I was shocked to find a full-fledged film on Richard-II which corrupted the play by showing that York's son killed Richard. As a student of literature, , I am thankful to you.
King Pedro of Castilla was killed by his brother Enrique who usurped the throne. Enrique told his son: "Maintain the rewards I gave to those who supported me, but do not trust them. The neutrals treat fairly. Those who supported King Pedro you can trust."
It's almost rewarding to know that Henry IV did not '"ride off into the sunset." Most of the people who helped him to the crown turned against him. Oh, he eventually won. But Northumberland in particular turned into a vile traitor. "For all my reign hath been but as a scene / Acting that argument...." (2 "Henry IV - 198-199). In the play, Richard takes down 2 of the hired killers. But this play gives Richard the benefit of killing 3.
