When it comes to construction there are more hurdles to overcome in the testing phase in California than in Florida. You have a lot more seismic testing to do. Plus, it's being built on the side of a hill. The construction may be complete by the end of the year - weather permitting. However, it'll be in testing until spring. I'd expect a Q1 opening.
I can't wait to see elements in place, I'm mostly excited to find out how tall it'll actually be, probably not taller than veloci but its still interesting to think about, especially considering we'll be controlled spinning the whole time.
Wow this is awesome! I literally work just down the road at WB and can see the Universal park from the top of the parking garage. I'm gonna' see if I can spot this from my vantage point lmao.
I’ll be at HHN this October and I’m so excited to see how far the construction will be! I’m hoping that more track will be in so I can get a better sense of the layout
DRIFTYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! Look at this amazing ride take shape! Hollywood Drift!! I can't wait for 2026!! I'm so happy Taylor and Sarah got to see Drifty construction!!! I literally can't wait. This ride looks absolutely incredible, and has potential to be my new #1. I can't wait for 2026!!! HOLLYWOOD DRIFT I LOVE YOU!!!💙💙💙💙 I LITERALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SPINNING ZERO G STALL
What's kinda unique is they poured most of the footers initial pour months ago and recovered with dirt as the have continually worked on grading the hill and adding retaining walls. Just crazy how big the finished boxes/footers are. Crazy big.
I’d rather they take their time, not cut any corners, have awesome theming and make it the best coaster on the west coast. Yeah, I said it! 🏎️🏁 Give other parks a run for their money!
They will with Epic Universe, their main focus currently. I don’t really think this is going to do anything to nearby parks, especially since Disneyland has most of the theme park market in California. They’re a multiple day destination, whereas universal is a one day visit. I do agree with you though!
When they first announced this ride last year, I was expecting to be a dueling/racing roller coaster. After seeing that the ride was going to be a single track, I figured it wasn't so bad. However, one of new videos that showed an update of Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift and revealed that it's going to be a Spinning Coaster. I'm not really sure if the new ride is going to be as exciting as a racing coaster, but we still have two more years left to go. I think would be really cool to see a NOS Button Steering Wheel in the first car of the train, so they make the ride go faster just in the Fast and Furious movies. Maybe there will be a section where you will hear the NOS Tank sound effects. We'll have to wait until 2026 to see how great Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift will become.
I still don't understand the 2026 opening. We are only half way through 2024. Track is going up. They aren't building a building to enclose it. It's all outside. Why is it not opening for basically 2 years? My brain doesn't comprehend.
The permit and certification is tedious in LA, especially for structural safety. California has the safest buildings designed to withstand earthquakes. It’s a long process, better to start as early as possible.
I hope they bring one to Florida parks as well, the supercharged attraction is easily the worst attraction in the park, Earthquake it's predecessor was far better.
I'm glad this park finally got a major coaster like this. They had a huge lack of thrill rides and to many theater rides.
Very needed for sure!
The construction of this ride looks really cool on that hill, it must be hard to build.
WHAT!? didn't even know it had broken ground yet, nevermind track installed.
Yep! This summer is going to be fun with construction!
Hollywood Drift Confirmed! Let's GOO!!!
HOLLYWOOD DRIFT!!
@@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoastersbro is gonna be coming back every single week for progress 💀
@Goliath146 it's actually really far away from me but I always check the updates on social media!

No longer Hollywood Draft 💪
It's a good day! Sun is shining, Birds are chirping, and Coaster Studio made a brand new vid!

This is awesome. I’ve been saying for years that their best bet for expansion is the hill between the upper and lower lot and they’re finally doing it

Universal investment In all the parks is insane😮 love it.

You are such a fan of this ride I think you should deserve a pin 😂

Omg! Can’t believe how Universal haven’t stopped investing in the past few years! Great vid guys!
With the rate at which the construction is moving, I can't believe it won't be open until 2026.
“This time it ain’t just about being fast” - Dom Toretto
This is cool but b&m track has been spotted at kings dominion looking like its wing track.
I was expecting it to open WAYYYY earlier. Really hope the opening date moves to sometime in 2025.
That one piece of track placed while you were recording would have taken 3 months at Disney 😂
For your next update, there's a great view of the construction from a viewing point behind the splash area in Super Silly Fun Land
Where is the entrance to the ride gunna be I feel like it would be weird if it was right next to the Simpson or something

Yay you're in California!

Disneyland seems to be going downhill lately from what I’ve been hearing! Progress is also fairly slow at Magic Mountain.
I really just hope it'll be better than Supercharged.
I think they should integrate supercharged into it. ;) Make it its own block section.
Anything is better than that garbage.
Hollywood Drift love chain?💙💙

Let's Ride
Is it gonna have a lap bar or overhead?
Probably lap bar. Most intamin coasters use lap restraints for a more “freeing” experience
More universal Great Britain update pls
Gta 6 will be out before fast and furious Hollywood drift 😮

I like to think they are saying 2026 so that if problems do arise, they don’t have to delay it. I would be very surprised if it didn’t open by 2025.
2026 is nuts tho
Do you have enough drive tires?
Intamin: NO
Its insane that they are already placing track and the ride still doesn't open until 2026
The permit and certification is tedious in LA, especially for structural safety. California has the safest buildings designed to withstand earthquakes. It’s a long process, better to start as early as possible.
Since when did this start… Also that’s a lot of drive Tires😂
Yeah More tires than my brother's planet coaster rides😂
Pitty not coming to Orlando
this park needs it more. Orlando has both Velocicoaster and Hagrids PLUS Epic Universe. Orlando will be fine lol
Who said it's not?
I want to ride it but sadly the wait times will probably be from 120-180m daily. Maybe longer...
Why is this thing taken 3 years to build?
This is definitely going to be one of the most expensive roller coasters ever built.

I WONDER IF HE KNOW. WONDER IF HE TOKYO!
I hope they bring one to Florida parks as well, the supercharged attraction is easily the worst attraction in the park, Earthquake it's predecessor was far better.
Supercharged is the definition of a downgrade.
I thought 2025 was the opening year😂
This will be the much better Fast and Furious attraction compared to Florida's abomination of one.
