    Not condoning what Richard did but looked what they did to lady Jane grey and others . British history is just like the game of thrones. It’s not good to have a king /heir alive if you want to see yourself on the throne

    • @JupiterMuffles
      @JupiterMuffles 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The difference there is that Lady Jane was (not by her own choice) the usurper. And Mary did spare her in the beginning. If not for Wyatt's rebellion, Jane wouldn't have been executed and even then Mary did that reluctantly.
      Richard was the usurper and likely had his nephews, who were children, murdered willingly. That would make anyone look like a complete villain

    Okey if you think he js a tyrant maybe your right Maybe you aren't but after reading or watching "Richard III" see the show called "The White Queen" there he is depicted as someone honorable that despite the rumors loved his queen and married her not for money but for love. Is incredible seeing how different the Richard on this adaptation is compared to the Shakespeare tragedy.

    • @YoMommazNUTZ
      @YoMommazNUTZ ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He stole the crown and most likely killed the rightful king and yeah he used his role to help the people however he could have done the honorable thing and not steal the crown but do what his brother asked by helping them become great kings

    Yes. What really happened to your nephews, Richard?
    So you were "thrust" to a struggle for the throne? What a nice way to put it.

    • @villain5674
      @villain5674 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He was thrust into a struggle for the throne, his other brother Clarence, was killed in a vat of wine (probably a tall tale), and the Woodvilles that Edward IV let rise to power through his marriage to Elizabeth Woodville meant that they would have most likely made a claim to the throne, if Richard didn't. Why weren't the princes installed as the king? Because they were too young to rule, and therefore there was a struggle as to who would be their Protector, and Richard rightfully made a break to be the Protector. But he was wrong in (Most likely) killing the princes, who would have grown up to replace Richard as the Ruler of the Land if he hadn't have killed them.

    • @mountaingoat79
      @mountaingoat79 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      His late brother king ordered Richard to be the the protector until his nephew came of age, but sadly he’d be labeled a pushover and irresponsible with the government had he let the Woodvilles ride off immediately after two family members seemed to take money from the treasury and run off with the young boy king, which looked like a seizure of the government to get him crowned immediately instead of wait at least two years, and that’d be run through the greedier adults instead of the boy. Richard took his responsibility seriously and parliament kept delaying the coronation by a month and the Woodvilles were against it, till the same priest on the council, who knew all three York brothers brought up the case of illigetimacy of the boys again like he did with George’s. The two factions of Parliament and another asked Richard to be king, which seems to me like a way of these other governing bodies of fighting dirty back to the Woodvilles playing dirty from day one… like it’s unfair to not consider that the Woodvilles instigated this, that it’s a shame to wander what would had happened had they obeyed the will of the late king instead of look like they’re seizing the kingdom and treat the response as a seizure. I feel like maybe unless the priest was that serious about the marriage, that saying it’s illegitimate could had been a way of diffusing the power struggle to put that much pressure over the boys. Richard lost his son Edward and named one of his nephew’s heir.He was also said to have raised his late brother’s two children.
