Or depending on how dark you want the red color to be, you can also get a really good color corrector pull it out. It'll be like a reddish blonde or orangey hair color, but you could put the red over that
Great job! For color remover I recommend the one n only color remover it’s the gentle way to lift our box black. 2 rounds deep condition and color the next day.
I’m shopping this formula. I can not find 6RW and I’m guessing it’s a key color to this look. What brand did you use and or any replacement suggestions? TIA!
the band on your hair is not as bad as you think, the tone difference you had before, actually looks realyl nice with the red. if its all one color it never looks natural, so having different tones looks like it was done at the salon. wish mine looked like yours to be honest. I screwed up mine because i had dark dark auburn and I used color remover, and then had orange and blonde hair lol. I wanted to have lighter ginger or a med copper, and its almost there now but not quite. usually with blonde I find if I use a light brown and then copper or light auburn, then it goes perfect ginger red. like the blossom chick. yours is nice tho.
just had my hair done a copper red, but i want the dark you have too, so im trying it with the wella hair masks. its a temp solution, but fun to play with :D
This is a beautiful color and my hair looks similar to yours with grown out roots and lightened ends, I’m so excited to try this. Also just wanted to add that the way you spoke in the beginning was super soothing, the soft spoken and slow talking, you should consider making ASMR videos 😂
Wow I am amazed at your results! IDK how anyone (who is not a stylist...wait maybe are you a stylist?) can come up with these combinations of colors. Did you ever use rosewood before? How did you know what color that would turn out? As a natural redhead that is went prematurely grey...I was always afraid to color! But this is impressive! ☺👍Before I forget you look gorgeous as a redhead! This hair color on you really brings out your eyes!! 💗🙏🌺
I have colored my hair the same way as you and got the banding too because before I colored my hair dark brown. Now it shows more at the roots that I've colored my auburn/copper and the lengths are still more dark. My mom said that I should wait 4-6 weeks and then color it the same way as I did. I also used 20 vol and hair dye. Will it lighten a bit more if I color it the same way I've done? Now it is more of a brownish color in the lengths because it did lift but not enough.
If you have the dark banding because of previously colored hair it won’t lift without color remover or bleach, unfortunately. You’ll have to bleach that dark banding to remove it out of your hair, that’s what I ended up doing at least. You just need to lift the banding enough that it’s a reddy/orange color NOT blonde/yellow since you are coloring it red/copper. Once you do that you can color it with the concoction of colors.
You should overlapped because this would have blended, I always do 1/2”. If it was dark to light ok but you have a dark 1” ring around your hair, I do however ado the colour. It’s tricky when your at hem colouring it yourself.
This is the exact color I've been wanting! Only down fall i went to go order the dyes but they don't have 6rw any recommendations on what to substitute it for?
You don’t have to bleach your hair, what you should try to do though is color oops the black out as much as possible, and then put your color in. I have the black is Tara in the world and I color oops it out and then put Loreal HiColor Auburn in and it came out gorgeous
What if I used a demi color? It's a maybe level 5/6 brown. And I have a pixie cut. How do I do the ratio of the colors you used? And do you think I should bleach my hair first? 🤔
You shouldn’t have to bleach your hair first if your hair is currently natural(not dyed). You should be able to use the color and a certain level of developer to lift it. Depending on how much lift you want will determine which level developer you use! As far as Demi color goes, I’m not sure.. 😬 I tend to use permanent most of the time!
So last month I dyed my hair with the ion charcoal black but to my surprised it didn’t last that long and now it looks brown. Do I need to bleach it or should I just get a color remover?
Hi, love your hair. My hair is very dark level 4 virgin and I’m trying to get the same results. Can I use the same dye without bleaching my hair and get similar results?
Thank you!! Depending on how light you want it, I used 20 volume developer because I only wanted 2 levels of lift. So if you have a level 4 and you use 20 vol it’ll lift it to a level 6, if you want it a little lighter you can use 30 vol developer to lift it to a level 7!
So you didn’t bleach it? I definitely gotta try this cuz my hair was previously lightened when I did my first round of copper so I’ve been trying to figure out if it’ll go over my bat brown when I go to redo it
I bleached my mids and ends because they were previously dyed DARK dark brown! But my root area was virgin hair! I was able to just use the developer to lift that part!! 🥰
My hair is lighter than yours but I did use a box dye on it. Would I still have to lighten it? I really don’t want to use bleach as it dries out my hair tremendously. Or could I just use a 30 volume developer? What would you recommend?
You would likely have to remove the box color first! Either with bleach or some sort of color remover. Im not sure how much lighter your hair is than mine, but if you tried coloring your hair on top of already colored hair it probably won’t show up or it could show up a different color because of the box color that is already on your hair.
If I’m blonde with 1 inch dark blonde roots (natural ginger) would this be okay? Would the color turn out as natural red looking or is it going to end up much brighter? I want a natural red
I can’t tell you that it’ll look exactly the way it turned out on me since you are starting with different color hair than me! But I believe it would turn out more of a natural color. Just make sure you use a low volume developer, vol10 or lower since you will likely only want to deposit color & not lift your color.
I’m not sure how the results will turn out with a different shade. I used 6G because the undertones are more golden than nn which is neutral! If you try it let me know how it goes😌
Do you know what color you used on the bottom of your hair? You mentioned level 4, was just curious if you know what tone you used. It looks soooooo good with the new color.
Thank you!! 🥰 I used Matrix Colorinsider permanent color 4N, it is a professional brand so I’m not sure if you can find it on Amazon or somewhere! You could honestly probably just use Ions 4N shade, it would likely be the same or close to the same.☺️
If your hair is virgin hair, which means it’s not lightened or dyed, you should be able to achieve this look by using the color and cream developer! Depending on how light and bright you want the color you can do 30 volume developer, if you don’t want it as light you can use 20 volume developer 😊
Whatever colors you used on your hair use those for your roots. Depending on how dark your roots are you can use a higher volume developer. For me I used 20 volume developer on my roots mixed with the colors and for my mids & ends I used the colors mixed with 10vol developer. Let me know if that makes sense? 🤍
I do apologize if someone has asked this already. I have hair extensions that I use and thusly meaning a lot of hair; I’m so lost on how much of everything I will need. Roughly 22 inches and thick. I hope to hear from you! Thank you in advance!
@@ramonalimon7944 AH!!! I’m so excited for you! I’ve never got more compliments on my hair than I have these last two weeks. Let me know how it turns out. 😁🤎

Virgin(natural) dark hair can be lightened without bleach. But my hair was previously colored dark dark brown, so I had to bleach it to remove the dark color pigments. Once the hair is lightened to a certain level then it can be colored over. ❤️
