@@TonysRefinishingTV I'm sure I will! I really like your pedagogic approach and the fact that you think of all of us DIY guys who don't have access to a paint booth. Stuff like spraying in colder environments etc. Keep it up man!
Mattias Larsson well when you guys ask me for a certain type of video mate I suppose in a way I feel like I should make sure it’s more to your environment than the one we spray in so using a cheaper starter price gun leaving the heater off ect so you can see it can be done in that environment you have too then
No mate this 1.2xl is oversize anyway so it sprays higher then a 1.2 standard tip personally this gun is just the right size for paint volume it holds so I can just dial the paint flow back a little and then it works brilliantly, any size gun would be fine really as they can always be dialled back for any size task
Definitely requires a bit more thought than painting flat panels on a car, look forward to the series on this bike and the one for beginners , great idea
thanks buddy and yes im hoping the beginner series should be quite good itll start with the upmost basics like gun basics covering a few short vids then work to body then paint ect ect
Hey Tony, so pleased to see you back in the booth, been in the DeVilbiss booth all last week painting an aircraft the first time they ever had an aircraft at the factory and in their booth, got my hands on the DV1 gun also well pleased with the results considering I'm an amateur. Will dm you a couple of photos on messenger. Looking good on your bike panels buddy, can't wait to see the final design, 😋😋
Sagola sent it me direct mate but speak to our sponsors pmp supplies they may be able to get one out over to you fella and they are extremely good mate
we use a 50kw oil fired space heater for the bake in our booth atm its ducted into it as the bake cycle on our booth is in need of repair and itll heat our booth to 60c in no time, but if its small areas id use infra red
@@TonysRefinishingTV so does it blow directly into booth or it fires into heat exchanger which gives away heat to circulating air thats part i dont understand?
Booths usually yes it would go into a heat exchanger but our heater on the exchanger is broken so we have ducted one into the booth directly to heat the cabin for bake purposes we just used some galvanised ducting to duct it in and we don’t run the recirculatiion when it’s heating for bake so it gets to temp quickly and stays there very easily too
Great video, looking forward to the rest of the series on painting this bike. Personally when doing custom paint on bikes I’ve learnt to lacquer after the main colour before masking for any custom sections so I can go back and clean up any edges or bleeds with a bit of thinner on a rag, more time consuming but the lacquer protects the main underlying colour. What was the thinking around using a 2k white rather than a standard white solvent base coat?
so i end up with the same as you but for alot less mate, rather than use basecoat then clearcoat i just shoot the main colour in 2k gloss then flat to do the design work and the same as using clear i can flat or wipe any bleeded edges off the gloss when the design goes down, but cost ratio on the first stage im using gloss at £20 a litre oppose to base at £50 litre and clear at £30 a litre
im more comfortable with a bigger gun tbh its not all that often i use a mini gun in the shop and i have no really outstanding mini guns either atm plus id be forever filling a mini gun with paint on a job this size as all the panels together all 15 or more in the booth that day would take alot of paint so for ease of use it was a better option to use the bigger gun and turn the fluid back
i cant say on that one im afraid ive not had chance to use the mini ones as yet but have heard great things about them, a full review on the titania pro used in this video will be also up soon
Are you still planning on posting part 2 & 3 or did you lost the content? Ever tried the Sri pro 1.4mm? I specifically bought this gun for the small motorbike parts. Love this small gold gun. I think it's an expensive gun for its size but well worth it! One of the few mini guns with a bigger tip size. Most are max 1.2mm but I also use it for Plasti dip so needed the bigger size.
Lol if you email me mate I can send you a link fella I use one person to do my logos another to do the glitch animations and then all the video part myself buddy my emails on the about page

1.3xl dvr mate
