That looked great. I’ve done bits of it before but I’m not familiar with all of the route. I’ve downloaded the GOX file so thank you for providing that. I see someone else has recommended Salterfell from Slaidburn, I second that recommendation it’s well worth doing. 👍
Not a bad shout actually, I’d love a little 2 stroke enduro, maybe a trails I reckon would be good fun, thanks for the inspiration and thanks for watching 💪😎
I’ve done all those lanes around there I’m local to the area but I’ve never done the second one.. going to have a go at it this Sunday now I know where it is.
I see so many comments about attacking the terrain etc. I come from a background of motocross, enduro, trials and road racing at a decent level and now after packing competition in, I spend my time skipping around the green lanes on my World Raid. Enduro bikes, the faster you go the easier it is and even when the bike gets out of shape they are light enough to keep in check. Trials is all balance, clutch and throttle control. The Tenere for me is a real mix of both because you have to think about that weight. Downhill momentum is king. Anywhere the front end is wayward, likely to cross up or muddy low grip, I ride it more like a trials bike (Tenere tractor). Wet rocky climbs fast enough to keep momentum but if you hit those rocks hard with 220kg, that tyres gonna get a puncture! Is all a balance. Hold the bike between your knees, look as far ahead as you can so you can pick a line, and move that body weight around. I’m not an expert in off roading btw, just my opinion.
Thanks for the excellent vid and the route. Indeed the area is lovely, one of my favourite areas so far. I went down the Old Ramsden Road a few months ago (towards the Road Closed Sign ) and it was a nightmare, completely torn up and a real white knuckle ride (for me!). So glad it is being repaired. FIY there is a nice cafe at The Carding Shed Motor Museum, Holmfirth. Worth a stop. Also have you tried the Salter Fell trail yet? Between Slaidburn and Wray. Another nice long easy trail that is also undergoing some repair work I believe..Beautiful area but lots of gates to go through. Another nice little cafe and public toilets by the river on the Settle road in Slaidburn. Cheers.
@@rookierideradv cheers that would be helpful. I’m so shit at that sort of thing. Trying to do anything on my phone or garmin just fills me with dread 😂

Ignoring road closed signs on green lanes is a big no, no! Access to the green lanes in the U.K. is always under a lot of pressure and ignoring the signs can spoil it for everybody.
I keep falling off and the accidents became progressively worse and I decided that ‘attacking’ was probably going to land me in hospital. Did a one to one with Molly at Sweetlamb and learned not to listen to TH-cam videos. Just the stance he teaches on the bike is radically different from anything I could imagine. Essentially I was doing everything wrong and getting away with it with a mix of luck and bravado - ‘surviving’ as Molly calls it. Worth getting training.
you can get a little dongle that allows proper on/off operation of the abs - easy to find online - back brake not front brake mate, don't roll down hills with clutch in, clutch out and using throttle to keep bike balanced is the way, maybe on really steep descents you let the engine do the braking but never roll with clutch in , perhaps roll bars fwd a bit and learn to get elbows out - vertical arms is not the best way to control a bike - easy way to get elbows out is to turn wrists inward on the bars or point the fore fingers toward the reservoirs, feels weird at 1st but the control increase is massive -same with ankles, turn toes into bike and press heels into the frame - knees will then grab the bike and the arms can relax which makes bike control better - pressing on footpegs for change of direction and/or balance, forget arms as tools for control in most occasions, i should focus on riding on your balls of feet too - the mid and rear foot is no help to you if shi7 gets real and will only assist in injury- - good riding by the way, some tasty little lanes there - keep the commitment high 🙂
Very very weird indeed!!! I've never watched your channel before, but today TH-cam decided to suggest this video to me. First up, you're singing Down Under by Men at Work... a classic Aussie song, and the next second I realise you're biking through Thurlstone, and to be specific you turn up High Bank Lane. So why is this weird?... I'm a Yorkshireman who left the UK almost 20 years ago to go live in Australia, and grew up in Thurlstone, and more specifically I used to live on High Bank Lane! How very strange...

They deliberately put road closed signs on. Notice the big stones to stop 4x4s
The TRO is for 4x4 not motorcycles on that lane at the minute
My mistake it is closed to all vehicles while repairs are made.
