Most useful tip was how to empty the glass out of the bed of the truck after you take it off and tip it up.. I would of knocked those dents out of that rust free bed..
You wouldn't see a frame like that up hear in PA. It looks perfect. I have to take my bed off. A lot of rust .still I know when I take it off theirs going to be more. I need to do it before inspection or I will not pass.
Dang you guys down there dont get the rust like we do up here. I'll be pulling my bed next week or so to get the frame sandblasted & painted. Your vid gave me some helpful info so I can prepare for the project, thanks.
Gunters Garage hey man thanks I’m glad i was able to help in some way but yea lucky down south rust isn’t as bad as up north I feel your y’all I hope you get it all good bro 👍🏻
There is NO need to remove the bumper, or then entire bed to get to the fuel pump. Remove the bolts from the bed, un-do the tail light harnesses, put 3 of the bolts part way back in the pass side of the bed, then just lift the drivers side of the bed high enough to get a jackstand between the tire and bed. That is more then enough room to reach the fuel pump. I can do this job alone in aprox an hour. Much wasted time, effort and if you have a bed you need, you will not damage it. But funny to watch anyway. "
Andy K you are so right that’s how I normally do it but this time the bed was not going back on I was getting a different one but I’m glad I was able to make you laugh
The weather can get so uncomfortable here in south Louisiana that I have just contemplated packing all my shit and just moving to a more comfortable place.
Love this video. Maybe it can be use for my Mazda BT-50. I want to add something between the frame and the bed to make it higher than before (about 50-70mm)
Lmao considering it had a fat dent in the pass side. I dont think the paint is gonna matter much to whoever bought considering it needed the paint. And is rotted out lol
I know the feeling neighbor im over in houston its crazy nasty n i this past summer was doing doing sandblasting for a small collision shop n it was rough but hell of a fun job
It's hot in many areas, cold in many areas.... Don't expect a tip of my hat if you work out of your element. Some people like extreme heat n sun or extreme cold.... if you hate working out in the sun all day n would rather sit in a office or work on a sales floor with air conditioning..... I encourage you to quit n switch jobs already with each other instead of your complaints.
Hey man, I'm in S Louisiana (Baton Rouge) and work outside too. Where are you at? I'm actually trying to replace my bed on my truck -maybe you can help me? I'm willing to pay and help! Subscribed to your vids too!
Removal starts at 7:40
James Vandam thanks I student won't to watch a bunch of yapping either
You are a Godsend!
Thanks bro,much appreciated
Best part was when all the crap started falling out of the bed when you tilted it up. 😂
seeing how and where the bolts are to be removed is THE PART we need to see.

@@adriananoelle4699 thanks
what brand pump did you purchase 😁
I’m sure skidding the paint off the rear end while walking it across the concrete helped the resale value.
Sure did 👍

Would a gmc ext cab stepside bed interchange with a Chevy ext fleetside ? If so what problems would i might have ???
Tim Miller I believe all you need to do is change the filler neck to the step side filler neck
chop off the first 3 minutes of nothing. Otherwise good vid. Will be doing the same next week.
Going to do this soon to do my fuel pump and undercoat the frame, roughly how much do you think the bed weighs?
I really don't know id say like 2-300 lbs i guess I just know its heavy lol
Do you think a99 1500 fit a 2500 ?
Yes should
Thanks for making the video!! Just picked up a shot second gen and have to take off the bed
No bolt locations, wire disconnect, or troubleshooting. I'm sure you're followers like you but I wanted to learn something.

Not a 100% sure but I've done it a few times I always mount my tail lights to the bumper and make sure there viewable
