In the middle of the night once, my cat woke me up with those loud distressed meows when the portable heater had shorted out and the place had that burning electrical smell.
Had one of my cats do the exact same thing growing up. Went and meowed like crazy at my mom, followed the cat into the kitchen, big ass fire on the stove. That cat definitely saved our kitchen/home.

Up till March, our cat Miley lived at our dad's house, however late that month an electrical fire started and the house burned down, my dad only being able to recover his 2 vehicles, himself unscathed and a family album that survived in a closet 2-3 weeks later. After thorough inspection of the remains, no sign of Miley was seen. On the bright side, that means she either hid in a safe spot and ran out whenever it died down, or was able to escape when an opening presented itself. On the downside, she was an indoor cat (back in 2020/21 she accidentally was lost for 3 days, though nothing else), and besides few natural instincts likely wasn't accustomed to the outside. If she was fortunate enough to not starve or get attacked by the coyotes in the nearby woods, she may have been found a taken to a neighbor's house, or sent to a shelter. we've checked the closest shelters regularly but sadly no cat matching the description has showed up, and we have yet to check at said neighborhood due to my parents' busy schedules and my lack of income for personal transportation or a driver's license. At the very least I hope the latter scenario took place and she's found new loving owners to care for her.
My cat woke me up by jumping from the windowsill onto my body twice. First time I thought: weird. Second time I knew he was trying to tell me something. 2 burglars were busy collecting stuff in the garden. They ran away when i yelled at them. Very loving and smart kitty he was.
My cat Jack saved me from a candle that had burned all the way down and the flames were licking onto the walls.......I was dead asleep and I felt a little tap tap on my arms....ignored it....and then he grabbed onto my arm and flexed his claws and let out a "yelp" meow" and I came to, just in time to pour water on it. (I always have water by my bed.)

My co-worker’s cat saved her entire family by waking them up and screaming at them when their house caught on fire. Everyone, including the cat, got out unharmed. Our feline … and canine … companions are extremely intuitive and have much better sense capabilities than we humble humans. They protect and save us every day. 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
Cats can not only hear sounds much higher pitched sounds than we can, but they can also produce such high pitched sounds. So what looks like a silent meow to us is a perfectly good meow too high pitched for our ears. It can take time for some cats to realize that we aren't ignoring them, we can't hear them. Looks like your good boy has had a revelation. 😊
Idk, my cat is perfectly fine with the silent meows while we're looking at her, and non-silent while we aren't. Idk if she's actually producing ultrasonic ones or just making silent ones.

I was sitting in the living room reading when all three cats started to stare at the side door. And started to hiss. I saw, backlit from the street lamp, a very large person standing there. I would never have known if those cats weren't there. I've read many stories like this. Cats don't bark like a dog, but they absolutely "sound" the alarm when things aren't right.
You just unlocked a new fear for me. An AC can catch fire? Of course anything plugged in has that risk, but still, I never heard of that happening before. Makes me worry, cause the one in our home is constantly running, in the late spring, and all summer time. Between the alternating of who is home, technically the AC itself is running about 20hrs a day non stop.
my son charged his smartphone and fell asleep. The smartphone was in his bed and got hot. The room door was closed. My two cats really started meowing at high pitches and ran to his door. The two angels will always have a place in my heart for saving our lives. And my cat girl always hated my ex-husband, but once she saw him fall asleep in the bathtub she still got help. We can learn so much from animals.
I started having seizures due to a rare disease that was misdiagnosed. I always woke up to my cats standing stalwart observing me. After my worst one I was really bruised all over and had a very bloody head wound. My cats don't usually sleep on me but when I went to bed that night they each curled up on one hip almost like they wanted to keep me in place and secure❤
I was once woken up by my 2 cats jumping up and down on me when I was in bed. I then noticed blue flashing lights outside, the next door attached house had a kitchen fire. So the cats needed me to make sure we were all safe
I had a (new to me) electrical appliance plugged in in my bedroom. I was downstairs in my living room. Suddenly my cat came FLYING down the stairs. Out of curiosity I went upstairs to find the thing had caught fire! Luckily we were able to put it out before it did too much damage (had to replace the carpet and paint, but otherwise no permanent damage). He very likely saved our house.

We had a rescue cat for years, his story was he came from a litter that was in a home that burned down... years after we had him, trying to get our woodstove going, poor draft, the smoke came in the house and our Andy ran around the house meowing and howling to get everyones attn. He got tons of hugs and kisses for doing that.
My "rescue" -- Stray -- cat, I eventually realized had probably been left behind when someone moved and just left him. 😿 I had him a few years, was getting ready to move, and he was getting more and more upset every day I was packing, etcetera. I suspected he'd been left and I wasn't gonna leave him, but what can I say or do? Then moving day, moved, including him. The other two older cats immediately ran and hid like they did at first in a new place. But THIS cat was let out of the carrier, realized he was still with ME and all of our stuff (sniffing boxes and furniture). He was SO HAPPY! He came with the move!! He just settled in with no worries or hiding. It was sad to know then for sure probably someone had left him, but so happy he knew and understood that now he would always come with me. He was already a nice cat but even more bonded to me after that. We also moved a few more times and he was completely chill with every move now. It was really clear he understood I'd always keep him with me. ❤😺 But wait, there's more! Years later, the two older cats had passed, he like being an only cat and we had great times every day. Then I had some circumstances that brought me to a terrible depression. It was diagnosed and friends and doctors were helping me but many days were just me and Cat, together. (and his needs were met, don't worry about that. Mostly me but other people came and went, he also already understood getting basics from other people like if I was on vacation, he knew he was cared for if I left a bit. ) Though he was always a great buddy cat, he had NEVER been a super-cuddly guy or lap cat. But in the worst of my Depression he curled up next to my neck every night, he was on the bed every morning. If I happened to wake up and he wasn't on the bed, he'd hear me waking up and come running in, meowing, "I'm here! I'm here!" Eventually I got better (with Cat help along with professional and friends help 😸). And he was NEVER as cuddly again, for the rest of his life, more than 5 years later! so, he knew. I had helped him then he helped me. l
My cats are very intelligent. Both our dilute calico nala, and gray mackerel tabby Padme, they meow and run to us if someone has fallen or is in need of help. Such as us yelling, they will meow loudly and go find one of us to guide us to the other roommate to help. I caregive for my BFF and her mom. Our cats are emotional support animals. But considering they alert me when one has fallen or needs help and I can't hear em, they are service animals to me. They also don't leave any of our side when we are injured or sick. ❤
He is a beautiful cat. He looked so serious when telling you something’s wrong. When our cats meow for us to follow them to the food bowl, we always ask them if Timmy’s in the well. I’m showing my age. It’s from old movies of Lassie the collie and his owner a little boy named Timmy who always needed help.
I think this was Olivers way of saying "Thank you" by saving you, just like you saved him. A kitty version of paying it forward. What a dude of a cat, and so handsome !

Cats are very observant. We once had a huge fight in the family, and my old cat - who used to be very aloof and not very vocal - stood on top of the stairs meowing in distress because we were arguing and shouting.
Such a great kitty! I had a similar experience with a very soft meowing cat, who noticed the toilet tank had gotten stuck and began to overflow while everyone was asleep, and made a huge amount of noise until my mother checked on her.
When I was little my grandmother lived in a house with an old style wood fire place. My dad had told his brother to check the flue for her while he was down there. He did not. My grandmothers house caught fire and he little dog who was normally calm and quiet went nuts to wake her up. Running all over her and barking. She would have died if not for that sweet pupper.
Reminds me of my kitten, who may not have been able to see, but sure did know when smoke and fire was there, I was asleep the entire time and apparently a plastic bottle has caught on fire while my parents were cooking, they left it on the stove and forgot to turn off the stove, it burnt to a crisp and so did the item, my little kitten saved me, with a small 'mrew' sound, and a hit on my head, if she hadn't done this I wouldn't have been able to comment on this amazing video

What a good baby!! He certainly "earns his keep". Our kitty used to sit in his window perch and alert us loudly and confidently when another cat came near the house. We always rewarded him for faithfully doing his duty. ♥️
Oliver is amazing ... _CATS_ are amazing. Oliver showed that cats are social, and love their families - fur and people. Yesterday our Big Beautiful Ginger Buddy bolted out the door and disappeared. He was in renal failure and getting near the end. I was terrified we'd never see him again. His mother Kewpie, who ALWAYS sits in our breezeway, also disappeared. I searched on my hands and knees for a two block radius in every yard under every bush, calling. Nothing. Buddy loved hiding under bushes, watching the world go by. Never strayed, just loved being in the yard. Around 5 PM Kewpie showed up and sat in front of me, just staring, then walked back into our neighbor's yard. It seems she was with her kitten-cat until the end, and came to me to bring him home. They were cuddle-buddies. I'm grateful she stayed with him, and made sure he wasn't alone. Cats are such incredible beings.
@@princessnemo8557 - funny thing we noticed about our other cats ... His mother Kewpie/Mummy is OK. She's a little subdued. She knows what happened to Buddy. Buddy's sisters and his Best Friend Grizz are very upset. They go around, especially Grizz, calling for Buddy. They go looking into all Bud's special places. It's double hurting to see THEM missing Buddy.
Reminds me of how my cat never started to meow until another cat went missing. We may have never found the other cat, but I now have a big fluffy black cat whose meow sounds like an adult person. He also tries to have conversations with people sometimes. It’s kinda funny.
I have two torties who are always very chatty and I adore them for it! But whenever there is a bug in the house they will meow in such a way I know exactly what is happening 😂

Reminds me of my kitten, who may not have been able to see, but sure did know when smoke and fire was there, I was asleep the entire time and apparently a plastic bottle has caught on fire while my parents were cooking, they left it on the stove and forgot to turn off the stove, it burnt to a crisp and so did the item, my little kitten saved me, with a small 'mrew' sound, and a hit on my head, if she hadn't done this I wouldn't have been able to comment on this amazing video

What a good baby!! He certainly "earns his keep". Our kitty used to sit in his window perch and alert us loudly and confidently when another cat came near the house. We always rewarded him for faithfully doing his duty. ♥️

Yesterday our Big Beautiful Ginger Buddy bolted out the door and disappeared. He was in renal failure and getting near the end.
I was terrified we'd never see him again. His mother Kewpie, who ALWAYS sits in our breezeway, also disappeared.
I searched on my hands and knees for a two block radius in every yard under every bush, calling. Nothing.
Buddy loved hiding under bushes, watching the world go by. Never strayed, just loved being in the yard.
Around 5 PM Kewpie showed up and sat in front of me, just staring, then walked back into our neighbor's yard.
It seems she was with her kitten-cat until the end, and came to me to bring him home. They were cuddle-buddies.
I'm grateful she stayed with him, and made sure he wasn't alone. Cats are such incredible beings.

His mother Kewpie/Mummy is OK. She's a little subdued. She knows what happened to Buddy.
Buddy's sisters and his Best Friend Grizz are very upset. They go around, especially Grizz, calling for Buddy.
They go looking into all Bud's special places. It's double hurting to see THEM missing Buddy.
Please give Oliver and all of the rest of your babies my love, and spoil them and keep them forever! 🩷🤗😘🐱

Reminds me of how my cat never started to meow until another cat went missing. We may have never found the other cat, but I now have a big fluffy black cat whose meow sounds like an adult person. He also tries to have conversations with people sometimes. It’s kinda funny.
My cat wouldn't meow for years, but after he started, there was never a quiet moment ever again
