Is it really improved efficiency or you felt improvement due to battery getting old in your Pixel 6? Recently my P6 battery got swollen due to constant heating due to Exynos garbage. I like to keep the mobiles for long so I decided to get the battery replaced until Google ditches Exynos. Never ever going to repeat the mistake of picking up Exynos ever, it was first and last.
@@OasisExplorerI swapped my battery in my pixel 6 as well. It had about 700 cycles on it and had a screen on time of about 6 hours. Now I get 9 hours. Big improvement.
The biggest upgrade to me is the front facing camera and the design. Either way, those 2 reasons aren't enough to pony up $500 for an upgrade. Definitely, waiting till the 10.
Unless you live in the states where Trump's tariffs will raise prices by $200. Don't expect the 10 to be the same price. It was already probably gonna cost more. I expect +$300 for all models of Pixel 10.
I'm definitely waiting for the 10 but I will say my 6 still holds up extremely well. Incredibly smooth overall, FP sensor has improved over the years with updates, and the battery still lasts me all day. I'm running the Android 15 QPR2 beta on it right now.
Lol typical "results may vary" comment from people using Pixels. Meanwhile, people such as myself had the 6 Pro and 7 Pro and the phone couldn't last half a day.
I recently updated to the pixel 9 pro XL from the pixel 6. I was waiting on the pixel 10 but with tariffs coming I don't know if I would be able to afford it. And I actually love the pixel 9 pro XL. I didn't regret this update.
I will only repeat Google if they ditch the Exynos chip and Samsung camera hardware. Or else going back to good old mod friendly Motorola. Man my 6-7 year old Motorolas are still running fine and feel comfortable in hands but Pixel 6 battery got swollen within 2.5 years and it heats up all the time even during mild tasks which makes it very uncomfortable to hold and use.
I thought the 6 Pro was a well built phone until I recieved my Pixel 9. I didn't realize how much improvement could be made ESPECIALLY with how the camera bar was built the first time around. Yeesh.
I wanted to wait for the 10 because no more Samsung trash but TSMC, but then it'll be a "first generation" device of Google using TSMC so realistically they'll screw something up and it'll be the 11 or 12 that's actually going to be good. At least the 9 is the most refined version of Samsung-processor pixel you can get. Plus I got really tired of the 6 Pro overheating for everything. Despite people claiming it's been fixed with both the 7 and the 8, there's people claiming it's finally actually totally definitely fixed with the 9. It's better at least. It gets warm, kinda like a 2012 laptop, but not so hot that you need to worry. I got the 9 Pro fold and honestly I really like it. I don't play games on mobile, but it's good enough for at least checking in or doing some quick things in Honkai: Star Rail if you need to. Productivity is great
This is the same logic I had. I really did want to wait for the 3 nanometer tsmc node, but then it would be, as you said, 1st Gen. So I went with the nine Pro smaller one and couldn't be happier. And I'll skip the 10 in favor of the 11 or 12 or even 13 if it's still holding up good for me
I have the 6 pro, def waiting for pixel 10 minimum. I dont have issues with fingerprint or modem, but really glad to see improvements to the battery life on the 9. I'm looking forward to a brighter screen, TSMC chip, and qi2, plus longer os updates will allow me to hold onto my next pixel for even longer.
No idea how your battery is going to last that long. You must be a light user. I use TH-cam and Spotify every day. I have to charge soon after getting home from work. Battery doesn't last all day. No way in hell is this battery gonna last another 3 years!
My P6 is still working great. If I were someone who be needed better holiday photos I might think about an upgrade...but with 2 more years of security patches, I think I might wait and see what the P10 or P11 brings with them The kicker for me in this video was the lack of substantial difference between the Tensor 1 and 4 chips. Will wait 😊
Finally, a real video that actually matters a video with value for the normal world and not the tech world. Imagine that thank you for doing such video.
That square like display on pixel 6 is 100 times better than iPhone lookalike rounded pixel 9 display. I even hated pixel 7 display which was slightly more rounded than pixel 6.
Maybe pickup the 8 at the discounted price? 10 might continue with the iPhone esque design and that's not to everyone's taste. The 8 also is the first one to start the trend of 7 years of updates
I was forced to upgrade from the pixel 6 pro and I chose the pixel 9 xl pro. I'd say do it. If the rumors are true and the pixel 10 does launch early. I will trade my 9 in if it's worth it.
Problem with my pixel 7 is that I have crazy lense flare that has been present for the past year. Maybe Google needs to work on the durability of their glass coating
I believe it would be better to wait for the Pixel 11. The specifications are more impressive, and it offers a range of features at a reasonable price. If you’re looking for a more worthy device, you can wait for the Pixel 12, which offers more interesting features 😊
I did and it was worth the jump especially with the trade in value. But if you're not in a rush didn't cause the 6 was great. You will have to wait on some of the AI stuff if you stay with 6
Im one of thise irritated with the optical fingerprint sensor on my pixel 6 but I may wait until the pixel 10 anyways because i'm interested to see the rumored in-house SOC from google. If I were to upgrade to a 9, it would be a pro model to get that vrr display.
IMO, there are only 2 practicalities that make for an upgrade worth change. 5G performance and 5G efficiency. Everything else that is better is "nice to have" but unnecessary
Pixel 9 smartphones are best Pixel ever. Pixel even those who don't buy, would be keen give a chance. Upgrading the design, the screen, the fingerprint scanner were great improvements. I'm not a fan of Pixel UI, too many features lacking, comparing to OneUi or Nothing OS but, only speaking about Galaxy and iPhone is more and more boring, when you live in the West. This new design is the main reason why i would buy a Pixel right now ( both front and back side )
The upgrade from 6 to 9 is obviously an advantage, but considering what's coming on 10 is not worth it. This video felt like a selling product instead of answering the question in the video title. There is no problem selling, but upgrading to Pixel 9 and knowing what is coming on the Pixel 10 is only worth it if you have any other Pixel that is about to die and can't wait.
I’d say it’s worth going for the 9 instead. The design, thermals, fingerprint reader, and battery are much better. Also, the trade-in offers are really good so there’s not much of a reason to settle for the 8.
Honestly, if your phone is 2+ years old, paid off, had many battery cycles, just upgrade. There’s literally no value in keeping it. This applies to all brands.
And if the US employs tariffs on China, Pixel 10 will be a lot more expensive. It's still going to be overpriced for what you get. I just am not impressed with S24 specs either. Base model sucks, + and U models are too big.
@jayjayhooksch1 There has been some chat about a new display tech that might allow them to remove the notch. The same one Google is rumored to use to add better face ID
@@ernstt1616 oh interesting. The little hole punch-out for the camera on the front never bothered me though, but I could see how it could bother others.

That is the clear answer they were afraid to say it in this video. Unless your phone is dying, it isn't worth going to 9 knowing what is coming on 10.
