This might have changed at somepoint which I don't know when, in the classroom you have to switch over to your desender and fully off the crawl before going up and over the edge.
I think that might be to do with 'rescue in descent' for level 1s. That is the only kind of rescue we are taught to do within IRATA, but I don't know if it's the same with SPRAT.
definitely this, going over in the croll has potential to shock load if you fall back and croll is a toothed device so that's putting the rope in danger of being cut
It is necessary to change over to descender on the main line before making the move back up over the edge. Not doing so, and making the move in the chest croll, risks slacking the rope and, in the event of a slip or failed step, shock loading a toothed device, risking damage to the main climbing line. For this same reason, going up over an edge while in the chest croll, during an irata L1 assessment would be an automatic fail.
bravo, complimenti. Da noi in Italia non esistono discese del genere, da noi è molto più complicato, a tal punto da dover inventarci attrezzature...ciao th-cam.com/video/qhoIejSGyOo/w-d-xo.html
