I've never seen a town in the middle of no where with so much traffic!!! Davenport is a very nice area though! Check out Old town they have some real cool car shows.
I just moved to Melbourne, FL, but just W of 95. I like being 15-20miles off the beach here. I’ve got 60’ trees all over my yard but still close enough to everything. I like being closer to C. Florida for the same reasons you all do! Your vids helped us make out minds up to move to FL, so thank you.
Please talk more about Davenport, I feel like your video was based more on what’s 30min away and further. We are going there tomorrow to visit some builders and see some model homes. Thanks for the great videos!
Hey Mauricio! Thanks for your comment! We made a whole video about what’s IN Davenport. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/7kU8VVo0neM/w-d-xo.html I am a licensed realtor here in central FL! Please message me on Facebook/Instagram if you need anything at all!
First and foremost, I just discovered your channel a few days ago and love it. It's funny that you are from Davenport because that is the city that my family and I are moving to. We went down in February of 2020 to look at houses in different communities. By the time we got back to CT where we currently live at, Covid shut things down. We've rented a house next door in Clermont back in 2011 and fell in love with the whole area. We always went back to that same area almost every other year since. It is close to everything. Davenport definitely has many beautiful communities. We will be moving sometime in the summer or fall of this year. Who knows, maybe we'll be neighbors. Lol. Thank you for having your channel. Very informative for those who are not familiar with Florida. My advice to everyone like you guys have mentioned is do your homework like we have for the last 10 years. Can't wait to move and leave the snow and cold behind.
Thanks so much for your well thought comment! As the video says, we do truly love the area as well! And you hit it right on the head, we can’t stress enough how important it is to do your homework! If we can be of any assistance to you at all, please let us know! Feel free to message us on any of our social media’s!
I hear from reliable sources that all those places you mentioned such as disney might come up as 20-30 minutes on your gps but in real life take much longer.
I moved to Davenport from the NE region and have been here about a year now. I love Davenport but I would say it’s growing very quickly. I expect it’s because it’s a great location being close to Disney, Orlando, and Tampa. Traffic on i-4 can be rough but most of central FL is fairly busy unless you live in a rural part. Schools are hit or miss as well. Some very good and some not so much from what I have heard.
I want a house tour! Obviously staying in Davenport limited your house search so what specific things were on your "must have list" when buying your home?
We are actually renting this home. We were really looking for a home that would give us an extra room for an office...and of course the pool is nice too!
I lived in Davenport for almost 16 years, now. Before that, grew up in the Dr. Phillips area in Orlando. My parents still live in the same house in Dr. Phillips area. Davenport now reminds me of Dr. Phillips (in terms of growth) back in the 80s and early 90s hence all the traffic but there are a lot of backroads to avoid I-4 mess. I'm glad I moved here. The location is great for daytrips to the parks or beaches. Even the state parks are close. Only sad part they destroyed over 6 orange groves surrounding our subdivision for new housing development, but we do have a protected nature reserve behind our subdivision with great views, although sometimes the wildlife likes to visit our neighborhood. lol Oh well, #floridalife
It is a bummer about the Orange groves! At least there are still some in the area....and yes, the Florida wildlife is fantastic! We love seeing all of the critters, as long as they stay out of the house! 😂😂😂
When I first saw the word Davenport - I thought Iowa! Silly me. I can hardly wait until we move south away from the blizzards, ice storms here in Iowa. Looking forward to warm weather, great restaurants, fabulous shopping and wonderful outdoor activities that Florida has to offer ! Thank you for your video.. I know that there are a bunch of us just itching to move south to Florida....

I'm literally visiting Florida as we speak. I am coming from Idaho and am not really liking what I am seeing in the Orlando area. Tomorrow Davenport it is!
I lived in 4 corners for a short time. Davenport is slower paced then Orlando, more affordable and a short drive to attractions. However the majority of the schools have very low ratings. I have 3 children and at the time they were high school, middle and elementary. So it ended up not being an option for me to move to....however now that everything is online...ahhahah I may have made a mistake. Then again...I HAVE to live close to the Disney character warehouse and that was a drive for me
Hope to move down their one day. My brothers and I have gotten into real estate, so I'd be most likely waiting for them to help chip in a house somewhere. Hopefully their!! I have to get ready to be more on my own as well. I'm in my mid 25ish and hope by 30-40 I can be down their. Or less! My job has a site down their in Davenport, I herd bad things about it like knowbody knows what they're doing down their. I think I would just have to learn a little bit about everything and hopefully they have enough work for a while!! I herd some people went to my job site and moved down their and had to come back up here because of work. I hope that doesn't happen to me!! I have to hang out with people who been their for a while! Plus I hope i'd get paid the same. I love the activities you can do. Storms! Beaches here and their, Horses!! I want to lease a horse but may have to give that up for a bit. Small Bike ride in the warm December sun. Kayaking. That's about it. I'd drive to ocala and somehow budget in Horse stuff!? :( IDK how but it's gonna work! Plus I'm going to rent out my house to other people.
Davenport is super expensive- Sep. 2023; pool maintenance, landscape maintenance, property taxes, water and electricity all utilities are expensive and everything is so far away that i'ts a waste of time and gas at the pump. the traffic is another issue.
You too are very cute people I’ve lived in Davenport for the last 10 years prior to that I live next to Universal Studios Florida out 10 years and then moved back here to Davenport So in the last 10 years what I’m saying is the traffic has become so bad that if you want to go to Universal Studios anytime after 9 o’clock in the morning you got to plan an hour just to get there. And if you want to go to the beach the best beaches to go to her on the Gulf coast and they are an hour and 30 minutes away minimum mostly An hour and 45 minutes to Clearwater Beach. So as you’re getting everybody’s so excited about moving to Florida tell him about the 5000 new units apartments and houses that is that have gone up in the last four years and made it practically impossible to get to Orlando in less than an hour.
We talk all of the time about the traffic. Orlando is a booming metropolis. Look at the rest of the country. Davenport is now experiencing what happened to suburbs around LA, Chicago, NYC, etc. years ago. This is nothing new or anything to be afraid of. The infrastructure is behind no doubt, but it will catch up. There are so many people here because it’s where everyone wants to live.
I have always loved Florida and I still plan on moving there when I retire. The only problem I am seeing is that there are just sooo many people moving there that I am afraid that Florida is starting to get overwhelmed and ruined by way way too many people. Everytime I listen to any video of people who have moved there I feel that they really miss where they came from and they have a lot of complaints about Florida even though they say they don't. Heat , humidity, bugs , mosquitos, are just part of living in the South. I feel like so many from up North or the Midwest really doubt understand the reality of living in the Deep South. Everyone wishes they lived at the beach when they go to Florida on vacation but visiting on vacation and actually living there day to day is a whole different ball of wax. Almost every TH-cam video I have watched over the last several years ends up with people leaving Florida.
@@bcdeaton777 Lived in Tampa Bay for 20 years. We were going to retire there. Left four years ago and so happy we did. Went down on business in March. Things are not only as bad as we remembered but worse! We are back in the Midwest. MUCH more peaceful.

Just subbe, thank you for good info.We love the Davenport area.Orlando has been our vacation spot since 2000.First years we stayed in resorts close to Disney but since 08 we have rented pretty mutch the same vacation home in Highlands Reserve.(abot 3 week stays) We live in the south of Norway and as i went in to early retirement we are thinking of snowbirding"up to 3 months at the time x2 to begin with.My wife and i have 2 kids 19 and 16 that both work and study on line.Looking at pool homes with 4+ bedrooms.Thinking about both renting or buying a short time rental maybe ?
Looking to move to this area in the next 6 months, looking for a rental for my family of 6, myself, wife, and 4 kiddos for at least a 4br 3 bath place. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated?
I keep seeing home prices in Davenport seem much more affordable but then I look up the schools in the area and I have to stop. Are the schools actually that bad? Are there any good schools in the area?
Hello, thanks for sharing so much information. Do you have any recommendations for property management companies that have properties for rent in Davenport? Looking to move in the next few months, but wanted to rent for a year prior to buying. Davenport was an area we were targeting. Any insight or management companies you can recommend would be great. Thank you in advance.
We are actually renting through a management company now...we are early in the process, but will give our honest review after a few months! Feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram!
Great video guys. My family and I have been here in Florida for almost a year now. We’re currently in Winter Park. I absolutely love it. Davenport was another area we were looking into. But I noticed the differences in “tourist” pricing at certain merchants. Has the affected you guys in any way?
@@linhaton4957 we’re still in the infancy stages of relocating. Still trying to figure out where the best area is for us. I’m a nurse and there are a lot of facilities in a decent proximity. Davenport is on our list of areas to explore as well.
Hi. My son is a soccer trainer, and he plans move near Orlando for work. Is posibble find cheap rentals for short terms units fully furnished in the Davenport área? He wants try first for a few months before move permanently.
There are tons of furnished rentals in the area. However, if he is looking for something cheap, I recommend finding someone who has a private ROOM for rent in a house
They are really about the same, and both work on all Florida toll roads. Big difference is that E-Pass sticker is free. Sunpass sticker will cost you $5. E-Pass also offers slight discounts on some roads.
Omg I love Davenport Fl...my family has a home in Davenport for 35+yrs...its still not so populated thats why i love it....used to be so many orange orchards...soo many memories there...moving back to my family home in Davenport...not many tourist too...Davenport is a gem
Well yea davenport is great But building too fas t. Our roads cannot handle the rate these houses are being built. The traffic can be really bad. If we want to expand try helping our roads. I am a homeowner here also. I have been here for 11 years. There are also a lot of travelers here renting houses in the communities. You can live next door to many people being these houses are always rented for tourism. Be sure to check the communities out. It’s a great place but it as some things that may bother you.
Good advice on checking out the neighborhoods before hand! The area does get a little busy with traffic... but in my opinion, it is not out of control. Highway 27 can accommodate a lot of traffic being six lanes wide... however, I will agree that the roads in East Davenport off of Ronald Reagan/17 192 sometimes are horrible to navigate in the late afternoon early evening hours when everyone is coming home from work. Thank you for your comment!
I have Loved Florida my whole life and will retire there. I grew up in the South and it seems like too many people are moving there that do not understand that you must really love the heat, bugs , wildlife, etc. There are way too many people moving to Florida and all these people are ruining Florida. Yes it's nice in the winter in Florida but when the rest of the country in nice and cool the rest of the year Florida is an oven. I know people from up North and the Midwest who moved to Florida and eventually started to hate the heat and humidity where as people from the South such as myself absolutely love the heat. I would say fifty percent of people from the North and the Midwest will not make it five years.
Safety is my biggest concern! I saw the prices of the homes and how close it is to Disney and it sort of made me nervous. We live in a very safe area right now in New England and I’m just worried about crime. I just want to make sure that my family will be as safe as possible, but Davenport seems to hit most of all of our check marks
To be honest, we saw plenty of snakes during our walks at our old house....although the whole community was surrounded by woods. We have been here at our new house for a month and a half and have not seen a snake yet.
Ive lived in Downtown El paso, Seattle and Jacksonville. Ive never felt unsafe... This is 100% a mind set....
Definitely would think about relocating to Davenport, Groveland or Lakeland from Miami asap!!!!! 👍🏾
We are moving to Lakeland Florida in April we could use some helping finding a house to rent in that area even Auburndale, Winterhaven area.

We have learned that there are certain stores to stay away from because of that, yes!
P3rf3ct1y_Tricia Winter Park is very nice but very expensive. Houses cost at least 30% more than Davenport.
@@linhaton4957 we’re still in the infancy stages of relocating. Still trying to figure out where the best area is for us. I’m a nurse and there are a lot of facilities in a decent proximity. Davenport is on our list of areas to explore as well.
We will be moving from Oregon
Quite the drive!!! 😳
Did you move within the same neighborhood as you vlogged about before, or a better one?!
A different, comparable neighborhoods out 25 minutes away.
What you recommend the Sun Pass or EZ pass for the toll roads?
They are really about the same, and both work on all Florida toll roads. Big difference is that E-Pass sticker is free. Sunpass sticker will cost you $5. E-Pass also offers slight discounts on some roads.
@@FloridaWithFive Awesome thank you!
Why not the east cost or the west cost of Florida?
Başarılar dilerim hello
Is it a gated community? I think we want to live there while I go to school in Orlando
Davenport offers many different communities, some gated, some not.
What are the schools like?
I thought you didn't have a pool. Did you recently move?
4:45 Oh... never mind. Congrats!
Yes! You figured that out now I see! 😜
My daughter just moved into Victoria park apts in Davenport. So far she loves it! Thanks for the video :)
Have driven by them many times, but was curious as to if people like them... thanks for the insight, and glad she is enjoying it!
Do you guys miss it?

We visited there about a month ago!
Omg I love Davenport Fl...my family has a home in Davenport for 35+yrs...its still not so populated thats why i love it....used to be so many orange orchards...soo many memories there...moving back to my family home in Davenport...not many tourist too...Davenport is a gem
thanks for your video. is it easy to rent out if buying investment property at davenport? thanks.
I would say, yes. Rentals tend to get snatched up just as quickly as homes for sale.
@@FloridaWithFive Thank you.
Ayeeeeeeee
Thank you for your comment!
i live there
Why Davenport?
Made it 20 years but only left because of all the buttheads not the heat!
Hey guys where do you guys work?
I am a Realtor here in central Florida
That’s awesome. Was it difficult to move to a new state as a realtor?
I actually moved here as a project manager for a construction company and recently switched careers
That’s awesome. Good for you!
How is elementary school here
Safety is my biggest concern! I saw the prices of the homes and how close it is to Disney and it sort of made me nervous. We live in a very safe area right now in New England and I’m just worried about crime. I just want to make sure that my family will be as safe as possible, but Davenport seems to hit most of all of our check marks
Yes, super safe!
What about snaked give it to me straight hehe
To be honest, we saw plenty of snakes during our walks at our old house....although the whole community was surrounded by woods. We have been here at our new house for a month and a half and have not seen a snake yet.
Davenport sucks 😂
Whats the best subdivision to buy under $375k?
