  • NBA Legends Explain Why It’s So Hard To Guard Victor Wembanyama
We've seen our fair share of rookies making waves in the league, but this 7-foot-4 forward center isn't just turning heads, he's rearranging the entire defensive playbooks of NBA teams.
And what makes this kid stand out isn't just his stature. No, no, no. Wembanyama moves like a point guard and dribbles past defenders easily. He also launches three-pointers from Steph Curry's territory. I mean, who does that?
So, why is it so darn hard to guard Victor Wembanyama? Stick around, because we're diving deep into the skills and strategies that make this 19-year-old rookie a nightmare. Let's roll.

Even better. I've never seen a 7.4 ft NBA player, so skilled and moving so well. He's only going to become better. I agree. He's going to change the NBA forever. Shooting CHECK, View CHECK, rebounds CHECK, blocking CHECK, dunking CHECK, passing CHECK, skills CHECK... I feel sorry for the opponents, who (will) have to guard him already. Looks like he's going to become unguardable. (He's a very good free throw point shooter as well, unlike Shaq.)

I think it's mostly due to his height, people assume that it is easy for him just because he's tall, disregarding all his effort to reach this skill level, everytime there are always the same comments saying " if I was 7 foot 4, I would do this and that",
add to this that he's European and on top of that french it's easy for the average American to hate him, at least in my modest opinion.

Who is hating? I haven’t liked the NBA in over almost 2 decades. Since the last greats from the 90’s retired like Reggie Miller, Kobe Shaq.. it’s just not the same. Now, I try to record and tune into every spurs game. I fuqing love Victor Wembanyama. He has renewed my interest in the nba which I thought was dead forever.

what's crazy is that while Wemby is gonna be the Pinnacle of this "big man who moves and balls out like a NYC park PG," we are ALREADY seeing the influx coming, or here NOW, with Chet Holmgren.
Then, if at the combine, Matas Buzellis does indeed measure 7 feet (and he toughens up), we've got another one coming in next draft.
Year after that, similar situation, if the MSU Spartan Xavier Booker has one more little growth spurt in him and gets past 6'11", which the saying is likely, while 7 ft aint 7'4", this kid is maybe more athletically gifted than all of these aforementioned players.... and i aint done lol....
Same draft we might see Booker, you got Cooper Flagg coming around the 7ft zone, possibly will be by the time hes 20, and same thing---they're already calling HIM a "problem" for the NBA....
It used to be that you were wayyy behind the big shift in talent if you didnt have a PG that could score...while that is probably here to stay, with all these unicorns coming up, by 2026, if you dont have a 7ft/7ft+ player in the guard mold, you're not only gonna be behind the times, but you're just not gonna be able to win...
if you aint able to get one of those, then you gotta disrupt em, and the only guy i see doing that on the defensive end, which i cant believe no one else is studying this kid's 3pt shot defense and spending 2 hours every practice on mastering it, is Mattisse Thybulle.
Go watch THINKING BASKETBALL's piece on him here on youtube....then youll be pulling your heari out of your head like i am that my team hasnt traded for him friggin YESTERDAY and why yours hasnt either

I hope that not some f**'*g player got the order to damage him by purpose!! Like in icehockey. I am sure he could dunk on a 12 foot rim and even touch the top of the backboard! When he in this clip grabbed the ball for the dunk he took it 2 feet over the rim!! with bended arms!!! and he can still grow one inch or two!
