Signage in NJ on many roads is to long-standing destinations because the road often predates the numbering system. US 40 says Camden because it is the Black Horse Pike between Atlantic City & Camden and where most of the traffic on the route travels. Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township is the county seat and far more important than Vineland for traffic. US 322 isn't some random highway, it's a major road in Pennsylvania and goes all the way to Cleveland, the "Lakes to Sea Highway." It's pronounce Byoo-nah.
This was an awesome supercut of US 40 westbound, I can’t wait for the future playoff episodes, FL 408 in Orlando and US 61 southbound!! US 61 southbound will be your first time in Arkansas and Tennessee on your channel since 2022, so I’m excited about that video because of it being the Super Bowl video and you’re the GOAT of highway content I love your videos!!
I wasn’t planning on posting a list for the entire route westbound, but for the sake of keeping up with all of your videos, I’ll do so. As usual for U.S. Routes with substantial Interstate concurrencies, I’m going to focus on JUST the U.S. highway portion. Atlantic City-Egg Harbor Township-Vineland-Wilmington-Elkton-Aberdeen-Baltimore-Catonsville-Ellicott City-Frederick-Hagerstown-Clear Spring-Hancock-Cumberland-Frostburg-Grantsville-Keysers Ridge-Uniontown-California-Washington-Claysville-West Alexander-Wheeling-Bridgeport-St. Clairsville-Morristown-Old Washington-Cambridge-New Concord-Zanesville-Gratiot-Hebron-Kirkersville-Reynoldsburg-Columbus-West Jefferson-London-Springfield-Vandalia-Englewood-Lewisburg-Richmond-Cambridge City-Knightstown-Greenfield-Indianapolis-Brazil-Terre Haute-Marshall-Martinsville-Casey-Greenup-Jewett-Montrose-Effingham-Altamont-Brownstown-Vandalia-Greenville-Highland-Troy-Collinsville-East St. Louis-St. Louis-Chesterfield-Wentzville-Warrenton-New Florence-Kingdom City-Columbia-Boonville-Concordia-Odessa-Blue Springs-Kansas City-Tonganoxie-Lawrence-Topeka-Junction City-Abilene-Salina-Russell-Hays-WaKeeney-Oakley-Sharon Springs-Cheyenne Wells-Kit Carson-Limon-Aurora-Denver-Lakewood-Genesee-Downieville-Fraser-Granby-Kremmling-Steamboat Springs-Craig-Vernal-Roosevelt-Duchesne-Heber City-Park City-Salt Lake City. Perhaps I’ve missed it in a previous video from before I first discovered this channel (I 80 East), but what is your gripe with Columbia? If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you hate it more than the L word.
Ah, US 61, the Blues Highway. Drove that between Baton Rouge and Vicksburg checking out Natchez and St. Francisville along the way. Great highway! Excited to see your coverage of it.
30:51 I agree that the planners of the time had their priorities wrong. Hopefully one day we will learn to build park and rides and trains rather than urban freeways
It would have been nice for a shout out of Historic US 40 over Donner Pass near Truckee CA. The Donner Pass Rainbow Bridge is one of the most beautiful in the US, right up there with the Golden Gate and Big Sur's Bixby Bridge. By the way, US 40 goes over Donner Pass, while I-80 goes over Donner Summit a couple of miles north of Donner Pass.
In regards to your MD-68 and I-68 question, MD-68 was first. I-68 didn't come around until 1991. Until that moment, I-68 was signed as the original US-48.
I'm spending $10 bc I dont know if you'll count this as 2 requests or one, If the video is I-110, show exit 20A, bc it's the LA Memorial Coliseum exit, which hosted the NASCAR Busch Clash from 2022-24, bit if it's I-279, show the underpass with US-19 bc it serves as a major road in Asheville areas where I live, if it's neither, then I wasted my money, either way, mention that I'm praying for the people in LA
US-40 in Baltimore could also have been signed on Franklin and Mulberry streets in that short freeway section, similar on how frontage roads on Interstate highways (and other highways as well) are. Then you can tear the freeway section out, designate it into express lanes, or leave them as is. That would also resolve the issue of US-40 not meeting up with US-1, as the frontage streets would take care of that issue. But, Baltimore is strange. I mean, who ends a major Interstate route at a Park and Ride? Only Baltimore.
Her is what's in and out for 2025: IN - Ranting about bad control cities - Accepting highway requests - Exploring new destinations - Doing the Merritt/ Wilbur Cross Parkway or US 50 OUT - Limon - Limon - Limon - Oh did I mention Limon
What’s US-40 and I-70 like to you with US-40 leaving and rejoining I-70 Todd aka CCF? I know of Elmer NJ cause of a famous TH-camr. Also watch what you say about the St. Louis Cardinals haha.
It doesn't officially exist beyond that point in Utah anymore. If there are still signs in CA it's either by mistake or they have the historical route marked like they do with 66.

Hope you Highway 30 and Highway 69 . I live in Ames Iowa, where those two great highways meet. I love your informative videos !
Hope that US 62 is on your to-do list, Todd. I'd definitely buy a super-sticker for that one!
It is, but if we play Buffalo in the AFC chip it definitely won't be that! Can't sort that in 4 days or whatever
at 51:41 is the beginning of the Limon rant...

Whoa you're right! Been a minute since I've been to AR or TN
Enjoy your videos. Don't get to travel much so it's nice to see different parts of the USA
I’ve been on US 40 back in July I have pics of the US 40 Sheld my own pics and I got pics of THE MOST HYPED INTERSTATES I-68 and I thought of you

Oh definitely. It's mainly because of the joke of a "university" they have there.

Now that the Chiefs will next play the Texans, the Sam Houston Tollway (TX 8) would be perfect for the next video.
I think Beltway 8 has already been done. How about US 59? (Bonus - it goes through Lawrence as well!)
@davidfreesefan23 He did 610 in Houston a few weeks ago
Gonna do power ranking the metro area
Lol can't exactly slap that one together in 2 days
US 83 would be cool to see
I plan to do that one before too long
@@ControlCityFreak Great. I have been up 83 from North Platte Nebraska to Minot North Dakota back in 1996. Loved the sandhills.

Thanks! Yeah I hope things get better in LA for sure. I'll get you on both, I'll do both roads eventually

Better hope Todd doesn’t cover US 24 or 287 then 😉

you go up the 14th step of the Denver capital that you are officially a mile above sea level.
The 64 stuff, I think Columbia would be okay out of St Louis but KC is the better option.
KC is the only choice
can you do 441
Lame. I live in California by Auburn and there's 40 hwy markers. Lazy ending it in utah.

New Jersey copying New York.. lol 😆!!
