Good day everyone, today we will be doing a hymn written in 1897 titled “ Count Your Blessings.” The message of this song is a simple one. Instead of always dwelling upon the things that we don’t have or want, be thankful for the things that we have been blessed with from God. This scripture from Proverbs kept coming to my mind when I was learning this song. Proverbs 3: verses five and six. “ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” The true blessings in life are to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and that your name is written in heaven in the Book of Life.
