Big thanks for naming the colors! :) I looked for a Cobalt Blue video, this is the only one I found. Lot of review maker forget this important thing. The colors on the stock photos looks different.
Perhaps RHINOSHIELD is a nice case but just keep in mind when you order it you will wait and wait and wait for the delivery to arrive. Shipping service they use in Europe is ABSOLUTELY useless....
I purchased a Solid Suit for my iPhone 14 a year ago, and have just been sent a replacement from RhinoShield as it has stretched in the corners. There is a noticeable gap between the phone edge and the case now, not really 11:05 happy with it. I also bought one for my daughter’s android and she is having the same issue. Id love to know if anyone else has had this issue with Solid Suit cases purchased a year ago. Thanks for your thorough reviews!
Hi Maura! Thanks for sharing your RhinoShield experience. Because I change cases so often as a reviewer, I don't have great info on long term durability. I do have quite a number of years of experience with RhinoShield cases and I can say that they more or less stayed with the same material for their SolidSuit cases over the years...except for last year. Big changes in the material! The initial versions of the 14 Pro/Pro Max cases last year were overly flexible and I think those went on to stretch out over time. They then tweaked the material and made the cases less flexible and less grippy. And then for the SolidSuit for the 15 Pro series, they completely changed things yet again with an utterly different material. Hopefully they now have the stretching issue under control, but I don't know what their replacement cases for the iPhone 14 series are going to look like. Have you received your replacement case yet?
@@TheTechReviewerI’ve used solid suit for iphone XS, 11 pro, 13 pro max and 15 promax. All have the same issue after 6-8 months. Rhinoshield is always be my top choice when i get a new phone, but i feel like their cases is not good anymore after the ip 14. Really disappointed.
Hmm. The only RhinoShield case I ever noticed stretching on was the iPhone 14 Pro SolidSuit. The initial SolidSuits that they sold at iPhone launch were made quite differently than typical SolidSuits (much grippier and more flexible) and they soon redesigned them. Other SolidSuits have not exhibited any stretching in my experience. BUT…I don’t typically use phone cases long enough to get a good idea of long term wear. As a reviewer, I change cases very often. So my input isn’t that valid for long term use. Thanks for sharing your experience…I encourage you to let RhinoShield know as well. As you have been such a faithful user of their products, I’m sure they would appreciate your feedback and they might be able to help you out with your cases. Good luck!
Thanks!! They are supposedly on the way! Way curious to see Speck’s new products this year…especially the new ClickLock system for accessories. Stay tuned!!
The Clear is less slippery, somehow. Of course grip is very subjective, but the material they make the Clear from feels less slippery to my hands. RHINOSHIELD is sending me more Clear and Mod NX cases, so there will be a video coming on those!! Stay tuned!!
I have iPhone 14 Pro cases from rhinoshield and they switch materials last year one feels rubbery and collect alot of fingerprints and the other one feels like more matte black no fingerprints at all. My question is this year how it feels?
Hi @Paydequezo! Lovely to hear from you. RhinoShield likes to play around with their material formulations, I think...especially for the SolidSuit. I guess they are always searching for the perfect product. So, the version of the SolidSuit in this review, that I received at launch last fall, was quite slippery. No rubbery feeling grip at all. But interestingly, I just reviewed their new CircularNext cases, which are made from recycled SolidSuit cases, and the CircularNext has a small amount of texture to it. It still doesn't feel rubbery in the least, but it is less slippery. You might want to check out the CircularNext cases...they are 100% recyclable and made of 100% recycled phone cases. I think they are pretty unique in the marketplace: th-cam.com/video/QUeTFzEdmeU/w-d-xo.html
Do I have to buy the camera ring separately if I want it in the same color as the case? I know you have to buy the buttons additionally, but I am wondering if the camera ring is included.. Thank you for the great review!!
Hi Lena! Actually, the RhinoShield SolidSuit cases come standard with buttons and a camera ring in the same color as the case. You only need to purchase extra buttons or camera rings if you want to enjoy the look of contrasting colors. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
I have a solidsuit white colour for my 13PM, however sides started to turn yellow. Also can notice some slight yellow on my ocean blue as well (weird I know). So I will be getting a replacement. Does the Shell Beige turns yellow or its fine?
I really don't know...I'm a bad person to ask about long term use data, because I don't use my cases for long enough. I'm sorry to hear about the yellowing, though!! In general, lighter colors are going to be more at more risk for color change...
For me, it is too slippery. There is no texture to it…it is super smooth. Good for keeping clean, though. As far as scratching, it seemed pretty scratch resistant.
Great review. I am a current solid suit user. I have ordered a new Pixel 9 and am considering what to do for my case. I have had good luck with my solid suit but will agree it is a little slippery. I did have to get my case replaced under their (now discontinued) Lifetime Replacement Program, as over time the case became stretched and the once amazing fit now had my phone sliding right out. That being said I have been happy with the case, but am very much considering the Mous Limitless case. Do you have much experience with Mous, in your opinion is it worth the the price? Do you have any other suggestions for Pixel cases other then what is found on Amazon. Thanks in advance
Thank you! I’m afraid I have zero experience with Pixel cases, so I can’t help that much, but I do have quite a bit of experience with both RhinoShield and Mous. Mous cases are good, although they steadfastly refuse to give their cases an actual drop rating. They will give you more grip than the SolidSuit as well. But again…I don’t really know anything about their Pixel lineup…
I love your videos! I also got a question about the SolidSuit for the 15 Pro, previously I used the clear case from Rhinoshield in my 14 Pro Max, but when it was time to remove it, it was too tight it scratched the edges of the phone. Do you think I will have the same situation with the SolidSuit for 15 pro? Or it is as easy to remove as a silicone case?
The RhinoShield Clear is a very hard case to remove...among the hardest that I have encountered. The RhinoShield SolidSuit is going to be much easier for you to get off. It's still a little tight, but nothing remotely resembling the Clear. However, I'm certainly really sorry to hear that your iPhone got scratched when you removed the Clear. I wonder if that might have been due to trapped dust between the case and the phone? I've removed RhinoShield Clear cases many, many times from my phones, and while it is difficult, I've never ended up with any scratching...
@@TheTechReviewer Yes, it actually scratched the phone since the frame of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is made of polished stainless steel, some dust particles harder than the actual material could have scratched the phone edge. Sometimes it is more prone to scratches despite its five-level hardness on the Mohs scale. However, with the 15 Pro, I haven't had any issues at all because the titanium is stronger in terms of scratch resistance compared to stainless steel and also has a brushed finish, which can hide or resist scratches more effectively than the 14 Pro Max used to. I am checking out more polycarbonate cases like the one Benks released, which is a similar material to the RhinoShield Clear case or the Apple Clear case, and it doesn't yellow over time. So, I'm going to check that out as well. Regarding the SolidSuit, thank you for your review. I've had the case for more than a month, and it is nearly perfect, with just some caveats like the style of the camera ring, which could be more minimal, and the case could have more personality in the design. Other than that, its resistance to drops is excellent. I dropped the phone twice-really hard drops-and nothing happened to the phone at all, not a single scratch, not a single bump. So this case is really good. Thank you for your review as well.
thanks for the review - do you know if, when they update the design/materials/etc. for the new phones, it applies to the cases for the older phones as well? i know the solid suit has gone through multiple iterations, so am wondering - if i bought the case for e.g. the iphone 13 - whether it would be the newest materials & design... from the website it seems like yes but just want to be sure!
That’s an excellent question. So, some companies go back and update their older case models and some don’t. RHINOSHIELD did that last year for a bunch older iPhone models, but I don’t know if they have updated them further for this year. They may wait until all the older design cases have been sold before making the switch? Just guessing. I think the only way to know is to ask RHINOSHIELD…
Great video! I really like this case, but the loose buttons when it's on the phone drives me up the wall lol. I hate having OCD 😂 I use a Torras Shockproof Magsafe case in blue with my Blue Titanium 15 Pro and I'm a big fan of it.
For the solid suit cases does the actual magnet on the back of the case still protrude? I purchased a iPhone 14 Pro last year and it definitely protruded through the back of the case. Also, was trying to use your discount code, but it did not work. Was it for a certain time?
Hi@sidekiick29! The code THETECHREVIEWER88 now has a minimum order value of $50, so if the order is under $50, it will just say that the code is invalid, which is irritating. I asked RhinoShield to change the error message to something more descriptive, but apparently their tech guys can't do it. Anyway, you need to be on the rhinoshield.io site, and be over $50 and it should work. And, the magsafe magnets look fine so far, but I know what you are talking about...after some months of use, the magsafe magnets on the early version of the SolidSuit cases started to protrude very slightly out the back of the case. They changed the formulation of the cases after that, and they became much less grippy. Not sure if that fixed the gradual movement of the magnets or not. With this new SolidSuit, the material is different yet again...not sure how it will behave over time. For now, everything looks fine.🤞
Hi I'm looking for a case for my iPhone 12, which one do you recommend? For now I was thinking of the solidsuit or the Clear case. So I said to myself: "I'm going to take the MagSafe compatible Solidsuit"... What do you think? Is it as good as the one for iphone 15 ? Thank you
Hi Luca! I’m afraid I don’t really know what RhinoShield’s cases are like now for the iPhone 12. They have made big changes to the SolidSuit line, and I don’t know if those changes have been applied to previous generations, but I think they have. The original SolidSuit for the iPhone 12 had a bit of texture…the ones for the iPhone 15 series are quite slick, with zero texture. It also looks like the iPhone 12 SolidSuit is now available with swappable camera rings, and this was never an option on the original iPhone 12 SolidSuits, so to me this would indicate that the older iPhone model SolidSuits have probably been updated to the new design. Sorry I can’t be more helpful…
@@TheTechReviewer OK no problem, you've already helped me a lot... Thank you very much... But otherwise I think they left the old model as it was and they made this new model with Magsafe... But in any case, do you recommend the old version? Or is there a brand that you would recommend? What do you think of the Clear case magsafe model for iphone 12? Thanks in advance
Hi Luca! So, there are a lot of good cases out there for the iPhone 12. It just depends on what factors are important to you. Regarding the RHINOSHIELD Clear, it wasn't originally available for the iPhone 12...it came out with the iPhone 13, so I've never seen it for the 12. But it is a nice case overall. The biggest downside, and it is considerable, is that it is very hard to remove from your phone. Not a good choice for a frequent case changer! And it is going to show scratches and fingerprints much more than the SolidSuit. Other good case brands to consider, in my opinion, are Speck, OtterBox, Mous, Gear4 and CASETiFY. Pitaka and Benks also have some nice cases if you are into aramid fiber. But if you are looking for a case which is made from food grade and BPA/F/S free material, I think RHINOSHIELD is the only one with those features. Good luck with your case choice, and thanks for watching!!
Thanks for sharing your RhinoShield experience. Last year, there were issues over time with the rear camera rim not staying in place securely, but they really improved the design this year. I think the new camera rim design is very secure.
Nice colours nice case, too bad about the grip though. I don’t know if I could ever cover up a beautiful colour phone like that. Looking forward to some clear case reviews.
Hi RJToon1! The lack of grip is disappointing, but the SolidSuit still has a lot to recommend it! Slim, light, great magnets and lovely colors as well as print options. RhinoShield also has a clear case and I’ll be reviewing that later…😀
Hi White Wolf! Nice to hear from you, and congrats on the new iPhone 15! I don't have any of the iPhone 15 phones, just the 15 Pro and Pro Max, but looking at the colors online, I think the pale blue of the iPhone 15 would look best with either the Tide Blue or the Black SolidSuit...
these new cases retain a lot of fingerprints and piles of from hands which im not able to get eid of easily with a cloth. is there any way i can get rid of these stuff on my case??
Hi @taco! So sorry to hear it! So, RHINOSHIELD has the following cleaning info on their website: support.rhinoshield.io/hc/en-sg/articles/360043456753-My-product-has-gotten-dirty-is-there-any-way-that-I-can-clean-it-
I just got the Mod NX with clear back for my wife’s 15 and while it feels great, the sides do feel kinda slippers and it makes the phone noticeably wider and taller. In the looks department RhinoS is amazing. My question, does their solid suit make the phone noticeably wider and taller like the Mod nx bumper? Thanks!
Hi! Don't know for the 15, but for the 15 Pro Max, the SolidSuit is a quite a bit thinner than the Mod NX. It is, however, very slightly wider than the Mod NX. And the two cases are the same height.
@@TheTechReviewermod X only with a bumper in the summer is the best thing because of overheating when you live in a hot area the phone can breathe in summer normally
I wouldn't say it is bulky...but I guess it depends upon what you are comparing it with. It's a little bit bigger than the Apple Silicone case, for example, but the difference isn't that much...
Is this case compatible with Camera Protectors? Haven’t been able to find a case that is. Other suggestions for cases that are compatible with a camera protector?
In my experience, it's best to get lens protectors that are made by the same brand as the case you buy. This is going to ensure compatibility. RhinoShield makes lens protectors, by the way: shop.rhinoshield.io/products/lens-protector/buy?_ga=2.257376779.16805486.1696429107-418267618.1696429100&device=iphone-15-pro&lens_color=black
Hi Michael! No CrashGuard samples yet...however, the one Mod NX sample that I have does have more grip than the new SolidSuit. And the CrashGuard and Mod NX have usually been very closely related to one another...so there is hope!
@@TheTechReviewerhi hope you are doing well. A question for the mod nx I saw a review on this case at an other TH-cam channel and they indicated that the grip on the mod nx is very grippy. Sounds like you agree can you just confirm that because I have been waiting for years for this company to add grip to their cases. It would be fabulous if the grip on the mod nx is really grippy
@amwalmsley7742 Hi Alicia! Great to hear from you! Hope you are doing well. For the Mod NX, I have some coming via FedEX…they should arrive this weekend. A truly grippy Mod NX would be wonderful. I’ll let you know!!
@@TheTechReviewer Hi Kristin good to talk to you it’s been a while I always go on major case hunts when I get a new iPhone. Just purchased a new iPhone 15 pro went with the smaller size coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Max just tired of the size and weight of the pro max to be honest hard to pocket feels like a brick in my bag and it’s been three years so I wanted a new phone. I also went with the natural titanium went to the Apple Store twice and finally made a decision I can’t believe how hard that decision was to be honest I was torn between the white titanium and the natural but when I saw the natural titanium in person boy did it ever look sharp. The white titanium just had too much silver in it in my opinion I wish Apple would make a pure white phone
@@TheTechReviewer hit sent by accident anyway yes looking forward to the new size unfortunately delivery is in 3 weeks. I think everyone is ordering the natural titanium….lol. Unfortunate that they are slippery Hopefully over time the wear should help with grip Great that it’s BPA free considering how much contact one makes with their phone daily Great video as usual 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Hi Laura! If you are looking for a grippier case, I'd go with the Apple Silicone. It's going to give you quite a bit more grip than the RhinoShield SolidSuit. However, the Apple Silicone is a bit of a lint magnet and it is going to be harder to keep clean than the SolidSuit. Also, I don't think it will provide as much drop protection...
Absolutely. Quality products! I’ve got some Symmetry, Soft Touch Symmetry, and Commuter models on the way. And maybe a Defender…not sure. Stay tuned, Ari!
I haven’t gotten my OtterBox Symmetry review samples for the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max yet, so I can’t tell you for sure, but if you were comparing this year’s SolidSuit to last year’s Symmetry, the Symmetry would be much grippier. The new SolidSuit is super slippery. Interestingly, however, the Mod NX is much grippier than the SolidSuit…and even the Clear is grippier…
@@TheTechReviewer ordered the clear today and arrive later today , I got the iPhone 15 pro max blue titanium and Casetify clear black case but only 3-4 days and the case got some scratches on the black already , really disappointed 😞 I m bit worry about the rhinoshield clear case it will very difficult to take out from my phone , and point will fall out ?
I’m sure your Blue Titanium 15 Pro Max looks gorgeous in a clear case! Unfortunately, all clear cases scratch…it’s just a characteristic of the material. On the pro side, they don’t tend to turn yellow, and some (like the RhinoShield Clear) even guarantee ‘no yellowing’. As far as getting the RhinoShield Clear on and off your iPhone, putting it on shouldn’t be difficult, but as I mentioned before, it is super tight to remove….
I've been watching videos about CASETIFY and RHINOSHIELD cases and i keep getting ads about fucking Mous cases instead. Based on the videos, Mous cases are overkill for the average person. Plus I dont like how any of them look.
Hi Ashton! Lol! Mous cases have a very specific look…it’s not for everyone. And the range of color, graphics or other customization options is very limited.
Bonjour,
Thanks for sharing your RhinoShield experience.
Which color is the closest to Apple silicon winter blue?
Hi Colin! So sorry...I don't know. I'm not that familiar with all the Apple silicone case colors...
hi I just got iphone 15 in blue colour, which colour of solid suit do you think will look elegant, classy, and gentlemanly
@@TheTechReviewer okay,
thanks for good information
Happy to help!!
these new cases retain a lot of fingerprints and piles of from hands which im not able to get eid of easily with a cloth. is there any way i can get rid of these stuff on my case??
Hi @taco! So sorry to hear it! So, RHINOSHIELD has the following cleaning info on their website: support.rhinoshield.io/hc/en-sg/articles/360043456753-My-product-has-gotten-dirty-is-there-any-way-that-I-can-clean-it-
@@TheTechReviewer thanks, this helps
😊
hi, does lints or dirt easily stick on the case? thank you
No. It's a very smooth surface and it isn't going to attract lint or dirt.
@ddst777 Good point! Thanks for sharing your experience !
Would you say this case is pretty bulky? I love bulky cases but not sure if this one is thin or thick
I wouldn't say it is bulky...but I guess it depends upon what you are comparing it with. It's a little bit bigger than the Apple Silicone case, for example, but the difference isn't that much...
@@TheTechReviewer would you say less/as/more bulky than an Otterbox defender?
@user-cs9rv7gv9t Less bulky than the Defender 😊
does the protector get dirty with fingerprints when you touch it? Black color
I don't think the black color SolidSuit is going to pick up many fingerprints. It certainly doesn't for me!
Great review as always. Have you tried the CrashGuard? I wonder if it has more of a grip.
Good to know you have the rhinoshield mod nx coming in will definitely be interested so see what you think of the sides. I know you review cases and always talk about how much grip a case has which I appreciate. Enjoy your new phone it looks amazing will check in with you for more case reviews take care 🙏🏻
could u do a video on the shell beige one with the natural titanium phone, sorry this is quite late.
I’m not sure I will get a chance to make a dedicated video on that color combo, but I can tell you it looks nice…
Unfortunate that they are slippery
Hopefully over time the wear should help with grip
Great that it’s BPA free considering how much contact one makes with their phone daily
Great video as usual
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Thank you! And you are right...the grip might improve with time. Fingers crossed!!
Too slippery🤔?? This or Apple Silicone?? Thanks
The case looks and feels good but is far too slippery in everyday use, using it stressed me out. I went back to my good old Spigen case.
Yeah...this year's SolidSuit is super slippery. 😢
Nice case but I’m waiting to see the pitaka on the 15PM video 💪🏾
😊
I got one for my iPhone 15 Pro, and I disagree. This phone case has a good grip! Not slippery for me.
So happy to hear it!! Grip is a funny thing...very subjective. Enjoy your SolidSuit!!
Cool
You like otterbox case ?
Absolutely. Quality products! I’ve got some Symmetry, Soft Touch Symmetry, and Commuter models on the way. And maybe a Defender…not sure. Stay tuned, Ari!
the solid suit was grippy or slippy
Slippy!!!
@@TheTechReviewer Otterbox Symmetry more grip or same
I haven’t gotten my OtterBox Symmetry review samples for the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max yet, so I can’t tell you for sure, but if you were comparing this year’s SolidSuit to last year’s Symmetry, the Symmetry would be much grippier. The new SolidSuit is super slippery. Interestingly, however, the Mod NX is much grippier than the SolidSuit…and even the Clear is grippier…
@@TheTechReviewer thanks for your reply and good information
❤️
You dotn have the clear one review ?
I am in the process of reviewing it right now, actually. Great case…as long as you aren’t a frequent case changer, as it is difficult to remove 😊
@@TheTechReviewer I bought the clear case 2-3 days, very nice case . No scratches.
@@TheTechReviewer and well , Casetify clear case only few day and already got some scratches..... That no good at all
I've been watching videos about CASETIFY and RHINOSHIELD cases and i keep getting ads about fucking Mous cases instead. Based on the videos, Mous cases are overkill for the average person. Plus I dont like how any of them look.
Hi Ashton! Lol! Mous cases have a very specific look…it’s not for everyone. And the range of color, graphics or other customization options is very limited. Sounds like RHINOSHIELD or CASETiFY may be better choices for you. I’ll be reviewing the RHINOSHIELD Mod NX cases and Clear cases soon, so stay tuned!
Nice nice
Thanks, Ari!!
