Thank you for explaining that. You just saved me a lot of money. Initially I was going to replace all 4 sensors in my ford truck but I did not realize that the dow stream sensors were specifically for the catalytic Converter. My truck recently started shutting off in the middle of traffic, so more than likely just my upstreams need to be replaced.
Watched the video and i have a question does the OS is counting the oxygen in the exhaust gas all the time or only in some range of RPM....for example only on idle.... and no under load ex at 2000rpm cruising...TIA
I just replaced both 02 sensors in my Toyota Tacoma yesterday. I had the upstream sensor in for 14 years and the downstream in for 11 years. Man, what a difference in my engines performance. Everything runs so much more smoothly like i just got a major tune up. 485 dollars, but money well spent.

Before spending money on another sensor can you help with what’s going on like I said the sensor was only replaced a year ago could this be a dirty cat? Also do you have any recommendations on cleaning the cat without having to remove it I have been reading people have been putting Lacquer Thinner in the tank ??? thanks for your reply I look forward to hearing from you cheers

My boyfriends car started having error codes ( p0300, p2626, p0132, p0130, p0030, p0302, p0441, p0304) Which I’ve ruled out was the 02 sensor or ECM being bad. He’s literally on the way to his next command (military) and his car broke down at midnight. It sounded like the engine was misfiring and shaking, would go above 40 when driven to the closest but closed mechanic shop. I don’t think it can be anything else but those 2 things. Hopefully it didn’t damage the engine. It had a high meaning, not enough oxygen. And it’s an error before the catalytic converter. Or an error on the ECM and just fucking the engine up…. Huh….

Very helpful at the least now i know i will only have to replace the o2 sensors before the cat.
Thank you

If I add hho from air intake filter box, will that throw off the sensors?
What is hho

Thanks
Heck yeah i get some understanding
Can it detect mafra in it
No
Can you bypass the 02 sensors
No I wouldn’t recommend it

What will happen if air intake is mixed with hho(hydrogen +oxygen)?
Not sure I never tried
The o2 sensor does not sense outside oxygen… just what’s inside the exhaust.
Yes

It also consumes a lot of fuel
4K rpm is high
It reads CO2 not O
