Dante may not look like 100 percent from the game, but he does look like a very pretty man. in fact from some angle he looks like a masculine Milla Jovovich lol.

Great review! I love your voice and how you explain every detail. I have the 1.0 Dmc3 Dante. I wasn't a fan of the hair sculpt or color of it. Even the 2.0 still doesn't have his white hair. For mine I decided to make a polyester wig for him. I also kept the original hair sculpt I repainted white too so you can switch. I still hope we get a proper DMC 4 Nero and Dante at some point, but we'll see.
It looks like they used a new body for the 2.0 thus the difference in height. It's just odd to me though because he looks significantly shorter than the 1.0 and against the DMC3 Asmus Vergil (which uses the same body as the 1.0 to my knowledge) would look out of scale. Debating whether I should still pick this guy up.
It has come to my attention that Asmus Toys released an upgrade pack containing the 2.0 head sculpts and new Devil Arms exclusively for the 1.0. Sometimes I wish TH-cam would let me edit the videos because now I'm really not giving Asmus enough credit. Either ways, if you have the 1.0, the upgrade pack is probably a better option, which can still be the case if you've never owned a Dante before but want to make sure he stands at the same height as Vergil. Though if I had any skills, I'd go for a 2.0 and just increase the length of the ankle joints to match Vergil. But I suck at modding so I'll probably mix and match by putting the 2.0 head sculpt and costume on the 1.0 body 😅
I dont know if you still reply to comments of such old vid but I was wondering if you could make a video on how to remove body parts and add others. My dante dmc 3 just came and im scared as hell to remove his hands/head, im so worried i might break him or something, do you have any tips?

If the leather is already breaking down, then selling the 1.0 might be a blessing in disguise. And hang onto your add-on's because who knows...these will eventually sell out so maybe they'll fetch for a pretty penny down the road 😉 I actually just found out about the upgrade pack. Might pick one up myself and add some life to the 1.0.

Hello there! Yes, the clothes are removable but it's not really intended to be since they're very meticulously put together. You'll have to start by undoing the harness, which is a lot of work so I wouldn't recommend. Sorry for the late replay 😔
hey bro awesome review! btw my dante just arrived and it turned out, the box doesnt have a tape seal and im just wondering are yours also like that? i never buy asmus stuff before and im just afraid that im getting duped(i buy new but got send a secondhand one instead) but if yours are also not sealed then i guess its just the way it is from the factory, again thanks in advance!
Mine did not come with a sticker or tape seal, and that's for both the red figure box and the weapons upgrade pack. They were neatly wrapped in a clear bag when I took them out of the brown shipper box. So I'm guessing Asmus Toys didn't seal this release. But that's a totally legit concern. If you got this directly from Asmus Toys or a retailer that you dealt with before (and fully trust), then you're likely OK. The bait and switch scams you're thinking of tend to be more common in private sales for figures that are long sold out. Still though. Can't be too careful 😉 Hope that helps, and thanks for watching~

Hello friend! Yeah, Asmus Toys isn't my favorite brand in this hobby either. They have more misses than homeruns. This one and the Crown Series Gandalf the Grey are the only figures I'd recommend.
Ok, so version 1 was released around 2020 (no longer in production, do not buy if someone tells you version 1 is still on pre-order), and version 2 was released in 2022 (should be fully released by now, so I'm not sure how you are still seeing this item as pre-order). The most obvious difference between the two versions is the head sculpts. Note that version 2 is the only one that comes with the screaming portrait as seen on 0:44 The Luxury Edition is also exclusive for version 2, which can be identified by the black package as seen on 0:23 that contains additional weapons and rack. Hope that helps~

@@GundamGunpla Going by strictly from a matter of my personal opinion, I'd say the DMC3 version 2.0 is the "best", but only because DMC3 is my favorite title in the franchise. In terms of best likeness by Asmus, I'd say that honor goes to the DMC5 Dante. The DMC4 is dead last for me. But that's excusable as it was Asmus' earlier works. Bottom line, though, is that I think Dante could look a lot better if he's done by another maker like Limtoys or GameToys. But for a franchise that's waning in popularity, it's difficult to tell if anyone else will pick up the license. Hope that helps~
That's a very good point. While I don't think that Asmus' DMC3 Vergil looked a whole lot like the in-game model, but at least Vergil and this new Dante 2.0 look like twins 🤔

Asmus released a video once showing that their leather is stronger. So far mine have all held up good compared to HT, etc.

I think they use the same face with the young vergil figure bc in dmc3 they were considered twins so his face might be a little too weird
