?
    Thanks.

For our dojo, this is individual's preference. We have sensei and students who have theirs tied or hanged. My 1st and main Sensei has his hanged out, so i follow him. Meanwhile, another Sensei has her tied, so some other students who trained with her more also have their tied. Our dojo is one that focuses on individual's growth and path rather than strictly dictates what can or cannot be done. Of course, there are basic techniques, disciplines and behaviours all have to follow. Once a student has mastered the basics, he/she is free to explore and develop his/her own way.

      @@BLACKBELTSIMON I see.
I am still curious to hear about the thought process of having it hung vs. tying it: I fully understand the concept of following ones own path in ones martial arts journey, but I do not fully understand the advantages for having the sageo hanging vs. tying.
      Thanks.
