22:21 sounds somewhat like a Chinook helicopter! Great video, very well explained and some useful tips. Cheers, Mark.
Excellent video, brilliant tips how to carry out various effects and like the idea of solder to make fuel pipes, keep up the tutorials brilliant.
Thanks Peter, glad you found it useful
Absolute brilliant Marcus you have open my eyes on how to do things love the video great tips and I do like the camera shot from the Hill side 👍👍
What a great idea that looks great and so did the beginning with the hst they looked great cheers Paul
Great job. Makes a massive difference...great technique too, thanks for sharing..cheers, Chris
Excellent work and description , Marcus. Looks great. Cheers, Bob
Looks great. Some good useful info as well. Liked the concrete colour you achieved as well. Clint at Leila Central.
Really well detailed... well done.
Enjoyed the video. Have used the Scale Model Scenery cabins in one of my projects and they look good.
Marcus, another great video. Great methods. and nice results.
Thank you
Really useful helpful info! Thank you
Brilliant job loved it
Really great result Marcus! Such an improvement on what was there before! The solder for the pipes is a really good tip! I'll use that one for sure!
Solder for pipes is definitely worth doing ! Really effective and do simple to do .
Looking good mate !
I have used a similar technique to achieve my own concrete hardstanding, thank you for the how to or i'd have been stumped.
That looks very good.
Thank you .
Very nice work there Marcus
Great video, looks fantastic!!
Thanks mate
Cracking job Marcus. Simple but fully effective! Love the speeded up sections of the video, sounds like a formula 1 track outside 😆
The new bullhead stops from peco might be worth a look at!.
Keep those videos coming.
Tim
The Scrap Line Cheers Tim . Yea the bloody cars outside do my head in ! We get these little chavs whizzing up and down on cheap quad bikes . I’ll have a look at the peck bufferstops . Debating concrete ones potentially!
Got slides of both 37884 and the 47 at work in Newport. lol I must admit that the diesel sounds are way better than the steam. Well done.
great tip with the paints
Excellent method of hardstanding, I am doing some on my layout but laid into cobbled docksides. I never thought about using mount board to build up to the track height, thanks for the tips.
Alex Hill hopefully it helps !
Superb stuff Marcus! Looks ace!
Thanks , I’m glad you like it !
Nice work i like the video
Nice job Marcus, will give it a go on my new layout
Brilliant, hope it works out for you .
Looking great will have to use your method when doing the hard standing on my future TMD.👍🏻
Copper Hill Junction & TMD let us know how you get on !
Gowerton Parkway will do. I’ll try to film it or at least put it in an update. Cheers 👍🏻
Excellent tutorial, I remember on my old layout using filler directly on the layout and never again unless it’s filling in the gaps between the card sheets
Trent Valley Railway been there done that, took months to sand down flush... Never again !
Trent Valley Railway yea it’s a nightmare . This suits me much more !
Nice job 👍
Well done mate!
Thanks!
Very impressive. An excellent tutorial. Top tip about the pencil for the cracks in the concrete.
Ten out of ten! Really enjoyed this video/tutorial. I learned alot.
Quick question?
How did you make the yellow crash barriers?
Kind Regards 👍
Hi Dave , they are Noch barriers . The come supplied in plain grey .
A great informative video, showing exactly how to achieve great results, with minimum expense.
Really liked the finished article, realistic, cluttered but not crowded.
Well done ..

ps. How did you get the effect of the retaining wall at the edge of the layout ...
The retaining wall by the station is a brick texture I made on photoshop, printed onto self adhesive paper & then layered onto foam board . The retaining wall behind the fuel point is made by a company called merkur
Thank you x
Hi Thanks for the video and the effects look really convincing using a method anyone can use. In case I missed it can I ask what thickness plasticard you used for between the rails and also the make of fueling facility. I am looking to put in a modest fueling point in my layout. Cheers Kev
The plastic between the track is 0.25mm and the Fuel points are Bachmann ones .
I liked the original but the new one does look better. I keep looking at mine thinking shall I change it but I know if I do I’ll wish I hadn’t bothered
That is superb, great job and some great tips. I have recently started a model railway and will use this method for my engine shed and fuel point. I have subscribed to your channel, please have a look at mine. I have mainly real railways but will be doing more models soon.
Let us know how you get one with yours
Great job, just an idea build concrete block type buffer stops ?
Leon Brown hi mate - I think that’s the route I’m going to go down . I need to do some for the other end of the tmd to 👍
I live in Gowerton !
Is the card you're using better than using polly filla?
Can you do a scenics video at some point please?
What kind of thing would you like to look at - it's a broad topic !
Gowerton Parkway I’m interested in how you created some of the ground/grass effects on Gowerton Parkway and Bradwell Point. The effects you have achieved are stunning and look very convincing. 🙂
It's hard understanding hard standing.
Didcot fuel point, don't forget the sand , lots used on fuel points th-cam.com/video/q708MvqNx4k/w-d-xo.html
