"All Sonic Characters wear gloves and shoes, no exception" Except Sticks The Badger seems to think otherwise by not wearing gloves... And maybe we can think about Big The Cat and Tikal The Echidna who both wear sandals insteads of shoes...
I am not quite understanding the guide lines. There are three, one for his eyes, muzzle, and "ears" but the one for the ears looks to be the top of his eyes instead. Also, the one for his eyes, is that where we are centering his pupils? Does it move depending on where the pupils are? Like how would the guide lines work if he was looking more up or more down?
Yes, the top-most one is probably just for the top of the eyes, to make sure they don't cover the whole face. And the one for the pupils seem like it's for where the pupils would be centered if Sonic was holding a neutral expression while looking wherever he's looking. Though, for the eyes one, I think it also just helps to draw it because it's handy to have a horizontal line in the middle showing where Sonic is looking in general
If you invert his bean torso, it makes a good design for fat characters, such as a bear avatar for example, without making him look like Big the Cat or that polar bear character from Sonic The Fighters.
I still cannot for the life of me get Sonics head to feel like it matches his body, it's either too big, too fat or too small. Plus I can't seem to get his arms and legs to be the right length! I always draw them too long and can never get them to look right any shorter!
