Lovely garden, Laurie - I am totally intrigued by your water feature in the shade of a tree. I'm looking forward to exploring your videos - your fur babies are adorable! My poodle Pixie keeps me company in my garden at all times 🥰

Thank you, Lynn! Although they can be demanding at times, I wouldn’t be without my little four-legged friends-my constant companions! Thanks for subscribing!

Same zone here 🇨🇦! My front garden has milkweed, lavender, ladies mantle, irises, rose of Sharon, zinnias, marigolds, globe thistle and a rose bush. Love the pollinators that come for a visit.

I did most of the work-it had the pond and trees when we moved in.

Greeting's from Ireland, great video and lovely garden. I grew up on a small dairy farm in rural Ireland and when I was eighteen I went to work in Dublin where I met my wife. Twenty years ago we bought a small cottage in rural Ireland and my wife wanted a front garden bed. I had no interest in gardening even though my mother loved flower gardening and my father grew veg. Anyway I dug out the bed and then my wife bought some plant's and wanted me to help her plant them and so I did. When those flowers started blooming it ignited a spark in me and off I went digging and digging and planting and planting. Now we have four flower bed's and fifty seven pots in the front garden and a no dig garden veg garden and a glasshouse out the back. The funny thing is my wife has no interest in gardening but she knew if she got me started I might like It.

Some of the hard landscaping was there but yes, I’ve done it all!

New subscriber here. I am a newly retired Missouri Farm girl! I am starting my first pollinator garden this year & have started many of the flowers for it via Winter Sowing which is another 1st for me. I currently have 15 jugs started and got another seed order from Prairie Moon Nursery today. I’m anxious to get them started as well.

Love it! I love Prairie Moon Nursery too…got some Joe Pye Weed from them last year and I’m looking forward to having it come up again this year. Let me know how the winter sowing goes! Cheers!

hey thanks! I think that's pretty common for folks....part of their yard gets different sun or drains better/worse than other areas. we all gotta make the most of it!

What a beautiful garden!!!! To have the pond and trees as a starting point is so fortunate. I loved borrowed landscape, but it can definitely bring challenges. Looking forward to seeing how you handle it all. My neighbor had a huge electrical box in the front yard next to my drive way. It was an eyesore for sure. I put in a section of white picket fence in front if it, and with her permission painted the box hunter green. Then I planted in front with some climbers. Problem solved!

    Laurie,
As a fellow gardener and retiree myself, I understand and can appreciate your challenges. I too have many here in Upstate NY zone 5 b. I’m laughing because one of my most recent challenges is my fury white male “ garden gnome” named Chase who has to mark ownership of every plant that I plant over 3 inches high! Lol! Thank you for sharing your wonderful garden and inspiring others. I feel like I already have a friend in Iowa. Gardening brings people together. I agree, it’s therapy, exercise and rewarding. One day closer to spring! 😊🌱☀️

Heidi, thanks so much-great to meet you! Yes, my little ‘wing nuts’ also like to claim their territory; if only that worked to keep out the rabbits! Happy gardening!
