Here in the UK we now have a famous Deaf actress rose ayling-ellis she has made her name as the first Deaf dancer on strictly come dancing! BSL classes have shot through the roof plus she refuses to promote big named hearing aid manufacturers or places that sell them she just promotes the British health service! She uses free BTE hearing aids just like me! I am not hard of hearing or Deaf! I am profoundly deaf after being hearing for over 20 yrs of my life! So on my medical records I am DeafBlind! Which means I have some sight & hearing! It's a spectrum! Emily when your not wearing glasses or contact lenses how do you describe your sight? But the funny thing is I notice you prefer contact lenses & not glasses! But in my humble opinion I think glasses suit you! It's like some people hate hearing aids we love them! 💖
Without my glasses everything is blurry unless I hold something about 3-5 inches from my eyes. I do not have good sight. you're right! I do prefer contacts over glasses.
I lived in Salem, Oregon since 1969 throughout my life as a baby and doctors and nurses didn't do hearing testing on babies in 1964 so I lost kindergarten school until I went to special ed school for down synonym kids and while I was there nurse test my hearing in 1970 at 4 years old I didn't need to be there at all I just needed 2 hearing Aids but Deaf school and my public schools medical only has a hearing box of 2" inches square with a 1 AAA battery powered hook to string cord around my neck and 1 ear piece cord wrapped cord wires in the hearing Aid only for my good right ear 🦻 ,I went to 3 grade to 4 grade school until I was in 5 grade school through 6 grade age 12 I went back to Deaf school for a new hearing Aids for both of my ears are 74% hearing loss . Sorry I forget to add I was born premature 3 months too early in my mom's car accident in a small town Arkansas with my family great grandparents and grandparents and mom . Mom I went to Salem, Oregon to be with my first grandpa and my first grandma was in Arkansas so in Salem, Oregon 1975 I had over- the-ears hearing Aids throughout to my highschool and college graduate from public highschool so every hearing Aids was free from Deaf school and my public schools medical products until I moved out to my first grandma and step grandpa I had a great part time jobs working with grandpa in Salem Oregon as a carpenter working during summer schools and my step grandpa also was a carpenter working in grocery store repairer so I had some jobs as a carpenter working repair and forklift driver for groceries stores stocking warehouse I bought my first 2 hearing Aids in Arkansas was $1200 pair wasn't enough power but it provides good enough hearing . Until 2013 I went 50 Miles away from my apartment for Hearing Aides Audiologist Hearing Aides dealers Center and did hearing testing and measuring and used my medical insurance paided for $1250 2 hearing Aids and Mom paided $800 for 2 hearing Aids but wasn't powerful enough first digital hearing Aids made from Stackey or Starkey hearing Aids brand it kept on repeatedly not working properly after trying out different types of hearing aids on a loner but medical insurance company couldn't help me out so later on to 2016 my medical insurance company recommend Better Hearing Center 100 miles away from my apartment and my mom home in Arkansas Better Hearing & Balance Bentonville Arkansas AuD Audiologist Hearing Aides dealers Center is still the best thing ever in Arkansas I now have a good digital hearing Aids cost medical insurance company $1500 both hearing Aids and Mom paided $1000 pair hearing Aids but not powerful enough and I kept getting it sweaty in Outside actively working in rain storm and snowstorms it very hard to do . Summer and winter are worse for my hearing Aids in Arkansas . I'm thinking about getting a new hearing Aids " Phonaks Audeo Life rechargeable waterproof hearing Aids since I saw on Dr. Cliff AuD Audiologist TH-cam videos channel showing different types of hearing aids reviews and hearing loss my Hearing Aides dealers Better Hearing & Balance Bentonville Arkansas has had a new hearing Aids called Phonaks Aquarius hearing Aids waterproof in 2016 but too much money . Sorry I missed saying I have a hearing aides called Phonaks Milo Plus over-the-ear hearing Aids 13 size battery I have 74% hearing loss both ears very severe to profound hearing loss range . I couldn't hear my microwave ringing in a old Analog hearing Aids 3 feet from microwave so now I can hear my microwave ringing 20 feet away from me . But can't hear my cellphone talking to anyone else since I couldn't leave to hearing Aides dealers Better Hearing Center since China's Wuhan Bio-Weapons Grade Lab building up more deadly forms of Virus since 2019 in October throughout to 2022 everything else is closed down because of President Joe Biden closed down business mandatory mask 24/7 indoors and outdoors I really hate wearing a mask 24/7 indoors and outdoors since I can't read lips and can't hear where people are talking to me . Masks muffler speech ‼️😡😠
