The water level should be touching the roots from the very beginning, but not choking out the meristem. A good rule of thumb is to start the water a 1/4" under the basket, as long as they are touching the roots. As long as the water is not drowning the meristem, the water can be raised or lowered at any time.
@@HydraUnlimited Thanks for the reply. I am likely going to use plugs, So the rapid starter plugs. So just set the plug on the shelf and bring the water tlevel up to the exposed roots but not touching the plug itself?
Is there a level on the buckets to fill to? Do you have advice on how much to lower water level over time?
