When I moved house we packed ourselves suitcases for moving week and just lived out of that. Just all the important bits, like you would for a holiday. Also pack an arrival day box of all the important bits you’ll need, like tools to build furniture, toilet paper, hand soap, mugs, coffee etc. Good luck!!

I can't believe how much that moving company was gonna charge. I think everything happens for a reason. Even though it was causing some stress, it allows you more time and less stress. Really can't wait to see the house tour.

1300!?! I hired a Luton lorry for 8 days and took it over to Ireland for a few days and that cost £500. Jesus they were taking the mickey! Also doing it yourself means you will be less worried about your belongings too. So glad your finally moving! Loving the move vlogs xx

I have moved far too many times throughout my life and been lucky enough to only cry once and it was in my house I'm in now . I have never been fortunate to have my forever home so I am sending you big hugs and telling you that you are going to be okay and by now it will be nearly over so enjoy your new home xxxx
We call them “junk drawer” and they’re always located in the kitchen. I always designate the smallest draw for my junk drawer, that way I force myself to go through it frequently😅 Moving is such a task. We’re always so relieved when it’s done, aren’t we? Then it’s the unpacking🥴 Hang in there Gemma, you’re almost there😀
Ohhh that actually made me tear up I hope you keep letting us see you grow into your home for years to come unfortunately I've got a cancer that can't be cured although I am in remission at the moment and I hope it lasts for years they keep an eye on me so that's good. Anyway I'm so happy for you and I hope you have many happy memories in the years to come in your lovely house xxx
Dont forget to thank you solicitor. Weve been really busy this last year and a box of chocs never go amiss. People gift to est agents but its the solicitor that does all the hard work.
What is a solicitor and estate agent? I'm thinking the equivalent of that in the US is the bank providing the loan, and the one who helps find the house. ??
@@dawnshipley1243 an Estate Agent in the Uk lists the house/property for sale and arranges viewings for buyers then takes any offers and negotiates between house owner and potential new buyer. Once a price has been arranged you need a conveyancing solicitor in the uk who checks the title. No missing information or broken covenants. We also rederm mortgages if there is one or if a person is buying cash we have to make sure thry have the said lump and its legitimate and not from money laundering. We work with the other solicitor on the otherside and then exchange contracts and then complete. If we act for a buyer. We then have to register the property for the new owner(s) on the Land Registry in UK and if you have a mortgage its called a charge and will say name of mortgage provider

As a trainee solicitor currently doing mostly conveyancing I get your worries for wanting to complete by the 30th. But let me tell you from your solicitors point of view omg it was well busy and boy are we glad that the stamp duty holiday has ended lol the stress was so real never had that many completions in one day lol 😅😅 congrats for the new house 🏠

I'm so glade to hear you are finally moving. We moved last weekend and hired a van for 24h, saved a lots of money. It was very stressful time but now we are in our house and we just love it. Good luck and everything will be fine 🙂

When we moved we had Hanger Boxes for Wardrobe clothes 👍 Plus 2x Cases, 1 for clothes for 3 days before moving with all toiletries in & Second one with fresh clean clothes, etc + 2x Glasses & Champers 🍾🥂.
Also a couple of boxes with Bedding, Towels, food bits, coffee, etc, mobile chargers. All your Emergency items. HELPED SO MUCH 👌👌

As I started watching this video my heart hurt for you because you seem so overwhelmed and moving is very overwhelming but I just know everything is going to work out fine it'll be okay as I watch the next few days I was getting more and more excited for you You work so hard packing everything God bless you and Jamie worked hard in the storage building a few minutes from your new home.

Loved you two walking into the house with Jamie carrying you and seeing that kitchen area with those doors that open up to your patio and yard was incredible. Can't wait to see the rest I know you're going to make it look beautiful. I wish I lived closer to you I would have loved to come and help you pack and do all that but I'm in the USA.

Oh man I feel for you with this moving stress. We had to do this in a scramble last summer during Covid, moving ourselves, in the hottest weather, with no AC. You’re doing great though, and obviously it’s so worth it. You got this! Also, unpacking/first night in new home hack: Do your bed first. Fully made up. It makes for an amazing place to fall into when your exhausted at the end of the moving day.
That's the joy of moving - that it is stressful. I was meant to move the day that lockdown came in last March, and so half of my stuff was in storage and the other half cluttered up my living room till middle July. Congrats on moving, you (and Jamie) should be so proud of yourselves for your hard work that has gotten yous this far xxx
P.S. cant wait to see what you do for Christmas this year xxx
