I must say that I generally dislike videos with insert other window. And you made it here so many times. Quite terrible for me. Once or twice is ok, but no so much.
There are two or three of the back views that were effective and interesting, showing the entire train. The rest of them were only annoying and distracting and far too many. I vote for NOT having them.

Sehr sehr schöne Aufnahme mit der schönen alten, Robusten RE620 Dame, dazu in 2160p Auflösung, Sonnenschein pur... Was möchte man mehr? Herzlichen Dank für die Mitfahrgelegenheit in den Schweizer Alpen. Freundliche Grüße aus Deutschland, Bremen.
I watched it while streaming and forgot to comment. Excellent video of a very nice trip in beautiful wheather. It reminded me of the time, I went on holiday in Brig, I took the train to Hohtenn and then hiked the way down to Lalden. Also in beautiful wheather. Thank you for sharing. Forgot to ask you this: did you know, why the ICE train was coming from?
@@pitsrah19660522 Oh right. This was shot on a weekend, and there was likely track maintenance underway - which often leads to the diversion of trains through the marshalling yard. The ICE was probably coming from Chur.
Interesting transition from flat land to smooth incline and then rugged mountains. What is the cost of using the train ferry as contrasted to driving an automobile over the pass, and how much time is really saved? I assume there is a time delay in awaiting, and loading, the train that needs to be factored in.
It's costs about 30 Francs. If you were travelling from Kandersteg to Goppenstein, the drive would take about 3 hours. If you were travelling from Bern to Brig, it might save you about an hour.
It'll be interesting to see what they will do with this old route once the Lötschberg Base Tunnel is double-tracked, hopefully by 2032. Will it be reserved primarily for freight and local traffic like what's being done now with the old Gotthard Pass route?
Among other things, the Lötschberg summit tunnel has a car ferry through it, up to 8 trains per hour. The Lötschberg line will also stay for local and tourist traffic, for the extra capacity, and as a backup in case something breaks in the base tunnel, like what happened last year in the Gotthard.

Very good. Clear weather, clear picture, very detailed. Like the town flags. Like the rear view on right curves. Love the sound (whine)from the drive gears when using up to16MW (21.4 kHP) to accelerate, sounds like a supercharger. Not seen Re 620 in pairs very often, do they ever use a triple or is that too much voltage drop? We passed quite a number of Re620 together in the Basel yard in differing paint.
The SBB used to operate a quite short post train with 3 active Re 620s. It was running northwards on the Gotthard line. Since in Switzerland it is possible to operate trains with up to 20 driven axles, 3 Re 620s are no problem.
@@Suedrampe The 20 axles only apply to locomotives in multiple unit control. There is no limit that I am aware of otherwise. I have seen 4 Re 6/6's in multiple unit control - I assume the drive just deactivated 4 traction motors. With seperate drivers, you can have limitless locomotives in operation.

I actually like both if the other view is kept in an unobtrusive small window on the corner.
