It boggles my mind the idea of someone keeping a child purely as an object to feed drugs and use as a punching bag. This case sounds something that someone wrote for a movie. Absolutely unthinkable what some people are capable of.

I watch your stories to constantly recognize and remind me that there IS HOPE for the family to turn itself around IF, and only IF, the parents get clean off meth.
I was able to get clean off my addiction, and get away from the physical abuse for the better of the both of us. And while I could NEVER see abusing my child physically, or giving them the drugs I'd been doing, I copped the best I knew how. Parents helped me at the time, we had clean food, water, a roof over our heads, clean clothes, a regular school curriculum, doctor appointments, etc. My son always had toys, trips to the park, daily routine of finishing homework, etc.
I always knew couples like this.... I wasn't too far off... I was a mess. My son's now 25 years old, I've admitted to him my past addictions and truths. I was very lucky to get off the soul-stealing crap, get help for addiction and therapy to get away from DV. Been clean 22 years. I'm one of the lucky ones. Very scary.... In a way I guess I watch because I was too far gone to have mentally helped my 'friends children' at the time, so paying tribute to these wonderful souls that were denied a good life is the only way I can apologize?
What most people don't understand, is that when a drug has you too far in, YOU DO NOT CARE. That's why it's an addiction. You can "want" to be clean, BUT unless you actually have family to help you, people to help carry you away from the drug, the scene, the people.... It's a 9 out of 10 circumstance you can not escape.
So before you judge, you have to understand the obsessive mental hold these drugs have on your brain.
I NEVER thought I'd be addicted. I was sooooo wrong. I had people to pull me out. Not many do, and the vicious cycle goes, around and around. Meth addiction is the literal term for insanity.

Right? "I hurt because I was hurt" translates to "I was always able to hurt but now I feel vindicated". Morals are the issue, and the more abuse usually the less morals and principles. Even those who seem to have a normal childhood it's noticeable within their emotional and mental wellbeing

I came to write this exact comment, yet you had done so on the first comment.
In my head I was thinking, now you know how much pain your son was in.
Why, why? Why do adults ( parents ) treat them this way.
Normally, the children are toddlers or around 5 yrs old.
Not that it's better by any means but I would imagine toddlers would think this is every one's life.
To think of an 11 year old that knew he had a grandmother who loved him, and even his mom at one point, thus hurts even more.
Sorry, I'm rattled, I may not be coherent.
      Breaks my heart.

@missmissy_90 I think a lot of the problem is parents don't understand how children learn, how their brains develop, why they do the things they do. For example, the parents that get mad when a child pees their pants- they get angry as if the child is doing it on purpose out of spite?!? 'So and so" is already potty trained @ 3 & you're 4 & you're peeing you're pants, so you must be doing it to piss me off!"
Or when a 1-2 year old keeps throwing their bottle on tue ground, then crying they want it back- that is them learning "cause & effect" their trying to learn if they keep throwing it, will mommy/daddy keep giving it back, or will something else happen the 20th time i throw it.
But these parents don't understand that, & get angry.
I think everyone-parent or not- should he required to take a child development & parenting class. & I feel it would cut these cases in at LEAST half. If course there would still be those that are just plain evil, but I feel a lot of the time, it's that they plain don't understand.

I hate hearing them say "the community came together for the child" when these children were left by their community to be in these terrible situations. So many people saw the horrible situation and called to have the system that is supposed to provide protection to do nothing. In the end we get "thoughts and prayers" and no meaningful changes 😢

    • @obsessedWMistyDay
      @obsessedWMistyDay 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +66

That is so very true but did you or did you not hear them say that people showed up even if they never knew the kid? Not everyone knows everyone. Yes the people that were close and knew about it should feel horrible but if they called then they did something. It wasn't the community it was the system. At that point after the child's gone all you can do is give your ”thoughts and prayers” because it's obvious that the government won't do anything about it.

When my sister was more suitable, the kid went with the dad. When the dad was more suitable, the kid went with my sister. Multiple agents made decisions only hearing one side or the other, and even the judges would not hear cases brought before them… they made their decision without a trial, behind closed doors. It’s not insufficient personnel, it’s inept at best, and malevolent at worst, here. Bunch of power tripping, egomaniacal agents/judges or morons who can’t suss out what’s true when it’s presented. Bar is too low for these positions… if you watch this channel a bit, you’ll see how incompetent and corrupt the system is, here. Listened to a case earlier this week, where once a kid died, they purged the evidence that showed they’d been informed about the heinous abuse a kid was enduring, because it showed they knew, but chose not to intervene.

The "mom" went shopping for the day and left all the kids home alone. The 12 y o didnt know she left because she was sleeping. The baby fell from the window, the 6 y.o told the other child and they called the mom she told them bring her back upstairs before calling 911 and say she fell off her bunk bed. There was no moving her with how severe her injuries were. Even the cops and ems were crying at the scene. She had multiple cps reports and they didnt do anything to help those kids.

Because so many cultures, including western cultures like the US, UK, AUS, NZ, Canada, etc, still socialise girls to believe that unless they have a man, ANY man, they're incomplete, unloveable, unattractive. So many women still hold this belief, even after seeing how worthless so many blokes truly are (and I'm saying that as a bloke myself), and end up doing everything they can to hold onto these worthless loser men, even at the expense of their own dignity and safety, and those of their kids.
Also, as rent prices remain ridiculously high and home-ownership is nothing but a pipe dream to so many, having a boyfriend live with them is a source of even a bit of money towards rent, food, cigarettes, alcohol....and yes, illegal drugs too. People in jobs that pay only the minimum wage cannot afford rent on even a tiny rat's hole of a flat without sharing that space with another adult who is at least bringing in *some* money. People on disability get far below the poverty level, as do people on social welfare rolls who are not disabled. Having two adults at least doubles the money they're getting each month. If disability and social welfare provided a fairer amount, fewer mums would feel that they had to tolerate living with some violent, drug-addicted thug who hurts them and their kids just to keep a roof over their heads.

This happened in my hometown and unfortunately, close to where i live currently. Thank you so much for telling Logan's story. I think about Logan everytime I pass and go down Kenley Ave. Everytime i pass that abandoned house the car was found in front of. I live off the same road Kenley runs off of. I frequent the whataburger that can be accessed easily for me by going down Kenley. I'll never forget the run-in I had with Stormy in the whataburger drive-thru. That whataburger is literally right next door to the Red Roof Inn. The red roof inn hauntingly looms over you while you're in the line. It was snowing that night. She had to have been out on bail and I didn't know it was her at the time. She knocked on my window. I thought she was going to ask for money or for food. Nope. She asked for a ride to the hotel up the road (not the Red Roof Inn. There are a lot of hotels right there and there's one on Old Iowa Park Rd and Kenley. That's the one she was talking about) she got really close and told me i had pretty hair. Every hair on my neck said "whut😳." She didn't know it , but my husband was on the phone and he was immediately like NOPE. I said im sorry, rolled the window up, and she went to the car behind me.I went through the drive-thru , paid, and told them about her going up to the patrons. They made it seem as if they had already gone out there and talked to her. I got my food, left, and when I turned the corner of the building to leave, there she was, like she had been waiting for me. Freaked me out so bad.
At the time this happened, the town knew about Logan. I remember because when I was on my way home from that encounter, still freaking out, I strangely started thinking of him. My oldest son was a year younger than him when this happened and i was so emotionally affected by hearing about it. But I wasn't sure if it was her for sure or not. See, I had googled the case again to see a picture of her. At the time, only the mugshot from Vegas was up. She was bruised and swollen and just looked different. But once I saw the updated one, and every picture afterwards, I'm 100% sure it was her now. Between the drug use and the beating, she is obviously permanently affected. So yeah, she didn't look like that when I saw her.
It is absolutely spine-chilling how she stuck around the same area they killed Logan in. Just, meandering. Asking for rides. Right where she tortured her baby.
I know YT doesn't like a lot of things to be said on here, so I understand why creators can't tell all of the stuff that happened to them, but this isnt even everything these poor children suffered.
    Fly high, Logan.
    You are so loved.

The same thing happens far too often. It happened to me as a child... my parents allowed a post-surgical infection that happened after extensive facial reconstructive surgery to nearly kill me before driving me over three hours to a hospital in a city where no one knew them to get me treatment. I was in the hospital nearly 6 weeks, and a lot of the surgical work that had been done to improve the functionality and appearance of my face was undone due to the infection... and I was left with a great deal of scarring and loss of tissue, muscle, and nerve function on top of it. I had to have many more facial surgeries later to try to undo that damage, and they were never wholly successful.
I remember bits and pieces of the night I was driven three hours away from home while so very sick.. remember my mother wailing, bawling over me, making empty promises, and my father nervously pacing, leaving the room for endless cups of coffee he never bothered to finish.
There are far too many kids like myself, like Logan, like his sister. This was true in the '60's, when I was born, and it's true now. While we may have progressed in some ways, we're still lagging pathetically, criminally behind in others.

    • @WesternBlur
      @WesternBlur 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Why didn’t the courts give him custody? You’d be the first person advocating to always give custody to the mom anyway.
I know you’re desperate to blame the real father in these cases, but that’s quite a stretch.

@@WesternBlur I would never suggest giving custody to a parent just because of their sex. I believe generally custody should be 50/50 and if there are issues with substance abuse then that parents should only have supervised visits. But I stand by what I said the father should have been more active and his children's lives.

You can start a new family and still call every few days, or at least every week, to talk to your children and make sure they're doing well. Dad dropped the ball, and since CPS didn't act, his concern might have been the deciding factor that saved his son's life.

I almost never leave comments on videos, but I really wanted to thank you both, Yergy and Drewby, for the effort you put in bringing a voice to all these angels and giving visibility to their stories. Some of the cases have definitely turn my heart into a little ball with the cruelty some of these monsters have towards innocent children and babies, but it is remarkable and I have the outmost respect for the way you have to present the case always honouring the victims and giving more visibility to who they were intead of those who took their lives. Your work is truly amazing and I'm so glad I found your channel. Best wishes all the way from Canada 🇨🇦
