Come on a Hike with Willa in Sedona, Arizona

Before we dive in, I want to point out that Willa is wearing a Gentle Leader. We met another V in Arizona who was wearing one who did not leash pull at all and we got to talking with her parents about how harnesses don't work with Vs and the best tool they have found was the gentle leader, so we are trying it out. Willa's pulling has been getting worse lately while we are on this trip visiting new places every day she's very excited to take it all in and we're doing our best to "rein her in".
The second point here is that Willa is used to being off-leash on hikes in Canada, where she can sprint around and do her own thing, her recall is still intact thank god. But no hikes in Arizona allow dogs off leash because of the dangerous cacti on every corner. The gentle leader is also helping Willa stay as close to me as possible when needed because there are so many cacti around, we need to make sure she is safe.
