  • THE HISTORY BEHIND ADINKRA SYMBOLS
Adinkra symbols Represent traditional mythology of Akans especially Gyaaman(Origin of Adinkra symbols) of Ghana. The intricate symbols of Adinkra convey traditional wisdom, aspects of life or the environment.
The Adinkra symbols and meanings express subjects that chronicle the history, philosophy, and heritage of the Akan people. The heritage dates back to the prehistoric time when Africans inscribed on walls and caves as a means of written communication. The intricate symbols of Adinkra have an appealing quality allied to traditional wisdom, cultural and religious aspects of Akans especially Ashanti, #Akuapem, Gyaaman etc communities.
Adinkra means ‘goodbye’ or ‘farewell ' in the Akan language, but Adinkra symbols go beyond that to portray important events in the cycle of life.
Adinkra symbols are based on ancient teachings, proverbs and folklore.
According to oral tradition, #Adinkra was originally the name of a #King of #Gyaaman, Nana Kwadwo Adinkra.
There are over 400 Adinkra Symbols. In modern times, Adinkra symbols have been adopted and extensively integrated into fashion, architecture, wood carvings, jewelry, furniture, pottery and so forth.

I find this to be some of the most important and exciting form of our cultural stance on the importance of our existence and heritage...as Afr-Americans we must replace in our culture what being enslaved took away in order to rebuild our true heritage and the Communities of The African Diaspora

We enslaved ourselves............. there is only one god... it is not external. So...... if your anscestors were enslaved. They chose that over death. Just impliment the codes... stop trying to blame everybody white for being born black. Especially since black folk solkd black folk to white folk. And had the same white slaves in these europeans countries....... black americans are bitter and spiteful...... instead of reprogramming. But you can never reprogram someone elses codes........ this shit is within... comes from within the way you choose to think.

But these are exactly that!-symbols of the COLONIZATION of BANTU cultures, by ERASING the Authentic and replacing with the FAKE. These are ROMAN GERMAN JEWISH symbols in origin, denoting ongoing CULTURAL IMPERIALISM."black" or "African" rather than BANTU means MINGLED peoples, "BANTU" no more...and these symbols, esp the HEARTS and all that "femininity"-"nurturer"-"caregiver" GARBISH represents exactly that HYBRIDITY imperialism, where the BANTU(Gen 5:4-"OTHER son and daughter of ADAM and NOT of NOAH-(only 8 of CAIN+SETH we're saved, but the BANTU Survived hence the UNIQUE 4C HAIR type, that Gen 10 cannot give birth to...hence the RACIST HAIR politics in USA, with Gen 10 people FORCING the BANTU to COVER & HIDE this FACT, under HUGE OBNOXIOUS headscarfs, weaves and wigs, that BANTU did NOT MJNGLE at Gen 6!)-thays why BANTU PUREgene pool, in the diaspora were ABused as Genetic slave BOREholes, for SONS OF NOAH-(Gen 6-(Cain+Neanderthals & Denisovans)+Seth=Gen 10) to "drink" from and "cleanse"(not) their "freakshow" BETHSAIDApool!-by polluting the BANTU OCEANS and rivers...

Great video however, I sense the narrator subtly omitted the True Origins of the Adinkra symbols. WHO ARE THE PEOPLE OF GYAAMAN?
They’re BONO AKAN people, living in both GHANA AND IVORY COAST (BONTOUKU,IVORY COAST/ BONO AND BONO EAST OF GHANA)
Bono or Bunu in Akan means “the first”. They’re AKANDIFUO” , the first Akan to emerge.
Various aspects of Akan culture stem from the Bono state, including the umbrella used for the kings (eg. The 3 tier umbrella known as “bidibiakyi- some are mightier than others “ only used by Bono Kings”, the swords of the nation (Akofena), the royal stools, goldsmithing, blacksmithing, Kente Cloth weaving, the chief of Yefri, NKORANZA NORTH, Bono east region of Ghana, informed the then Asante king at the time of a group of people in Bontouku (Bonos) who were skilful in cloth weaving and subsequently sent some Asantes to learn from them. Everyone must remember there was a Bono akan kingdom over 400 years before the Asante kingdom was formed. With that in mind most of the cultural dressings,, such as the Kente, Adinkra symbols, Fontomfrom drums are all originated from Bono Akan people. NANA KOJO ADINKRA was a Bono King and he invented the symbols. If you want the true history search m/ watch SUMAHENE , who’s a descendant of King Adinkra. Go to the Bono areas like Takyiman, Dormaa and Gyaman for the authentic history. Whenever the Asantes narrate a history they try to skew it in their favour.

But the symbols are NOT BANTU, they're ALL of 4sq Germanic jewish-roman origin...so it's misleading but because BANTU knowledge has been destroyed by imperialist cultural corruption and domination there's few who know BANTU did NOT create visual imagery be abuse they were PURE MONOTHEISTS like the ANCIENT HEBREWS shunning IDOLS and veneration of the DEAD...BUT thru imperialism MIDDLE AND EASTERN ODOLATRY introduced VISUAL symbols to MARK IMPERIALIST territories they later came to CLAIM as SYMBOLISING territories they had "discovered" for conquest!!..but to keep them alive, they taught the BANTU who practiced ORAL rather than TEXTUAL traditions that these EASTERN symbols were "of their ANCESTORS" just forgotten, but of course they LIED!- even as they LIE that their "cradle" is here yet their bible says EDEN, GARDDN OF GOD is IN LEBANON but stretched from DWARKA INDIA across the meditteranean where CITIES OF CAIN-ATLANTIS, were SUNKEN in the flood, to PORTUGAL-hence theyvnamed the ocean ATLANTIC sea board, and the LAND of the NOrD is above the TROPIC OF CANCER...that is THEIR Gen 6=Gen 10 CRADLE not this continent, known to the BANTU as ITURI(potters house or the forge) renamed "Afer-Afar-KHAN" in anticipation of this INDO-ASIATIC KHANS imperialism and genetic colonization thru hybridity...

Very good video, may I just add that you left out how the Asantes brought it from Gyaman and added more simbles to get the number of simbles we have today. Also how Asantes made it more prominent as well as making it one of Asante's national clothes (Adinkra Cloth) and eventually making it spread throughout most of Akan lands and finally Ghana as a whole, thanks.
