Hey Russ, got some AR info for you about this trip. Piggott, AR was the home of Ernest Hemingway & his 2nd wife, Pauline. Ernest wrote a part of "Farewell to Arms" while living there. There is the Hemingway-Pfeiffer House museum in Piggott.
Also, in Eureka Springs, you missed going to the "haunted" Crescent Hotel. My wife & I went to Eureka Springs every Thanksgiving weekend for several years with our close friends. The funnel cake store you pointed out was our favorite place to rest & have a tasty funnel cake. This trip brought back memories of our time in AR. We retired 8 years ago & transplanted to Spokane, WA to be near our daughter & family. Thanks for sharing this trip!

Wish you had had a chance to see the Crescent Hotel and where the Passion Play is held. First went to Eureka Springs in the 70s and it still has the same charm today in the downtown area.

My grandparents moved to Mountain Home back in mid 1952. I was 11 years old when we as a family of 7 made that trip in a classic old car, a 2x4 stretched across the back seat so the five of us kids could see outside. My oh my what memories come to mind.👍❤️

Sitting in my chair with my dog on my lap and traveling through Arkansas with you.
I also have my Google maps up and following along on the journey.
One day, between all your actual journeys and the places you would have liked to stop, I would love a travel guide.
I'm getting closer and closer to doing some road trips too.
I've fantasized about moving from town to town and staying maybe a month at a time to really reach out and explore before moving to the next small town.

If you ever return to Eureka Springs, try to visit the (supposedly haunted) historical Crescent Hotel & see the Christ of the Ozarks statue.
The residential streets are packed with 100-year-old elegant "Painted Lady" Victorian homes.

The place does not feel right at all. Been there several times. When they found jars with human remains in them buried on the grounds at the Crescent Hotel, you know something is not right about the place. Not to mention it being used a place to cure cancer but no one was ever cured. People suffered, died and were being used as test subjects by a psycho doctor and his staff. All truth.

It is not supposedly haunted it is absolutely haunted. Fact. My mother helped reopen the crescent hotel in 1972 when I was 12. I saw the nurse downstairs and no one believed me for 10 years. Now they’re all about it with their ghost tours. $$$$$$$$

I've been living here in Eureka Springs for the better part of 40 years. I really got a kick out of your navigating the narrow streets here Russ, lol. Great stuff. Riding the Trolleys is my favorite means of transportation here. Parking is scarce. Loved your walk up behind downtown Basic Park. If I had my druthers, I'd rather be living in an RV somewhere around Quartzsite AZ, but I definitely can't complain about living here. Excellent video, best I've ever seen of Eureka Springs, by far. 👍

Eureka Springs is one of my favorite places in the Ozarks. You saw about half of the town. When you decided to make a loop, you could have continued going up to the top of the hill to the Crescent Hotel. The whole town is gorgeous. It is best to park and take the trolly all around town. Best way to see everything.

Some of this reminds me of when I was a little girl and my daddy;s best friend had a house boat on a lake in SC. I remember spending weekends there...me, my Ma and Pa, and Lane and Betty, my Godparents...I slept on a pull out sofa, and I remember the gentle rocking ofthe houseboat ...there was a window next to my sofa where I could see the stars...to this day, as a 59 year old woman, my dream is to experience that again...doesn't have to be a houseboat...but just camping😍

Hi Russ: The Note about the only US Highway connecting Canada to Mexico. US 62 is not the ONLY highway, it's the only US highway. There are still a couple of interstates (I-5 and I-35, for example), but those are Interstates, not US Highways. Of course, those interstates replaced other US Highways that originally connected Canada to Mexico. Interstate 5, for example, wiped out US 99, which connected Canada to Mexico back before 1964. Great video!

Just found your channel a few days ago when your travel show about Arkansas popped up on TH-cam feeds. I grew up in Southwest AR but my husband and I, along with our two children, lived near Pocahontas for 5 yrs in the early 90’s. We saw all the sites up that way. Eureka Springs and Hot Spring are popular places for Arkansans to visit. Eureka is famous for several of its haunted hotels and all the old buildings, including gorgeous old homes and all of its shops. Often Eureka Springs visits entail a trip up to Branson MO to go to the amusement park Silver Dollar City. You mentioned the houses on stilts. Good to see Pocahontas has made a come back. They had a terrible flood this n 2017. There are often earthquake tremors over that way due to the New Madrid fault line. There was a 7.5 in the early 1800’s. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for posting them.

@@rbjones72703 it's been decades since we drove up there and we asked the residence at the little house up there on the hill about it. My family loved that place.

Great video really enjoyed the ride along. When you made your right turn in Ash Flat where Mark Martin Chevrolet is on that corner if you would have went straight heading towards Evening Shade AR. You were within 6 miles of my house which made your video much more fun for me. I enjoyed your view of Eureka Springs I took my mother to see the Christ of the Ozarks but my RV is to big to drive through that town and mother could not walk that good so I never got to see it. Now I can't walk so good so I haven't been back go back and forth to M-Home a lot still. Again great video.

Glad you liked the trip through northern Arkansas. I've gone to Eureka Springs many times going to & from Branson, MO. The last time I went through Eureka Springs I came close to getting my car smashed up by a heard of deer frantically running down the hill on Douglas St. Luckily only some young fawns actually hit my car so no major damage to the car nor the deer. If you go through Arkansas again go across US-64 especially in July See historic Van Buren, Ozark, The Arkansas Wine Country (Altus, AR) were they hold a grape festival during the last part of July, and a lot more.

I enjoyed your trip through Arkansas. You missed so much. There was an Ernest hemmingway house in Piggott and you missed the passion play passion of Christ statue and the old insane hospital called the Crescent Hotel in Eureka springs. I guess you didn't have time but next time stop by! We'll worth it!

Hey, RVerTV, we just discovered your channel and really enjoy riding along with you. Most recently we have been inspired to visit Eureka Springs, so thank for that one. Last year we visited Iceland and rented a camper van to travel around the country in. We were curious about your van and if you have a kitchen or toilet…. Thank you!

If that big tree was an Oak I found out at a Ladies Retreat this weekend that an aOaks root system is 3 times the height of the tree! That’s why it’s called The Mighty Oak! So interesting! Thank you for showing Arkansas!❤️😀🇺🇸🚙🙏

Arkansas is a pretty state. While living in Kansas we spent many a weekend on the Arkansas winding roads! We rode highway 65 a lot! Interesting fact on 62. Please show more of the RV parks you stay at. We motorhomed for about 8 years. Love the RVer life! Be safe🤠
