      No doubt! They offer a 6 way wedge to if one was to need them smaller but for us this is great. We kind of off set it to make a variety of average pieces and larger ones also. Makes for a good load in the boiler 🤠

  • @ricksanchez7459

    Does dragging the logs fill the bark with dirt? Looks like it would dull a chain quick.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely could but In reality it’s minimized by using it at this staging area and only a short distance. A log will inevitably be drug unless carried out in a grapple then cut off the ground. This processor works very efficiently and has really increased our wood production. Haven’t noticed an issue with the chains dulling more frequently. Thanks for watching, take care!

    Now I might have to get one. Very impressive and it would fit our budget and size of operation. Much more affordable than full on big units. Does the chute have grates on it as well to help sort out the slash from splitting?

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm

      It really is an awesome machine, I think it will be right around that! Does your hydraulic tank have a sight glass Where do set the length indicates right on 16inches or before

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it has a sight glass below the area where the chainsaw cuts through the log, we usually cut at 16” or 18”. We burn this wood in outdoor boilers so the length and thickness of split are never to crucial! Thanks for watching 🤠

  • @justinwekenmann349

    i have the older version WP835 and i have the same saw but MS462CM. Im curious how you mounted your saw to the Pivot arm since the chain saw blade cover has fixed bolts built into it. it makes it impossible to mount the two Bar mounting studs off the arm to the chain saw studs. Did you just remove the fixed nuts on the cover ? any help or info would be appreciated.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm

    If only this type of processor where it uses your chainsaw came with a log lift instead of a winch feed. I'd get one of those. The 661 smokes the other saw you were using. How does using the 661 compare to the other saw you were using in production speed?

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tell ya in my opinion the winch is way more convenient than having a log lift! It also allows for more versatility in the woods by being able to bring the logs to it rather than having a tractor to bring them to the loader. The 661 cuts great, I’d say it cut a few seconds off each cut using it Vs the 361. The 361 however is still plenty of saw for this application but the 661 helps increase production! Thanks for watching 🤠

    • @thefirewooddoctor
      @thefirewooddoctor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm, when I say a log lift would be better for me am saying it from the perspective of using it in my woodyard. With the 8ft logs available to me through the log suppliers that would make more sense for me. Now if had someone always helping me to run the winch cable for me, the winch models would be just fine.

    When was this video filmed? Whats all that greenish stuff on the ground? I'll be glad once the warmer temps get here. I live in NE Ohio and we had 1 day where all the snow melted and we were able to see grass. By the time I woke up the next day it was covered again. But the next few days should be warm enough to melt it all again. That's a really nice back saving processor. Do you burn those large chunks as they are or split them down again? It's so hard to figure out what the right piece of equipment is for a specific operation. I decided to purchase a commercial splitter with the log lift and adjustable wedge. I don't have much issues with my back bucking up logs on the ground, not yet at least.

    • @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm
      @OhioHillTopsHobbyFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeff! This was last weekend, we are really looking forward to warmer weather haha. We have outdoor boilers so splitting them isn’t really a concern.
