Got me an Asap Lock & GriGri about two weeks ago, what I've seen these things are pretty foolproof ;)
Edit: Of course not a damn GriGri but an IDs..

id like to see more on this, personally I'm a Rig and a Shunt fan (duck if its available) i really dislike the asap, Im aware of the concerns but I'd love to see video explaining the downfalls in stops and shunts, whether it be right or wrong the stop and shunt is still standard offshore issue

Also here, rig and shunt are my favourite

Should show a video with detail of the asap/stop combo
Displaying how it can creep with an unlocked stop and 'unconscious casualty'. Petal put out a notice for it.

Would love to see this with a gri gri and shunt as it is still very common in routesetting unfortunately.

Do that again but don't toe the shunt first. Just out if interest. Because to me it looks like you toed that shunt first then let go

he grabbed the shunt like a new person would most likely do in a fall..

+Ben thomas I know that, I just want to see the test without towing the shunt.

+rockyrobin24 so you just wanted to see him get hung up on his shunt? lol

+Ben thomas basically yea. In a real life situation if your working line failed you wouldn't be quick enough to grab your backup. Obviously in the situation where you have that little split second heart attack they grab something and because the fails so brief its always the back up they grab
But In reality if your working line failed you wouldn't have them to grab anything.

+rockyrobin24 that's not true you could still potentially grab it if it wasnt extremely high or if they were new and had it low.. I watched a girl descend to fast and hug around the ropes and fall eleven feet.. towing the shunt or duck would be the worse case if a your main line broke people tend to seize up and forget to let go of the tow.

Кто бы нашим "висюнам" объяснил, что шант - зло. Один из самых популярных зажимов, не предназначенных для страховки.

After ten-plus years, people are still trying to defend the use of these dumb towable backups. Hopefully, the new standards change should finish the debate once and for all. "maybe."
