This was definitely a big change for Metallica. If you want, heavy speed thrash metal, they're the kings. If you want versatility with a slower tempo, they can do that too, very well. Even a little country, they got that too (check out 'Mama Said')
Glad you checked this one out! It's one of my favorites by Metallica. Two other songs with a different vibe that I really like are 'The Memory Remains' and 'Low Man's Lyric'. Hope to see you react to them one day, along with the many other great Metallica songs you're going to discover. I subscribed just to watch you on this journey. Bring more soon!
Yep told you so. They did two albums with the San Francisco symphony orchestra and they are absolutely amazing. Call of Ktulu ! It's my very favorite instrumental on both records! It's based on a story by HP Lovecraft about an ancient, giant, mythical, psychic, sea monster. LOL. You know movies like the thing and aliens and the mist? Those were inspired by HP Lovecraft😂
These sounds mesh so well because Metallica composes their music like a classical composer would. They are truely modern day Mozarts. Their music has movements within it, not the "newer" style of verse-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus structure most modern songs follow. Thats why they have so many beat changes, or transitions, within their music. Two more must listens Creeping Death live in Moscow (Enter Sandman was sedate compared to Creeping Death) and The Thing That Should Not Be live in Seattle 1989.😊
These guys have their own sphere…..they set the bar and all other artists are challenged to match Metallica’s otherworldly level 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘

Metallica kills it. They have like 5 bad songs out of 14 or so albums with all bangers
