Episode 124: Rethink 794 - Milwaukee Central Park Project - Bridge The City

Milwaukee Central Park Signature Tower will be 235 meters tall, paying homage to the original that was 235 feet tall. Maintaining the same level of beauty and sophistication as the original. Providing a world class space to our residents and a welcoming symbol to the world!
Archway is 98 feet tall paying homage to the original arch built in 1898! Attempting to re-create the Champ de Mars here in Milwaukee! A world class space that is synonymous with the heart of Paris. Milwaukee will never be the largest city, nor the richest. So we must remember our culture, our heritage, our architecture and embrace the past as we head into the future!
Mission of the Milwaukee Central Park Project is to remove the elevated highway in downtown Milwaukee. Ramping the Marquette interchange down to the River. Lowering the Hoan Bridge down to Lincoln Memorial. Once the deteriorating highway has lived the rest of it’s life we will remove it and replace it with the Milwaukee Central Park and dense walkable development. Connecting downtown and the third ward with green-space, walking paths and bike lanes. Increasing density and adding value to the tax base with high rise developments that significantly increase the population across all income levels. A more walkable and pedestrian centric city center. Focusing on the advantages of proximity for economic growth. A new epicenter of cultural gatherings and a singular identity. On the eastern edge facing Lake Michigan, we will build a gateway building serving as a door to the rest of the world. Doubling as a public meeting space and observation platform. Our city is on the verge of something big, we have so much potential here, let’s show the world what we are made of. Please take time to share your thoughts and opinions on the future of Milwaukee.

The Third Wards tallest apartment Tower! Wonderful new addition to the city and hopefully the first in a long line to break ground in the 3rd Ward! Predicting that this tower will be completed before the Couture.

What do you think about naming the team the Milwaukee Brigade? Where the stadium will be built is called "Iron District MKE". Which brings to mind the Iron Brigade... super famous unit in the Civil War, mostly from Wisconsin that helped the Union win. They were led and founded by Brigadier General Rufus King. Yes like the high school! The Iron Brigade was also known as the Black Hats because of their unique head gear. Just like the Packers have "cheese heads", Milwaukee fans could be known as the "Black Hats". We could wear more modern and slick versions or absolutely obnoxious goofy versions all the same. It would be a very unique look and name. While at the same time paying homage to our proud culture/history. Please let me know what you think - Milwaukee Brigade for the Iron District!

Great update! Milwaukee has a lot of exciting developments on the horizon. The downtown area is progressing nicely, and I'm particularly looking forward to the removal of I-794. It will greatly enhance the aesthetic of the downtown area.

The Midwest overall is having a comeback. Once people get it out of there minds about the past and the WEATHER theyll understand that if they want affordability and housing theyll start flocking as hard as theyve been to Texas and Florida. The people in thos region are pleasant, and the inveatment has been insane, especially i Columbus,OH.i cant wait till all the passenger rail linea are built and connected alll through the Midwest. Even Cleveland and deteoit are back on the upswing, People are asleep now but wait in 5 -10 years they will flock

I want to see that gas station developed into something similar to 333 as well as the post office trailer lot next to it. Prime spots being wasted that would look great with some height!
I agree the gas station and the plot to the south of there too! It is interesting that BP is one of the only gas stations in downtown though.

The new building downtown looks like it actually has more than 44 floors.
I’ll need to count to double check!
I could be wrong but it appears on the renderings that the 44th floor has a loft which would actually make it a 45th floor. Don't forget that the elevator actually has to be higher then the top floor as well which would add to height and give the illusion of a 46th floor on the elevator shaft
@@packfvr I saw that as well in the blue prints I don’t know what counts as a “floor” but I know the top unit has a loft. Question is does it begin on 43, or 44?

Another beautiful video... my only disappointment is that Milwaukee deserves an MLS team. We have other top tier sports teams, so it only seems right. That said, the US needs relegation in its leagues lol.
I agree I would like to see US soccer rebranded incorporating every adult team in every league to give everyone a chance to be apart of the top level. Doesn’t matter if your club has 5 thousand supporters or 5 million if you win you move up. Some real American spirt action, work hard and you’ll make it to the top. No more good ol boy, elitist, pay to play nonsense. I don’t care how much is invested in a stadium if your team doesn’t perform you move down.
Ideally I’d like to see 500 clubs across the country in 5 leagues with their names that are ambiguous but simple to understand for a non fan. I find European leagues to be confusing unless you know. Is Premier better than Champions I wouldn’t guess so? But I like those types of names I’m thinking alphabetic to make it simple. Once we know the rule then everyone will understand.
For example 5 Leagues A - E. A = Best. E = Worst. But the names wouldn’t give it away. For example:
1 - Apex
2 - Brilliant
3 - Champion
4 - Dominant
5 - Elite
Could also pick whatever letters you wanted as long as they follow the same rules it would make it easy for the casual observer to follow along. A - Z. What do you think? How would you organize it?
