Did you jump over the fact that she got Stockholm syndrome for Leatherface cause the sheriff and friends wanted to kill her too cause she's to them dangerous and all that?😄cause I didn't hear you talk about it.... i mean what do you do when "the good guys" want you dead and there's a killer cousin chasing you that you're also related to ? joining the killer kinda makes sense.. besides if Leatherface had seen her family tattoo or scar he might even have spared her friends xD it was a misunderstanding
Okay, at this point I regret bringing up the tongue flicking because now it's just punching me in the face. How DARE you, sir. And yes, this movie is a big ol' frozen hunk o' poopy. Honestly I liked Next Generation better. The 2022 one is better, but not by much, and at least the new one is on the level of Next Gen. They're called the Slaughters again, and Leatherface doesn't seem cannibalistic.

Haha its not that bad Mike. That one scene when he was screwing a chicken was pretty funny.....wait nevermind that was a Rob Zombie movie...but that one scene where we find out his mom was a whore....no wait thats Rob again...anyway I cant think of any good scenes from this movie. I will say the one scene when leatherface sees his mom on a horse was kind of dumb yet majestic. Gotta love Sheri moon Zomb.....fuck

What bothered me most is the inconsistency in time between the movies. The lead should be in her 40s as of 2013 if she was born in 1973 or have the movie set in the 90s. I feel the 1990s setting would have been nice.

People have been saying "This is the worst Texas Chainsaw Massacre ever" since the second one comes out. It's like Punxsutawny Phil at Groundhog's Day. They come out during every new release and say it's the worst one every time. Just like the groundhog deciding it's winter for longer every time. It's just one of those things you can count on.
Her turning to help leather face makes sense because she found out the back round about her family, she just figured out her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, the mayor and cops just kidnapped her just because she was related to the sawyers, and leather face just saved her life, and she was about to walk away but gave in to the sound of leather face crying while being beaten. I also think it shows how crazy runs in the family(because what pretty girl willingly works with cutting up raw meat) not that leather face is supposed to be looked at as a hero
It's heartbreaking the look of the house didn't come through, because the set design apparently took screenshots of the original film and even went to the house to get exact measurements of all the rooms and decorated it to look exactly like the original house. But that's why cinematography is so important.
But we all miss admit, the use of "The Hand of the Almighty" in the soundtrack was fucking awesome!
The new movie missed a big opportunity not having you’re version of Leatherface in their film. Would’ve made it a 100/10

@@Thatguyyoudontknow594the original script was supposed to be set in 1993. But for some reason the powers that be decided people wouldn't keep up with it if it was set 20 years in the past. And they said ok well let's hire a age appropriate actress, they said no because apparently nobody would cheer for a 38/39 year old leading actress.
Great review! The parts with you as Leatherface were hilarious. I agree with you, I hate this film, it's so bad. As for your question, I would keep the mansion, but try to rent it out. Hope you're doing well

I went to go see this movie in 3D with my brother and sister and my sister who is not that big of a horror fan was rooting for Heather to turn bad because her friends weren’t that great, the people that stole her were terrible to her, and she kinda had no choice but to embrace being a Sawyer. She said she predicted it from the start lol
I walk around my house and randomly blurt out, "Do your thing, cuz" to the kids. And they look dazed and confused as I'm giggling.

Yup, the thing that frustrates me the most about Chainsaw 3D is that it’s incompetent filmmaking at the worst level. Seriously, incompetent filmmaking.
I also don’t like the look of Leatherface in this. His mask is horrible. It reminds me of a hornets nest on his head.

It does not make sense. She would be like 40 in 2013 and the other people would be like 70. Unless they made it set in the 90s, but they didn’t.
Only comes close is Halloween Resurrection when the girl is like " this is for Jen,for Rudy,for all of them"

I actually like Texas chainsaw 3d it’s one of those horror guilty pleasures that I love . It’s a bad movie that I enjoy watching . And lee from drumdums would agree with me also

Same for me. My girl and I get a kick out of this film for how goofy it is. The terrible Trey Songz head in the bucket. The fact she's told every 5 seconds to read the letter yet acts like it's as much trouble as doing her taxes. That Leatherface FINALLY realizes that he can cut through a tire with his chainsaw. Looks like subscribed to Car and Driver magazine through the years! And his damn run into the woods with his hands in the air after throwing his chainsaw. Go back and watch that scene and check out the run its hilarious!! 😂😂

I think Jamie Lee Curtis also had one of the worst lines in Halloween Resurrection when she kissed Michael Myers and, said “see you in hell!” Why would she be in hell when she was a victim of a serial killing? 😂 she wasn’t a villain
Its flaws are very prevalent for sure. That last line was pretty awful but the beginning and some of the kills were good. I know the use of 3d has used quite frequently over the last 15 years or so but I thought they did that justice. I'm always going to vote for practical over cg. I'll also say that cg can be done right and effective. A tough thing to balance indeed

3D just sucks, other than the opening scene, jigsaw cameo, and Leatherface cutting the guy in half kill, which were some decent parts I liked but man this movie sucks.

Also, I do kinda respect them recreating the house a little bit which was nice. Also, little detail you might not know about. During the opening when they are recapping the original movie. They edit out the actor who played Drayton and replaced him with Bill Moseley as Drayton for the movie.

I can deal with that over the relentless garbage dialogue that was Halloween Kills. Again, sorry for being negative, just a visceral hatred for Halloween KIlls over here lol. Love you guys WWAM.
It was great to see Bill Moseley, but his Drayton was too sane. And grampa, even though it was the same actor, didn't look like him at all. And why does the sheriff want just Leatherface--killing is a family enterprise. And as for the mansion, I'd sublet it!

You didn’t even mention the movies date it was set. Like it was meant to be 40 years later, and the baby back in the 70s was Alexandria Daddario. But she’s clearly not 40-ish. And the fact they also tried to hide the date on gravestones and newspaper articles. This might have worked if it was set 20 years later in the 90s but they had iPhones when someone was recording. If it wasn’t for all that it would have been fine

Tbh, i dont think TCM 3D is that bad, i mean, its a watchable movie, i like the whole “leatherface being a victim thing”. The part that i actually think its bad its just how chill heather is to find out that shes related to a bunch of cannibals serial killers. Shes like “oh, you just killed all my friends in such a brutal way i cant even describe it, but thats ok cuz i just found out youre my cousin and i love you now”. It would be way more interesting if it showed heather getting used to the idea that her cousin is a murderer and how that affects her and how she feels about that. Should she hate him cuz he killed her friends? Should she let it slide cuz hes family? Should she forgive him cuz he saved her life? Kinda shitty movie, 5/10, but it doesnt deserve all that hate

You didn't mention the worst part of the movie.. The fact that Alexandra Daddario is supposed to have been the baby in 1974, and this movie takes place in 2013, and she isn't any older than maybe 25.. The timeline is all over the place!

Yeah as much as I didn't like the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that is still better than Texas Chainsaw 3D. God this film sucks a load of rusty chainsaws.
I just watched it for the first time, and this film had the balls to make the final girl turn into the villains aid. That's awesome! Something Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) lacked was a great story. They should've picked up from this flick. 💯

This movie is sort of a limbo of me, where I both like it but find its hot garbage (TBF, I other favourite TCM is The Next Genration - I ain't the best at judging TCM).
I honestly think this movie could have worked, though it needed to go trough another draft or two (and less studio interferance). Was working on a few myself.
I liked Daddario's character well enough - one tweak that could have worked was if this movie had these loose ties with the other sequels, and if Heather/Edith turned out to be an adult version of the the little girl from the third movie, and for one reason or another had repressed memories of her early childhood. Maybe set the movie in the early 2000's instead of dodging the timeline issues.
I still revisit the movie a lot in my fanworks. I had this one treatment for a Halloween crossover that follows (a rewritten version of) this movie. It has Daddario's character as co-protagonist and is set in a combined Thorn/H20 timeline.
Next generation is considered the worst by many but its actually very terrifying. I wouldent want to be in that situation thats for damn sure.
Alexandra Daddario was the only reason I was able to finish this movie.

Chainsaw 3d wasn't terrible. It had an OK story but a great cast. It introduced me to Alexandria Dadario and I really like the fanily connection they made between her and leaherface. It tried something new and it's bad they never continued this storyline.
