Finally the Mclaren 720's is on the road, thanks to a little trick from Mclaren! It wasnt easy though from buying it crash damaged in Amsterdam to having to swap the whole tub and rebuild the 720s from scratch. Now ive got to finish it....

Mat is, by far, my favorite automotive TH-camr. Such a positive attitude even when things look bleak. It's great seeing the progress in all of the builds and love the infectious laughs from everyone in the garage. Just a great channel!

Matt's nature does motivate you like that doesn't it but just remember, Matt has "paid his school fees" with working on cars, meaning he has put the time in to have great knowledge/experience of cars, but also Google and other avenues in modern life help a lot to get it done. As Brandon said first, start with something cheap and see if it is something that you take to or it just gets tedious to you

I have one question and don't remember if it has been sorted out : As the new tub comes from a race car (GT3 I presume) isn't there any issue in respect of homologation to get back on the road ? Of course the said tub may have a VIN but are race tubs considered as existing as far as road registries are concerned ? Or at worst you juste use the VIN of the original tub.
Would be interesting to know.

Matt absolutely love your channels. I was an original Top Gear fan. Your channels have filled that void & more. I'm reminded of my younger days rebuilding cars with my mates in the Sydney suburbs. So many highs, lows, pranks, expensive lessons. Mayy stories are still told today! Your dad is a real character & could have his own channel but glad he & Matt part of yours!

Besides just fixing and rebuilding a McLaren you managed to swap the whole setup to another shell which is ever harder. Taking every single piece and transferring it to the next shell even switching it from right hand drive to left hand. Congrats Matt 🤟💯

It's my dream to drive a McLaren one day. I've been looking at Track Experiences with the 720S. Hopefully one day I'll get the disposable income to do it, maybe in 5 or so years. To say I'm envious of you owning one and having the pleasure of completely rebuilding it to boot is an understatement. You're doing great work, and I'm enjoying being along for the journey!
Matt, allot of cars running big boost numbers either don’t have a dip stick or have ones that’s thread in, crank case pressure LOVES to push the dip stick out, causing an oil fire in the compartment. Keep cracking brother!!!! Cheers from Chicago!!!

Great work..tip for cars without dipsticks to set the oil level correctly , ,,,drain the oil ,change the filter , precisely measure out into suitable clean containers the correct amount of oil for an oil change as per the manual for an oil change , add it to the engine and away you go.

I'm impressed! I rebuilt 8 C5 Corvettes from totals and enjoyed doing that. A friend, Shirl Dickey, who got me interested in doing that rebuilt 28 C5's before he retired. A couple of the (so called) totals were in and out of my shop in 3 days, but that wasn't the norm. A friend rebuilt a totaled Lambo.

when your scanning a modern computer controlled car you have to deal with each module. you have to queery the body module for seat belts and air bags not the engine tcu module....that autel should allow you to select from available modules and read and clear form there
half way through and love the content. mechanic myself so its good to know all what you show. cheers matt
