About the Video:
A natural garden reflects the natural landscape that surrounds it, whether it’s the prairies of the Midwest, the forests of New England, the fields of wildflowers in Texas or the starkly beautiful deserts of the Southwest. This style, also referred to as naturalistic or new perennial garden style relies heavily on native plant choices, which will vary depending on where you live.
One of the inherent goals of a naturalistic garden is to conserve resources and reduce our environmental footprint.
Here are my top tips to nailing the naturalistic or new perennial garden style at home:
1. Use Native Plants
2. Choose long-lived, robust plants that don’t require a lot of maintenance and “die elegantly.” Native grasses are also great for this.
3. Include features for wildlife.
4. Use natural, rustic materials that are very neutral in tone. Let the plants shine.
5. Focus on structure and form rather than color.

-Water Features (bird baths, ponds, fountains)
-Bird Feeders
-Nesting places and areas for wildlife to hide
-Rustic Fireplace
-Flagstone Patio

Hi, loved the video and much information was giving.
I design my garden with natural rocks, putting in curves and heights. I also created a Chi Garden of all the elements like (fire water wood and metal) by representing Fire with a chiminey or a red flower, Water a Birdbath, Wood my deck and it is painted red and trees, Metal wrought iron patio furniture and trellis. Thanks I did do something right in designing my Garden.
