    I’ve been a maschine user for a while. Been looking into the mpc because now I work on a mostly dawless setup but the one loose end is the maschine needing my computer on. Been thinking about a mpc one with the new update … seeing this video completely made my mind up… I can have the best of both worlds in the mpc. If only it worked with vst’s it would be the absolute holy grail of units.

    i'm a "Maschine Head" & became that way years ago after a long relationship with MPC 2000XL (attached to the zip drive), then the MPC 2500... FL Studio (around #7).. some other Akai controller that i immediately brought back to the store.. then i went & started funkin with Maschine (1st the Mikkro & then Mk1 to Mk3).. the functionality, the dopeness & quality of the SOUNDS, The PADS (that slay Akai's legendary but too unresponsive pads) .. with Maschine you can use plugins & expansions to their fullest extent.. its not reduced to a sound module.. the Browsers capabilities & the fact that you can tag, & search for things in the Maschine Controller & software WAY MORE EFFICIENTLY than MPC's controller will ever allow, & did i mention THE PADS that allow you to really adjust the touch sensivity.. to the point where you can just caress the pad softly & still get sound (can't do that on the MPC. Y'all know it's true).. & so its 2020.. & after all the Hoopla peaked my interest i took the bait of the MPC Live being a portable, battery operated make beats when you sit on the toilet, or where ever.. & honestly, i also wanted like a fiend to kick Operating Systems like Microsoft to the curb & divorce them from my creative life.. So i went & spent my hard earned on the MPC Live.. & i regret it.. its not truly as standalone as being marketed.. i find the Pads still suck, & are too unresponsive to do my finger drumming workflow on, & for something that is supposed to be a toss in your backpack carry along device, its heavy as the Fuhk... & now i have to sell this heavy brick, because i can't take it back.. i said all of that to say... WHY... WHY OH WHY would anyone want or NEED to spend $25 ??? for a piece of Software to clone NI's Maschine expansions to get them to work on an Akai Controller in such a limited fashion... when you can just keep your workflow on Maschine & have a way doper fuller workflow, with functionality that does way more .. With the sound quality, userbility, the insane effects, & the way that all the expansions & plugins correlate on Maschine .. the ability to use 3rd party pluglins to their fullest extent, in the manner they were designed to be used... when you take them over to Akai's MPCs you're degrading the functionality .. for real... so my question is serious, i don't get it.. why go backwards, why "convert over".. am i missing something???

    • @kennyhypa73

      LOL everyone is entitled to how they feel, for me i used the mpc 2000 back in 1999 i released 3 garage tracks with it using only a external korg m1 for chords, it changed my life and i had only really skimmed the surface of what it could do, then unfortunately i had to move over to logic on mac which i love for creative processes and recently I've kitted it out with a heap of plugins etc and tracks are sounding good and I'm due to release some more material this year, NOW i have a MPC X and i ONLY require to use the MPC in standalone mode as i believe its not a drum machine if its hooked up to a computer i guess im old school but many classic hip hop and house was made on the MPC using only external keyboards for bass and chords ie J Dilla, Alchemist , Hi Tex , 9th wonder, Premier the list is endless hell you can even just use a turntable and a MPC so all that your talking is irrelevant to making hit records or even just good music (some of the best finger drummers i have seen so far use MPC and also other instruments ie a small roland drum machine )because its what you feel comfortable with that will assist you on your journey and half these guys are just internet and you tube producers no one don't seem to really be hungry for making and putting out music or that would be their main focus . im more than happy with the MPCX its a 3000 with a fucking mac strapped to its back, hell yeah ! and so far i see so much potential in the MPCX and again I've only just skimmed the surface but i agree the expansions i hear for maschine are real sick but wouldn't be worth to switch over to machine for nah so this Program is god send for MPC heads .
      Ps if you have any links for good finger drummers please send links as im learning myself .... pad are fine as i bang the fuck out them any way lol

    • @reoscorpio
      @reoscorpio 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kennyhypa73 i know the MPC is Legend (& i'm not hating that), its closely associated with Hip Hop so it ain't gonna stop.. i did say i started with the MPC 2000XL. & i spent years with that wishing it had a real way to save down my work (other than on that Zip Drive. after a while you couldn't even find the disks for that dinosaur). So when the 2500 dropped, GOT IT.. i had bought another MPC along the way .. & loved that little MPK Mini keyboard with the pads on it.. (i bought both the 1st one & then the updated one with the red modulation handle) so along with getting the MPC Live, Akai has gotten a few dollars from me LOL. But for the reasons i stated in my epic comment above... i'm not feeling the Live - especially the pads.. After doing the damn thang on Maschine, the MPC leaves a whole lot to be desired. i really wanted to have a portable option that i could slang around with me (other than my Ipad with Beatmaker 3), but it doesn't do it for me (for the reasons that i stated above in my epic comment.. hahaha .. & what you said about "bangin' the fuck out out them" pads.. with the MPC thats needed.. but i need to be able to Play my Pads like its an instrument.. i like to vary the volume (velocity) on my drums - especially the Kick & Snares.. not just have a fixed volume for every beat.. (thats why i NEVER paint in notes or use the step sequencer. i want my beats to sound Live & not mechanical.. (i know that different than what alot of other go for). So the MPC Live doesn't cut it for me.. because as you said .. you need to "Bang the fuck out" of them pads to get a sound... & i know everyone doesn't put their brush strokes on the canvas the same way.. So more power to you... i'm going to cut this short.. because its getting long again.. hahaha Peace

    Is there a way you can attach a jpeg photo to your kits per folder so that this photo is setup the way akai does it with there expansions or do you have to use the mpc software.

    Hi Ave, Question: can I transfer workflow between MPC ONE to Beatmaker 3 vice versa. Example: I'm making a beat on mpc one then transfer the beat to Beatmaker 3 to continue the workflow to go...then maybe back in the mpc one?..let me know. Thanks

    Yo!Ave,thanks for exposing knowledgable info,once again Fam .....My question of the day is can you attach a MPEG/JPEG etc..file to the expansion pack when creating it ?....

      If you have mpc software there is an expansion builder which makes what you are asking about very straight forward. You can import a thumbnail etc and it will appear in the expansion browser

      Ave Mcree I think that most people miss that part about the MPC expansion builder that comes with the MPC. You have to check install when installing the mpc software and it will be a separate app. They had it out with the Renaissance and I was making all kinds of packs and putting crazy pics on them but after a while I lost interest in doing it and just started naming the programs that I created and saving them in a separate file.

      You can do it with the Expansions builder from the MPC software. That way is will show up in the expansions veiw on the MPC.

    Will this help with my problem ? I have a Native Instruments A49 keyboard and all the softwear that comes with it inc Komplete Kontrol. I also have MPC studio 2 controler, and the MPC softwear which also comes with it. Its driving me mad, as I want to USE the Softweare/sounds within the Komplete Kontrol Native intstruments and my A49 Keyboard along with MPC beats and sound inside the MPC Studio system. The MIDI in/out and the settings and the directors of where stuff is, is NOT easy, in fact it seems most of the time, either one works and other don't, or visa versa. then the stupud keyboard best known to its self decideds its not going to work, as some settings are off or wrong, its just not playing ball, Does this make half sense where I am coming from. spent hours and hours and hours no it, I can't work out, it messes with my head.
    Will this this system help me sort these setup issuse out by automating most or all the above

    I got this BM3 and it works but have one problem. Two Maschine kits that I’ve tried, the HiHats sound weird...kind of distorted, or wrong bit rate or something. Not sure if it is a BeatMaker 3 issue or when it converts the kit. I couldn’t find a contact number or email to ask a question. Any suggestions?
